Vacationing at Moose Hillock Campground
Pirate ship at Blue Lagoon, Moose HilllockEarlier this month we vacationed at Moose Hillock Campground in Warren, New Hampshire. We discovered Moose Hillock while at the RV Camping Show in Springfield this past winter. The kids fell in love with Moose Hillock immediately after seeing pictures of their pool and pirate ship in their brochure. Here is how Moose Hillock Camping Resort describes their pool.
Our famous “Blue Lagoon Tropical Swimming Pool” is one of the favorite attractions at Moose Hillock. Our heated Themed swimming pool, the “Blue Lagoon” with our Authentic Spanish Galleon is an adventure for both young and old. The ship was commandeered by a group of ruthless pirates during a raging storm and ran aground within our “Blue Lagoon Tropical Swimming Pool”. Come experience for yourself the adventure of exploring this shipwreck, its Pirate Treasure and Water Cannons, along with the cave, waterfall, and slides. Kids of all ages will have a blast!

Weekend at Moose HillockIn addition to the Blue Lagoon Swimming Pool, Moose Hillock Campground offers planned activities on Saturdays and also on Wednesdays during the summer months. We went to Moose Hillock Campground on their Pirates Theme Weekend. This theme weekend worked out well for us since my kids had dressed up as pirates at last year’s Halloween parties and we didn’t have to purchase new costumes. We arrived on a Friday evening, which from our experience is the most common time to check in. This standard rule doesn’t apply to Moose Hillock because as a destination campground campers arrive every day of the week. Moose Hillock has a separate office for checking in and quickly found ourselves heading to our campsite which was very large, private site and in a natural setting. Majority of the campsites, like the one we stayed on, had full hookups including cable TV. We do not usually look for a campground that has Cable TV but discovered that it was a welcomed extra as we did find ourselves tuning in to check the weather, watch the news, and even help my youngest get to sleep while watching an evening show. We spend the weekend in the camp to enjoy the activities. The kids made fast friends with children on nearby sites and enjoyed the many planned events including making a pirate craft, candy bar bingo, dodge ball, face painting, ice cream sundaes with Bruce the Moose, evening flashlight treasure hunt (a candy hunt) and a magic show by Scott Jameson. Click here to see future theme weekends. We enjoyed walking through the campground and checked out all they have to offer.
They have volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, playground, pond fishing, nature trails, recreation barn, gift shop and store, a modern laundry and of course a propane fill station. If you plan on visiting Moose Hillock Campground plan on bringing your groceries with you because even though Moose Hillock has a camp store their selections are limited. The closest full grocery store is easily a 30 minute drive away in the Lincoln/Woodstock Area. If you prefer not to cook, you will be pleased to know that Moose Hillock has a full poolside cafe that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cafe has plenty of sitting overlooking the pool. In addition to the Poolside Cafe there is an ice cream bar in the Recreation Barn. I don’t recall seeing any gas stations either so if you plan to be outside the campground touring I would suggest that you fill up before entering the White Mountains
Range. Moose Hillock has sewer sites plus dump station The White Mountains is absolutely beautiful but remember you are in an area surround by National Forests. Why am I reminding you of this? Because there is little to no cell service. As you know my family is very connected to electronics and it took us a few days to get unconnected. Moose Hillock does offer a very popular hot spot at the Poolside Cafe. We also discovered that while walking around in the seasonal camping area (near Site 150-160) we got Verizon cell service. Strangely enough as we approach this area our cells phones started beeping and we started receiving incoming voice messages. This area became a must go by on our daily walk routine. I didn’t see a campsite that I wouldn’t be happy to camp on in all of Moose Hillock. We stayed on site 14 and love it. We were close enough to be a short walk from most amenities and yet far enough away that we didn’t hear loud noises from the happy campers enjoying the pool. On my next trip I think I am going to request Site 23 because this site backs up to Batchelder Brook where my kids spent many hours wading. Moose Hillock Campground is very well staffed and the maintenance department was on top of everything. Sites were cleaned with in minutes of campers checking out. The bathrooms were spotless. We even saw the Moose Hillock staff sweeping the road. The owners, Joe and his wife had a very hands management style and attended all the activities. We spoke with Joe on several occasions and at one occasion he excitedly spoke to us about their sister park in Lake George that opened this year with a Hawaiian Tiki theme. That’s a problem for us. What to do? Plan a return trip back to Moose Hillock Campgrounds in New Hampshire or try the newest Moose Hillock in Lake George, New York! In preparation on our vacation we had spent many hours planning our vacation to the White Mountains. There is so much to see in the area it was hard to choose what to do. To start with we knew we wanted to go to the top of Mount Washington and ride the train in North Conway. In planning our trip I used a book that we purchased from Amazon “Nature Hikes in the White Mountains” to pick family hikes that everyone would enjoy. We also found “White Mountains Waterproof Trail Map” handy to have. On our next visit we hope to take a number of the hikes that we read about in “Waterfalls of the White Mountains.” In later posts I will be telling you more about our area adventures on our 7 day camping trip at Moose Hillock Campground. This was our first vacation to the White Mountains we enjoyed exploring the area around Conway, Lincoln, Littleton and the White Mountains and really enjoyed staying at Moose Hillock Campground. You can sign up for our blog updates to make sure you do not miss any. Let us know if you’ve been or plan on camping at either of the Moose Hillock Campgrounds in the comments below. We’d love to hear from you. Happy Camping, Lizzie
The Muckleshoot are a Native American tribe are a part of the Coast Salish people. their territory can be found located in Washington. The Bullfrog Valley gang was a notorious counterfeiting ring that operated in the wilderness of Pope County during the depression of the 1890’s.The gang’s origin and and methods were mysterious, but the New York Times reported ist demise on June 28, 1897.The remote valley, which follows Big Piney Creek from Long Pool to Booger Hollow, was named for Chief Bullfrog, a Cherokee Who, according to legend, settled there after his tribe’s forced removal from Georgia (the Trail of Tears by the Indian Removal Act of 1830. The Bullfrog Valley, an unincorporated community not typically recognized on current Arkansas state maps, is located along the Big Piney Creek near the community of Silex. According to Dumas, historically the
Firstly, with Hickory Hollow is the disappearing crayfish in Ribbon Cave. This problem, it seems, is the result of heavy metals found in the water. The heavy metals were found at the site of Ribbon Cave, as well as the northern portion of Aram Creek. We tested for heavy metals at well sites G, I, L, M, and S for heavy metals, with the only positives being well sites I and L. Nevertheless, this still confirmed our theory. The heavy metals found in the water have most likely resulted from Compara Corp’s hazardous waste spills, a problem that has occurred multiple times. The heavy metals found in the water being lead, tin, copper, and ammonia would then be highly probable. To fix this problem the answer is simple, “The answer, according to the agency and an outside expert, is twofold: treatment and dilution” (Pappas, 1). Treating the water is simple: the water needs the acidity to be reduced. After that is done, you must dilute the water (add water to the creek). However, the problems will never fully go away, but they will be greatly decreased. In conclusion, in order to save the lives of the crayfish, Hickory Hollow must treat Aram Creek in order to strip the heavy metals.
Hey, I didn’t see you there, how are you?I'm just wondering whether or not a big ol' grizzly bear is going to come charging at me at any point in my life, but seeing as grizzly bears are endangered that probably won't happen. In the past, there were thought to be around 50,000 grizzly bears in North America, nowadays they are growing sparse there are estimated to be only around 1800, now not even a 20th of the population in the past. Most of these grizzlies are located in Yellowstone National Park and Alaska, but they can also be found in Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho and Montana. Some are thought to be in Washington.
...rger without ever having to leave the area. There is also a Bear Sweet and Eats snack shop; feel free to buy all the cookies and ice cream you want. There have been guests who complain that the food is overpriced and I will admit that paying $19.99 for a breakfast buffet is a little steep. However, I must also point out that no one is obligated to buy food at the resort. Guests are free to bring in their own food and drinks with no hassle from the staff. That is an added perk that cannot be overlooked.
The Northeast region is the best region because it has a lot of very important, historical landmarks. Also it has amazing products & natural resources that you might love. Best of all we got the most beautiful climates that I personally love and I think you should too.

There are innumerable examples of Montana's good qualities, far too many to name all of them, but several of these examples are the recreation, history and beauty of Montana. Recreation in Montana includes sports like biking, skiing, hiking, and a many more outdoor recreational activities. The wide open areas create almost endless possibilities for outdoor recreation, and the relatively small population decreases the clutter along lakes, trails, streams, and other venues for recreation. Also, the small population and large open spaces have a preserving effect on Montana's historical buildings, monuments, and other objects of historical significance and interest. Montana is able to keep these historical sites safe because demand for these sites both for industrialization and by the general population is not too great. The small population and large open areas also allow for a broad range of wildlife habitation, which is excellent for both recreational activities like hunting and fishing and for wildlife viewing. Montana's beautiful and varied landscapes are also remarkable to view. The towering, craggy mountains; vast, spectacular forests; massive, grassy plains; and numerous lakes, rivers, and streams, many of which are very sparsely populated, are magnificent to behold. All these pleasurable aspects of Montana are direct results of its generally rural environment and would not be possible without this characteristic. It is evident that those who love Montana are most likely in love with its rural setting.
Camping, hiking, kayaking, rafting, mountaineering, and backpacking are all recreational activities that a group of people may do together when visiting the park. Flightseeing, birdwatching, and sport fishing are other activities people may do
In the Thunder Bay area, the collection of shipwrecks reflects the transitions in ship architecture and construction throughout history. From wooden schooners to early steel-hulled steamers, as well as several unusual vessel types. The Great Lakes actually have some of the best shipwreck diving locations in the United States for two primary reasons. The wrecks found here generally maintain their structural integrity longer than salt water ocean wrecks.
Famed as a frontiersman, folk hero, congressman and Alamo defender, Davy Crockett was one of the most celebrated and mythologized figures in American history. Crockett’s biographers often say there were actually two Crocketts: David, the frontiersman and congressman martyred at the Alamo, and Davy, the larger-than-life folk hero whose exploits were glorified in several books and a series of almanacs.
They're three main places where we hunt in Taylor's Bay, the first being a place called Jackie's woods, it's the closest place to the cabin it's about a 20 min walk up a old road where there use to be telegraph poles, and its easy to get the four wheeler there to bring anything out if we are lucky to kill something.
One of the spots is Tampa, Florida and the other spot is Williamsburg, Virginia. This makes travel for the Northern states long and sometimes inconvenient. I was lucky that Busch Gardens is closer to Maryland and I didn’t have to travel too far.
Golden beaches, majestic mountains, cascades, roaring rivers and mineral springs are just a few of what the island has to offer. All over the island you can find main tourist hubs which are equipped with large resorts, luxury villas, five-star hotels and modern guesthouses. One of the most famous natural attraction in Jamaica is Dunns River Falls. This attraction is located in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, which encompasses of a 180m mountain waterfall with lagoon pools surrounded by trees which then runs off in the ocean. Also in the town of Ocho Rios, one can find one of the most exciting attraction that is name Blue Hole because of it's depth and color of the water it holds within. At this attraction visitors can explore the falls and do cliff diving into the Hole. Blue Hole has been gaining popularity but still is one of Jamaica’s hidden treasures. Another attraction, which is located in Montego Bay, is Zipline Adventure Tours. This attraction will suit the outdoor enthusiast and adventurers. From kayaking to zip-lining, tour guides take guests on a breath-taking experience for a little adrenalin rushed adventure. The exuberant nightlife is by far the best attraction the island has to offer. No matter what day of the week it is visitors can find a wide range of nightly events, where they can join a lively atmosphere and enjoy themselves to the
...ity of Idaho’s recreation center, the equipment is all kept in proper order and safe; it is cleaned and put back together every night. The staff members are vital to the function of a student recreation center, and at the University of Idaho the staff keep students happy, and are always there to inform or help anyone who needs it. Between the outdoor recreation center, intramural sports, various fields, and the renowned climbing wall, the student recreation center of the University of Idaho brings a sense of variety for any multi-functional athlete. I would completely recommend the recreation center of the University of Idaho to any local, and especially to students based on its diversity of programs and options.
