Yahaira- As Yaharia was waiting for her turn to do a flower art activity she hung out at the table watching the other children print flowers. Yahaira asked, “Why is there red paint and yellow paint in the cup?” I explained to her that we did not have orange paint and that I had to mix two colors to make the color orange. I asked her, “Can you tell me what are the two colors that I mixed to make the color orange?” Yahaira answered, “Yellow and red.” Yahaira- As the children worked on their art activity we talked about the different colors (purple, red, yellow, orange, green and pink) we were using to make flowers. Yahaira gave some of her toys to the other child. Yahaira says, “Ms. Romina I’m sharing my toys!” Yahaira- Yahaira brought a stuffed wolf to school today and was playing with it on the table. Reeham sits down and says, “Can I hold him for a minute?” Yahaira says, “Yeah you can hold him he’s soft.” Then Jozef joined them on the table and starts playing too. The children played with the wolf and took turns sharing it with one another. Yahaira- As the children were doing a flower art activity at the table Yahaira was watching the other children paint. She was helping another child telling them how to paint she said, “Dip the paint brush in the paint and dip the fork in the paint and press down on the paper.” All- The children went to the conference room to do some activities. The children got to play and build with large cardboard boxes. They stacked them on top of one another, made houses knocking them down and putting them back together again. The children asked the teachers for assistance with stacking the boxes when they became too high to stack. They also stacked the boxes from smallest to biggest and biggest to
How does being sentenced to prison affect someone later in his or her life? Many people pose the question, but they have yet to form an immutable response. Oscar Wilde once said, “one of the many lessons that one learns in prison is, that things are what they are and will be what they will be”, this quotation engenders the philosophy of prison, which consists of one being held responsible for his or her wrongdoings. The book Orange is the New Black by Piper Kerman explores how a once drug money launderer goes to jail for a crime which she committed almost a decade earlier. At the time she committed the crime, she considered herself lost and naive in regards to her life. Throughout the book, the audience witnesses Kerman’s struggles and how she ultimately overcomes them in order to better herself for the future. After examining the book, one can see that Kerman uses many rhetorical elements in her writing such as ethos, the rhetorical triangle, narration, and myriad others to make her memoir a timeless piece of non-fiction.
In the girls’ section there were lots of dolls, pink themed tricycles and scooters, princess themed Lego castles, plushy pink dolls, Cabbage Patch babies, and plenty of doll strollers. The shelves in the aisles that contained these princess dolls and toys were pink. They had...
The Pre-K and Kindergarten class studied habitats of various animals and insects. They were given examples and tough how the animals made their homes. Next, was a project the teacher did called the family tree. The teacher had cut out a tree and had the children put photos of their family as leaves on the tree. "John (Anthony) Burgess Wilson." DISCovering Authors. Detroit: Gale, 2003. Student Resources in Context. Web. 11 Mar. 2012.
A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, published in 1962, technically falls after the period deemed as 'Modernism', yet it embodies all of the features that were characteristic of that literary era. Burgess's novel is a futuristic look at a Totalitarian government.
The colors mixed perfectly, I had every shade of red, yellow, and orange anyone could ask for. I just needed something that would be blue. I went back to Costco and searched and searched but I couldn’t find anything blue. Then I walked down the baking isle, isle 8, and I found giant gallon sized jugs of food coloring. And I had the idea to mix blue food coloring with mayo. Then I had it. All three primary colors. Now I could paint any shade of green or purple I would need, and I would never run out because I had a jar of each bigger than my
Freedom and liberalism are catchwords that appear frequently in both philosophical and political rhetoric. A free man is able to choose his actions and his value system, to express his views and to develop his most authentic character. What this kind of idealistic liberalism seems to forget, however, is that liberty does not mean a better society, better life or humanistic values such as equality and justice. In his novel A Clockwork Orange (1962), Anthony Burgess portrays an ultimately free individual and shows how a society cannot cope with the freedom which it in rhetoric so eagerly seeks to promote.
One of the parents from the other class decided to donate their rabbit as a classroom pet as they were no longer able to care for it. What a coincidence that this
Mrs.Flynn announced,”Class this is Daylen, she will be joining us. She plays clarinet so Ashleigh will you show her where her instrument will go.”Mrs. Flynn walks over to her computer doing who knows what. I still can't believe this girl who is a firework is going to be in this school. It's like the school pulled her here. I snap out of my daze and look around, Mrs. Flynn is starting to walk over here. Oh no did I say something out loud? Mrs. Flynn asks “Keith you have a lot of the same classes with Daylen
The challenge of cleaning out my desk drawers in preparation for the move to New York results in my stumbling across an old coloring book. I leaf through the pages, startled by the number of pictures I’d left only partially colored. With quick, shaky movements, it seems as if I had simply jumped from shading one image to the next, as if there were something complete about leaving the figures incomplete. Sitting at my desk, fourteen years older, I laugh at my rendition of Big Bird, whose characteristically yellow feathers I had made blue and whose feet (I suppose I had decided) were altogether undeserving of color. And yet I get a sense that thi...
Sanya was still sleeping, and venturing into her world of fairy dreams. Satish opened the gate and went out, Mamta followed him to see off. As he started the scooter, his doll came running out from the bed and came straight to the gate. But papa was gone by then. Mamta came inside, closed the gate and smilingly said to Sanya, "C'mon dear, brush your teeth and get ready for your school. I have made your favorite paranthas today for your lunch box." Mamta loved to prepare tiffin for Sanya and especially when it was on her
Over the years, researchers have been studying the power of colors to influence every aspect of our life. Furthermore, color has been also employed to describe mood. Some frequently expressions employed when a person is feeling sad is to describe it as “feeling blue” or when a person falls in love is common to hear that this person view the world through “rose-colored glasses.” To be “green with envy” refers to a very jealous person or to “be pure as the snow” describe the innocence of a child. Research has been made to study how color affects the mood of people. I consider interesting to extend these studies to examine if color has the effect of increasing positive mood on students. This experiment may contribute to determine what colors help students to feel relaxed, active or positive.
When I first got to the classroom the students were doing a listening exercise and had to answer same question the teacher wrote on the board. At a certain time they all were allowed to go to the bathroom. Each student was given a responsibility in the classroom.
