What is a missionary? A missionary is someone sent by Jesus Christ just as he was sent by God. In missionary work, the great danger is that God’s call will be replaced by the needs of the people, to the point that human sympathy for those needs will absolutely overwhelm the purpose of being sent by Jesus. ("My Utmost For His Highest.") “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations” ("Go and Make Disciples!"). Missions are important to God because of the cross of Christ and the command and the coming of him. The missionaries that I "Missionary Interview."ed said that it’s dangerous being a missionary. For instance if you're in a muslim country trying to spread the gospel you can be killed, or in other countries where you can go days without food. God’s call to missions is evident in South Africa with Multi Ministries.
Nevertheless South Africa’s primary religion is Christianity.

The city that Harold Peasley lives in is Johannesburg ("Missionary Interview."). He said that he lives in an apartment because he is always moving place to place to spread the gospel ("Missionary Interview."). The kind of foods he likes to is steak, lamb, and other assortments of meat ("Missionary Interview."). Usually the temperature there is really hot, but sometimes in winter it gets really cold to where they can even have snow! ("Missionary Interview.") He said he usually wears jeans or whatever is necessary to the situation.("Missionary Interview.") I asked him if it was hard to be surrounded by other religions. He said that it is difficult sometimes but it shows “great competition.”(Intervie) They practice their religion by using teams to get place to place to share the gospel. South Africa is filled with people who are non-be...

...throwing away tons of food and there is nothing they can do about it” ("Missionary Interview."). It isn’t always fun being a missionary but it is satisfying at times, and to spread the gospel and God’s word is always rewarding.
In conclusion, we should help share the gospel around the world. Multi Ministries has had a great task in sharing the gospel with South Africa, that is why we need to help. They have donated bikes the pastors to help them share in their faith and so should we. Even if it’s hot, cold, snowing, raining, we’ve got to spread the gospel. I think it would be great for everyone to participate in missions. It can help them grow in in their faith and help them with their lives.

He is paid much less than other missionaries and takes on tasks that others would not. He believes that this is predetermined and there is nothing that he could have done better. "So I am ready to say, they have usd us thus, because I Cant Instruct the Indians so well as other Missionaries, but I Can assure them I have endeavours to teach them as well as I how-but I must Say, I believe it is because I a poor Indian. I Can 't help that God has made me So; I did not make my self So.-”
Missions were created to bring the word of God to a new land. They thought the Indians deserved a chance to go to heaven.. The country of Spain helped the Catholic church and the Spanish priests. They wanted to strengthen the Spanish Empire over in the New World. The thought they could teach the Indians how to be like the Spanish. Spain thought the Indians could become Spanish citizens. This would give the king more power. The missions were set up between 1769 and 1823 in California. The Spanish also build forts called "presidios." Presidios were supposed to protect California from foreign troops like the Russians and the British. Spain already had missions in Mexico. They went to Alta California which is not a part of Mexico. They made a trail of missions called the El Camino Real. El Camino Real means "Royal Highway" in Spanish. They called it this to honor the king of Spain. Each mission had a Franciscan priest called a "padre." Padre means "father" in Spanish. The head of the priests was Padre Junipero Serra.
Although, I had the completely wrong view. I learned that a person is a person regardless of a person's social status or by what they do or don't have. I also realized that even though a mission trip is meant to help those in need, I needed missionaries myself. I realize that even though we help the kids at the Ruidoso orphanage, I feel like they helped me shape who I am as a person in a dramatic way. Whether it was by feeding us lunch to playing a game of soccer with us, they positively affected my life in a huge mental way.
Reverend Josiah Strong's Our Country: Its Possible Future and Its Present Crisis inspired missionaries to travel to foreign nations.
During the 1600s to 1700s, the Spanish were settling Texas. They did this by building missions and presidios throughout the land. The purpose was to keep the French out and to change the Indians' ways of life. Some of these missions failed and some succeeded. All in all they were closed after years of trying to change the Indians.
The most important task you can do as an ambassador for Christ, is to spend time hanging out with God yourself. Even if it cuts into time that you wanted to spend in "ministry." Spending some time enjoying God's presence, aware that God is enjoying yours at the same time, will do more for those around you, than any words you could work up. If you have a sense of intimacy with Christ, you will be able to do more than just talk about God.
This is when said person raises money and takes off time to go over to help the poorer countries like Africa. They can be going over there to help build houses, plant gardens, and often times just to spread their joy with the children and families that live there. A mission trip is an amazing opportunity not a responsibility to go out of the comfort of you perfect house and step into the dirt floors of other countries. Open up your hearts to help other people, not because of the responsibility that has been bestowed upon you, because you don’t have a responsibility, but do it because you have been blessed with an opportunity to help other

Today, even though the number of black churches has grown tremendously the number of black missionaries has declined. According to a 2013 Christian Times article, out the 4900 Southern Baptist Convention missionaries only 29 are black.50 We as culture need to get back to being dedicated to missionary work. There are a lot of people claiming to be Christians, but are they really? The question that needs to ask is you really a Christian, and if so what are you doing to either help others or spread the gospel?

It was the first day of school. I was extremely nervous for my first day at the high school. I didn’t know my way around and was afraid I was going to get lost and be late to all of my classes. I walked into the building next to my older sister Morgan. People were crowding the commons and I didn’t know where any of my friends were. My sister turned to me as asked me where my advisory was, as that was the first class we were going to that day. I tell her the classroom number and she led me to the room. On the way there she described to me the general direction in which I would have to go in order to get to my other classes. Once at my advisory room, she said goodbye and left to go to her own class. I went through the day struggling, but yet
His church is a “good sized” suburban church that has been around for 295 years. He describes the parishioners as having a “broad tent” of theological views. This congregation is open to new ideas and re-visiting the old. They appear to be carrying out intentional missional work in their community
Evangelism is one of the key component for changing people’s lives. McRaney states, “The word evangelism comes from a combination of Greek words for “good” and “messenger.” Evangelism involves bringing the goods. Kent Hunter reminded us that “when Christians witness, they tell how Jesus Christ has changed their own lives. The change in their own lives gives them the desires to share the Good News with others.” Christians must share their testimony to people and spread the gospel so that they can bring lost souls to Christ. God has commissioned every Christian to evangelize so that people will learn about Jesus Christ and accept Him as their personal savior. Matthew 28:19 states, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”. Christians are required to spread the Gospel throughout the world and can no longer just attend church. Christians must plant seeds and water the seeds so that lost souls will be saved.
