Odysseus S.P.D. Penelope, Salve my wonderful wife. Te amo! I miss you immensely and I cannot wait until we win the war with my splendid plan, come home to you, see my little boy, and be able to see your beautiful face. I love you so much! I miss you with all my heart. I am hoping that the Greeks come home celebrating soon. I have an idea on how to end this tragic war. I believe that the plan will end this war! I will tell you the story on the idea. So one day I was sitting in my tent telling myself that I will return to you and Telemachus. I told myself that we will win this war. We will come back with smiles on our faces and greet our loved ones! That is when I realized that I needed to come up with a plan that will defeat the Trojans! I thought and thought of every possible solution and outcome until I came across one of the strangest ideas but I thought every detail out and realized it could work out! My idea is that we build a big, wooden horse! I know it sounds weird, thats what I thought too. I thought everything out; first we build the horse big enough to fit all of us, except one. The one that is …show more content…
not in the horse will go to the trojans and tell them to take the horse in to please the gods. The Trojans will have to bring in the horse because they think it will please the gods! So after they celebrate and go to sleep, we will get out of the horse, and slaughter all the men, and take captive the women and children! It is a wonderful plan if I do say so myself. I just have to get the greeks to agree to go with the plan. If they do, I will be home in no time! I cannot wait to come home and see you! You are my everything! You, Penelope, are my beautiful wife whom I love with all my heart! I know that this is hard for you to go through, having your husband fighting in a war, and not knowing if he will be alive the next day, not knowing if you will ever see his face again. It’s hard for me too, not knowing if I will ever see me wife and son. I only spent a little time with Telemachus before I had to go into war! That haunts me everyday! I never know if I will ever see you two, and that is a horrible thing to not be able to do! Te amo! You two are the love of my life! When I get home, I will hug you two I go to the underworld and I will never let go of you two! Ten years is a terrible amount of time to be away from my family! I pray to the gods everyday and ask them to let me return to you everysingle day. I promise I will see you again! If it is down in Hades’ world, then so be it. I will see you again! My love, please read this part to my son: Telemachus, my son, I love you!
You are the best thing that’s happened to me and your mother! I remember you from the little time I spent with you, and I remember seeing how you are going to be a great leader! You are the person I need in my life right now. Your mother has spent almost ten years with you now, I know that I can never change that. I know that you two have a bond I dont have with you. I wish that I could just leave this war right now and come home to you! I love you, and I promise that I will spend my whole life helping you, teaching you, and be with you! I will never leave your side again! Having to leave you when you were a baby, was like having the Fates, kill me by cutting the string of my life. Then put on a boat knowing it would take me forever to see you again. I miss you so much and I am going to be so proud when I lay eyes on you! Te
amo! Penelope, I would like you to write me back as soon as you get this letter! I need to hear from you! I would like to be home before this letter reaches you, but if that doesn’t happen, then pretend that I am reading this to you. I love you with all my heart and I will get to see you again! It has been almost ten years since I left and not a single day has gone in the wind without me longing to see your face and hear your lovely voice. Te amo! If you do not know or believe that I love you with all my heart, then I have failed you as a husband! You are the best thing that has happened to me! I love our little family and I long to see your beaming faces. Please remember that I love you and remember that I will see you again. I pray to the great and mighty gods everyday that they will lead me back safely to you! My love, you are my everything and never want to lose you. Te amo! Odysseus
Although some could possibly call Odysseus, the protagonist of Homer’s The Odyssey, a great leader, the fact that he fails to earn his men’s respect, endangers his men’s lives repeatedly and allows them to die due to his own selfishness states otherwise.
O Brother, Where Art Thou is loosely based of the Odyssey, writtern by Homer. This was clear from the very start because in both the epic and movie, they begin by saying “O Muse..”. There are other evidence in O Brother that connect it to the Odyssey through character, confliclt, relationship, and theme.
One of the most notable epic poems, The Odyssey is a story about a hero and his return home from the war in Troy. On his way, many challenges are presented into his path and as a result, the tone throughout the story will make drastic shifts. Despite the many contrasting trials, certain tones are recurring and will emerge in various scenes, regardless of how diverse the threat is. One of the prevailing tones in part one is desperation. When Odysseus and his men were trapped by the cyclopes, the crew was desperate to get out alive and to not be devoured. Later in the expedition the ship is nearing Ithaca, with the land in sight, and some of the crew members open Odysseus bag of winds, thus blowing the ship back out to sea. Everyone is desperately
“Our life’s journey of self-discovery is not a straight-line rise from one level of consciousness to another. Instead, it is a series of steep climbs, and flat plateaus, then further climbs. Even though we all approach the journey from different directions, certain of the journey’s characteristics are common for all of us.” Author Stuart Wilde’s impression of journeys and their shared commonalities supports the claim that all journeys have a motive and an outcome. In the epic poem, The Odyssey by Homer, Odysseus sets off to defeat Troy, leaving his wife and child behind. After accomplishing his goal, Odysseus faces many problems while trying to return him and his crew back home to Ithaca. Similar to Odysseus’s physical journey, the goal in
Odysseus is the main character in an epic poem called the Odyssey. In the poem Odysseus has had some bad luck getting home, with some of the gods helping him and some hindering him; his journey towards home is a constant struggle. In this poem we see a man being broke and rebuilt, through constant irony his faith was damaged and without the help of Athena he probably would have given up on his journey. Through his hard work and wise spirit he finally does achieve his goal.
The Character Odysseus in Odyssey "Odyssey" is an epic story that has been a significant piece of literature since it was first composed and will remain so for ages to come. One of the reasons it has been so is because of the hero, Odysseus. Odysseus was one of the first Greek mythic heroes renowned for his brain as well as his muscles. Indeed he is a man with an inquiring mind, and he is also a man with outstanding prowess and bravery" (123helpme.com/assets/3603.html). "We also must not forget that he is a top-notch athlete which only adds more to this seemingly insuperable character.
As I sit here on this hillside, I watch the sun start to set and think about everything that has happened in the last few days. I can’t believe that it is mostly all over. I have finally returned home to Ithaca after 20 years. The battle with the suitors is now over, and I have won. Telemachus and my father are heading back to the palace now, where Penelope awaits for us. When I was originally reunited with Penelope, it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. Penelope has changed over the past 20 years and I don’t really know how I feel about her.
Throughout the Odyssey, Odysseus exemplified the key traits needed to be an epic hero. The poem depicts Odysseus as an extremely strong man; at one point, he even defeats the towering cyclops Polyphemus. His ingenuity in creating the trojan horse unearths his slightly latent intelligence. Along with strength and cunning, Odysseus a strong sense of selflessness. He bared a trepid ten year journey and longed for his child and wife. Unfortunately, all of Odysseus’s traits are tarnished by his infidelity, ruthless behavior, and the massacre of men. Though he was, without a doubt, heroic, his lovely wife is the true, unsung heroine of the Odyssey.
Another Side of Odysseus Odysseus is considered a marvelous yet vain leader. If one were to venture deeper into the possible feelings and thoughts Odysseus has whilst doing some of the disputably arrogant things he does, light may be shed on a new feeling towards him. Because Odysseus is a cunning, courageous, and strong leader, he does things that can be perceived as presumptuous and selfish. Odysseus is tactful in dealing with the Sirens. He listens to the advice Circe gives him and makes sure his men and him will not be deterred.
When Odysseus is trying to leave Kalypso and return home to Penelope, he strategically responds by making Kalypso feel superior to Penelope. Making someone feel superior, means that they feel as if they are better than the other person. Kalypso has just asked Odysseus why he yearns to leave her island and reject her offer of immortality. Despite the slim chance that Odysseus will actually make it home alive, he still decides to leave because of his love for his wife, Penelope. Odysseus's narrow chance of leaving all depends on how he phrases his response to Kalypso. Odysseus tries to appease Kalypso by starting off with:
I received a package in the mail unexpectedly. I didn’t recognized the sender address, at all. I opened up the package, to find drawings with thank you notes from a 3rd grade class taught by @mohayanie. Countless parents, teachers, mentors, are a model for children. When you see a veteran, simply say, “Thank you.” Our kids learn from us. Talk with them about why you say thank you to the military members past and present at the airport, grocery store, etc. It is such a simple act of gratitude, but it means a lot to us veterans. She reminded all of the kids at school that veterans are everywhere. They are our teachers, first responders, postal workers, doctors, and store clerks. Moreover, we can thank them personally on Veterans Day and every
The Odyssey follows the journey of Odysseus from the first book, The Illiad. The journey begins when Odysseus departs for the Trojan War, leaving his newborn baby Telemachus and beloved wife Penelope. Then his path back home turns into atonement after he angers Poseidon. Odysseus goes on a physical journey that has a tangible destination, Ithaca. Casted away to the island of Calypso after killing Poseidon’s son, Cyclops Polyphemus, Odysseus is cursed to be held away from his homeland.

In November, I will show you my true self and show you all that is in my heart, that I can only vaguely describe to you. You captured my heart fully this year and I'm glad it was you that did it. This is just the beginning of our lifelong journey together. My first path is southwest to be with you. The words of this letter cannot fully describe how I feel about you but they are the words and the small voice of my heart. You are a one of a kind woman and I want you to know that. I cannot wait to finally have you in my arms again and declare you safe from world's harm. I cannot wait to feel your soft lips against mine. I cannot wait to feel your heartbeat. I cannot wait to look into your bright, beautiful green eyes and tell you I love you. I cannot wait to run my fingers through your long, flowing blonde hair to ease your worries.
