Walt Disney Company is raking in profit with its new smash hit animated film, Moana. The movie made over $82 million within the thanksgiving weekend. Although the box results are close to Disney’s massive 2013 hit, Frozen ($93.6 million), Moana scored the second best thanksgiving debut of all time. Disney’s tropical animated story features Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), who voices the demigod Maui and 16 year old Auli'i Cravalho who voices the main character, Moana. Moana delivers a fresh and new conscious experience to both children and adults as it shows a glimpse of Polynesian cultural tradition that isn’t normally shown on the media. Moana, whose name in Hawaiian means Ocean, is chosen by the ocean itself to return a mystical gem to an island …show more content…
It is Disney’s best movie in decades. Yes it’s better than Frozen. It’s better than Tangled. It’s even better than Mulan. Though it’s mostly a straightforward and simple story, it contains a rich mythology that engages the audience which gives this South Pacific world an interesting sense of location than any other Disney movie. In addition, the characters encountered are captivating. Moana is less of the stereotypical Disney princess in which she is confident and fierce but also flawed. Unlike past Disney princess, Moana does not have a love interest that is needed to advance the storyline but has a plutonic relationship with the Demigod Maui that is constantly appealing to watch. What put Moana over other Disney’s film is how the movie graciously implements music and visual story together. This have not been seen since The Lion King but every second of Moana is astonishing. There are a lot of groundbreaking animation achievement in this movie, such as bringing the animated water to life and giving it a personality. The music in Frozen was good but the soundtrack in Moana is superior. One example is, “You’re Welcome” where Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is singing. The song is catchy and manage to stand out. Moana should top the heart of many kids growing up today and be considered as an all-time classic as the years go by in the same The Lion King and Aladdin impacted those
Overall I think that the show was worth seeing, even though I let my parents pick the film--which I will never do again by the way-- I think that it was a good production. It was a little boring at first, which might have just been because I didn’t really want to see it in the first place, but the storyline was pretty good. I personally like humor, so I tend to pick shows that I know will have some humor, but I’m proud of myself for seeing something outside of my comfort zone.
The movie Moana is about a young girl who goes upon a voyage to return the heart of
The years after the civil war left one half of America, the north, satisfied and the other half, the south, mostly dissatisfied. Therefore the last third of the nineteenth century, 1865-1900, was a time period in which America was mending, repairing, improving, reshaping, and reconstructing its society, economy, culture, and policies. Basically it was changing everything it stood for. This continual change can be seen in the following events that took place during this time. These events are both causes and effects of why America is what it is today. These are some examples: the reconstruction of the south, the great movement towards the west, the agricultural revolution, the rise of industrialism, the completion of the transcontinental railroad, and America's growth to gaining world power. All of these are reasons and events that characterize America as being an ever-changing nation.
Music is has a big impact on animated movies. Without it, the movies would be very bland and wouldn’t have as much emotion. Music
Walt Disney has always been known for his brilliant imagination and his overflowing abundance of his well-known Disney characters, each with their own unique personalities. Growing up the Disney princesses were a huge role model to girls my age. The princesses never really appealed to me as much as Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Ariel was known for her love for adventure, her complete stubbornness and her dedicated love, mainly to her beloved Eric. Those three characteristics are also three that portray myself.
Disney has done a great job interpreting these pieces of music. One example is the Chinese dance: they have created a flawless masterpiece in the mushroom animated Chinese dance. All the animations are doing something joyful whether it’s dancing, or making the flowers bloom, all the actions of the characters are sending out a vibrant spirit. Animations are vital to creating a mood/setting to the music. Another great thing Disney has done to create a good vibe in the animations is the characters they used like: fish, or flowers, all these animals emit a pleasant vibe as well as the up-beat music. The dances in the song are a mix of elegant dances and up-beat dances that blend together perfectly
...he love at first sight storyline does not detract from the message as it shows two people from different sides working together for what ultimately seems to be the same end goal. Since this is the first Disney movie to have an interracial romance, I feel that it has some importance. If anything, it may even teach people that skin color and background do not matter when it comes to love.
I chose to write my essay on these two cultures, because they are both native to their land, and they were both overthrown, for lack of a better word, from their homeland by more “Civilized” people. They were both thriving, self sufficient cultures that were living and progressing fine on their own. But others saw them as primitive and wanted to change them. This is what I think they have most in common.
Aloha from the people of Hawaii and their culture! Have you ever wanted to visit Hawaii for fun activities, or to enjoy the amazing sights? Well, then Hawaii is a great travel destination! However, if you were to visit the islands, it would be great to learn a little about its people and culture! Luckily that’s exactly what we are going to talk about, so you can get to know the people of these magnificent islands a bit better. The culture of the native Hawaiian people is very colorful and unique because of its cuisine, hula dances, and religion.
Throughout the entire film, there are lessons that are being taught. Whether is the central theme of not judging someone by their skin color but by their character or showing the essence of what the meaning of family really is. Through the setting, acting, and relationships shown it all comes together to make the perfect film. I recommend this film be seen by everyone at least once in their lifespan, because the lessons that are depicted in there are valuable. It is the perfect movie to go see with your family and makes you grateful and thankful for everyone that you have in your life. The film brings joy, happiness, tears, laughter and much more. I can truly say that the movie is worth purchasing and viewing.
Watching Disney films is sort-of a childhood ritual that almost every child has the pleasure of going through. These films are cute, funny, adorable, and yet, behind the marvelous scenes of Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid and the other dozen films by Disney, lies a familiar ideological system set in place by none other than Walt Disney himself. The film I watched was Tangled. This was the first time I watched this film, but I felt as though it had very similar hidden messages in certain scenes that were like the other Disney films I have watched.
Therefore I will recommend it. I find the book enthralling, because of its underlying insurrectionary principle that just because someone announces their intentions and gets validation from other people, doesn’t mean you have to accept as right and you can contrast with their intentions and ideas. The reason I find the movie attractive and would recommend it is that of the nostalgic and euphoric feeling you may get as Walt Disney brings such a great book to life in Motion picture. That’s why I would recommend the book and movie known as Escape to Witch
I thought that the Lion King was a very good film to watch for all
I have to disagree with both of these reviews. I believe that the story was brilliantly written and the cinematography was beautiful. This movie touched me and had me in tears, which believe me is hard to do. I do agree with the New York Times and New Yorker that it was a little dragged out and that Kiera Knightly's acting was over rated. Other than that, I would defiantly recommend this movie.
The best Disney’s movie to watch as a family is The Lion King. The Lion King is for all ages. This movie talks about our society. Some of the themes, coming of age, society and class, still affects us. Even the music affects us in so many ways, that you are speechless. This movie has a lot of african music. The music of The Lion King has improvisation and call and response which makes the music in the movie even better. Now enough of the movie lets talk about the music.
