On the 26th of August, 1910 a powerful leader was born. Mother Teresa was born Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu in Skopje which is now the capital of Macedonia. Anjeze was christened the next day thus making her “Christian birthday” august 27. Her parents Dranafile and Nikolle raised her as Roman Catholic. Her father was actively involved in Albanian politics. Sadly her father died when she was 9 years of age. By the age of twelve she was certain that she wanted to dedicate herself to a religious life.
