There are many things that impact people during their lives. One of the many things that impact the lives of people today is the modern day electronics. People depended on electronics for their everyday use, although only 50 years ago, they were just dreams people were hoping for. There are many electronics in the modern day, but some are used way more than others. The cell phone, computer, and tablet are some of the ones often used by adults. The ones that teenagers use the most is the cell phone, laptop, and game boxes such as the xbox. I believe that the way that teenagers use electronics changes many things about them. Many teenagers use their phones for not only texting, but music, internet browsing, and social media. The way that people …show more content…
Many people use this to keep connected with their friends and families. Facebook begins with a profile where you can tell everyone about you. Your name, phone number, address, family, hobbies, and much more. With this app you can post a status, upload pictures, and even add your location to whatever you are adding to your page. When you upload a status it shows up on your friends news feed where they can like it, comment on it, and even reply to comments made on it directly to the commander. On Facebook you can not only add friends, but you can also like pages and have their post on your news feed as …show more content…
You can even go out to eat and see a kid on his phone while his grandmother is talking to him and see that he is not even paying attention to her. Many teenagers see these apps as a way of life and have even turned to them to when they have bad days or are mad at someone. Teenagers abuse these apps by posting provocative pictures and even have begun to bully over the internet. They do this because they believe they can hide behind the internet and not get caught. Many teenagers are not mature enough to be able to get on these apps and act appropriately, but parents just let them do as they please. Just yesterday a 5th grader tried to follow me on Instagram. Teenagers also do not realize that potential jobs do look through their social media to see the person they are behind the face they saw at an interview. Social media makes a huge impact on teenagers and just everyday people. The impact it makes on you is decided by you. Choose
James Franco says “Attention seems to be the name of the game when it comes to social networking”, I agree with this as all teenagers in today’s society seem to want is attention. This affects them by distancing themselves from who they truly are and what they believe in as they are very focused on trying to give the people only what they like to see. For example, the Snapchat article states, “Teens have this fear that people might be doing something cooler than us, so we feel like we need to make it seem like we are doing something even cooler.” Teenagers go that extra step of doing something that they might not agree with just to feel good about getting other’s attention. This has affected teenagers because they have forgotten of expressing what they believe in or what they
Today in the Twenty-First century we have surpassed many technological advancements and excelled far past what we would have ever thought. One of our greatest technological advancements is the thing we hold in our hands everyday, our cell phones. Sometimes we don't realize just how much our phones can distract us from our lives. As a generation glued to our phones us teenagers send an average of 3,339 texts per month. In Randy Cohen's essay, “When texting is wrong” he states how we are overcome by texting and how it damages our social and personal lives.
The majority of people are not as social as they used to be. Texting has changed the way people in the world communicate, without phones, people would be more social. When teenagers hang out with friends or at a family event, they are probably sitting on their phone, texting, emailing, or tweeting. “I would tell teens that there is a time and place for texting and there is a time when they need to have a conversation face to face.” (Dempster) “The average teen spends about four hours a day on a cell phone or some invention.” (Gonyou) The way people use technology has changed over the last year. Technology gets better every year; therefore teens and adults are buying and playing with the newest update. In the world today everyone has a cell phone or any kind of technology. Communication has been changed at once, because people do not talk face to face as much as they do talking on their cell phones or on the computer.
Teenagers are in full control and forced by advertisement, when media promote or advertised any new gadget or anything new it affects every young generation mind. Face book, twitter, magazine, pop ups they are all the forms of advertisement. An industry pays the huge amount
Cell phones have crept into an owner’s possession at all times. “The mobile phone has become a part of us: our best friend who will save all our secrets, pleasures and sorrows” ("Exploring"). Teens have developed the need to know the latest news on social media every minute of every day; they do not want to miss any little detail. Since the beginning of smart phones, high school students have felt the need to have their media open on their smart phone in front of them so they do not feel empty. Once someone has become attached or addicted to something, it is hard to change their habits. Cell phones have changed people socially, especially with the availability to social media with electronics.
With the increase of technology, it gives rise to innovations beyond belief. One of the most important innovations of our time is the cell phones. Today, people can now use what would be considered as a computer during the 1900s, in the palm of our hands. The accessibility of the cell phone has instantly changed our way of life.
Docksai, Rick. Teens and cell phones: cell phones can be noisy and distracting. But they can also be an aid to learning." The Futurist. Jan.-Feb.
They can put their faces on the phone for a whole day without getting bored. They always check their phones whenever they have a chance instead of doing something else. “Nearly 80% of teens in the new survey said they checked their phones hourly, and 72% said they felt the need to immediately respond to texts and social networking messages” (Wallace). Most of the teenagers feel uncomfortable without their phones in the pocket. For example, we can see immediately a lot of students in high schools or colleges who hold their phones and walk around the hallway. They try to walk near the walls so they won’t accidentally fall into someone else, and they can keep looking at their screens without getting a distraction. Teenagers focus on what are really happening on the social network than the reality. Teenagers can do anything with only their phones in hand, the latest technology in the phone helps them watch the movie online, read the magazines or newspapers, listen to any kind of music they

The question of young people and cell phone use and texting causing young people to be less able to concentrate and focus has always been a difficult one to answer. Almost every child between the ages of eight and twelve is getting cell phones. The average home in America has as many televisions as they do people. Only 20% of American homes do not have a computer. Technology is quickly becoming a new way of life. The amount of time people spend on their devices is growing rapidly.
The standard 21 year old adults have exchanged 250 thousand emails, spent 5 thousand hours video gaming and 10 thousand hours using their mobile devices (Lei, 2009). When people hear the word technology, they think of microwaves, televisions, cars, NASA, different types and transportation and more. For all that, technology has occurred long ahead these discoveries. Technology is an arguable matter amongst people. .In the old days, people lived an extremely simple life without technology. They used candles to light their houses and lanterns at the dark to travel, they used fire to cook and used newspapers and mail to share news. On the other hand, technology has seized an important place in our society. People are living in a stage of progressive technology. They are using all natural reserves applicable for making their lives better and easier. The society cannot picture life without electricity since it allows them to live through their everyday life. This paper argues that technology positively impacts people’s lives.
Mobile phone is a necessary part of everyones life especially teenagers. In the 20th generation, mobile phones have made our lives much easier and convenient. However, teenagers should limit their usage of mobile phones as along with its benefits it can also cause a lot of problems. Mobile phones cannot be ignored as they help us with our day to day work in life but the usage of them can be limited.using a mobile phone has both a good and a bad effect on a teenagers , it depends on how the person is using the device in the right way or the wrong way.
One reason to consider the introduction of cell phones in learning is to promote digital etiquette, a concept that is foreign to most people. According to Liz Kolb (the author of “Toys to Tools”) Digital etiquette is “a basic set of rules you should follow in order to make the internet better for others, and better for you.” Kolb says in her book that “an educator’s job is to help students navigate and stay safe in their media world”. Students often are unaware to the consequences of their use and misuse of technology. Currently, many students do not overthink about protecting their own privacy. For example 55% of students do not care whether the digital material they use is copyrighted. Students ages 10 to 17 often do not take in appropriate cell phone use. According to Kolb “While nine out of ten 10- to 17- year olds believe that they are courteous on their cell phones, 52% admit to sending text messages at the movie theater, while 28% admit to sending texts at the dinner table.” These statistics show that teens are unaware with cell pho...
There are about one and a half billion users of social media worldwide. It can be used to meet new people, find old friends, chat the day away, join interest groups, or even to share pictures. Social networks were mostly created so people could meet and find new friends. What most users of social media don't know, are the dangers of using social media. One example is when you meet a person online, because they are not always who they say they are. If someone is not who you may think they are, who could they be? They can be a stalker or a person that wants to steal your identity; which could be done easily thanks to new developments of new technology. Also thanks to new technology it is now easier for people using your information to track you. Posting personal information can risk your family and friends lives. Social media can be used as a weapon against you. It can even lead to a kidnapping, or even someone's death. Many people use social media to help to waste time, but could also become an unhealthy addiction. Also social media can damage your future. When you are a teen you tend to post pretty much anything you want. This is dangerous because you can post too much personal information. What most teens don't realize is that what they do on social media now can affect them for the rest of their life. It can even come back to haunt you in the future. Social media is dangerous because it makes it easier to be stalked, identity theft to happen, kidnappings and murders, and also can ruin your future.
