This is Adrian Romo with channel 4 news today I will be reporting a recent missing person’s case that has come to my attention, there was a body recently discovered at 6200 Old Hemphill Road in Fort Worth, Texas.(source) There were only skeletal remains left over with a few belongings of the deceased when discovered. I will be speaking about the specifics on the case and what has been done in an attempt to find the identity for this man over the past couple of weeeks. As I stated earlier the body was discovered on Old Hemphill Road, between Altamesa Boulevard and Interstate 20. They suspect that he was killed by a gunshot wound and his body was later dumped into a hole about 50 feet west of the 6200 block. The victim’s body was found on July …show more content…
11, 2004 and believed to have been there for around 6 months. The coroner has estimated some vital statistics, his age is estimated anywhere around 35 to 55 years old around 5’3” to 5’8” short brown hair, with an unknown eye color. He was found in tan Wrangler jeans size 30-32, blue plaid boxers, along with a silver Texas Sesquicentennial Commemorative coin found in his pocket. (source) “The victim was found with his feet bound in duct tape with no identification found on or near the body (source).” The discovery was made by a local landscaping company who was cleaning up the area for another company who was attempting to renovate the area.
While in the process of them digging they saw part of the victims clothing sticking out and dug around it discovering the body. Immediately following their discovery, they contacted the Fort Worth police department where they along with the coroner’s office and homicide detectives began working on the case. We were able to actually get in touch with the member of the landscaping crew that made the discovery in order to ask a few questions. Jesus Gonzales, the man who discovered the victims remains. When asked what his initial thoughts were when he first noticed the body he responded “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, it was just a normal day of work and then I saw the clothing sticking out not thinking anything of it I dug around it and that’s when it came to my attention that this was indeed a …show more content…
body” Afterwards, we were able to speak with detective Baldwin who had been assigned to the case. We asked him if there was any new information found on the victim and he stated that they have gotten a facial reconstructive artist who recreated an image based off of the skeletal remains of the victim and has posted it on their website. “The way facial reconstruction works is a sculptor who is an expert in facial anatomy will work with forensic anthropologist to interpret the features of the skeletal remains which will help reveal the age, sex, and ancestry of the victim (Crime museum).” We also have got ahold of the image as well and will be posting it on all social media platforms in order to assist identifying the victim. The following week after the release of the victim’s facial reconstruction we came into contact with a few people who helped identify the victim. The subjects name is Daniel Fuentes, he is 37 years old extremely close to the range the coroner predicted. His family stepped up and spoken to the local Police department in order to assist in solving the murder. The family was devastated about the loss of Daniel who is a father of two sons and a husband. When speaking with the family they told us at Channel 4 news that Daniel was a family man, very hardworking, and did not have any known enemies. Daniel is suspected to have been involved in a robbery gone wrong late at night after leaving work. His family stated that he worked nights over at a local gas station, so it is likely that after leaving work one night he was being followed home and whenever they entered the dimly lit area of the 6200 block is when the suspects stepped out of their vehicle and attempted to rob Daniel. The police haven’t gotten a positive ID on the suspects but are working on that now that they have received an identification of the victim. They are asking for the public’s help to assist them on finding the people responsible for the murder in order to bring justice for Daniel’s murder. The commemorative coin that was found in the victim’s pocket appeared to be very unique, I got ahold of detective Baldwin and asked if he could forward me some photos of the coin so there could be some investigating on my part.
I began researching different coins and found that they are in particular to certain local clubs. The one that was in in Daniels pocket belonged to a local motorcycle club once I found that information out I got into contact with detective Baldwin and forwarded the news onto him. Shortly after telling him about this the detectives were able to find some new leads on a few suspects who they believed had a part in the murder. They were able to narrow the suspects down to two brothers who were new members in the club. After a few interrogation sessions the detective had come to the conclusion that the brothers had attempted the robbery as some sort of initiation to join and it had gone wrong therefore leading to the death of Daniel
Fuentes. Shortly after they had confessed the officers were able to make the arrest and indict the two brothers on multiple charges. Capital murder, robbery, along with tampering with evidence the last two charges alone consist of a minimum of two to with a maximum of twenty years in the Texas Departments of Criminal Justice. The capital murder charge has two sentences either life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty which luckily Texas still has as an option. They are now at the Tarrant County Jail awaiting trial for sentencing. To conclude this, I would first like to thank all of those who contributed to identifying the victim, Daniel Fuentes. His family for stepping up, speaking out, and seeking justice for their loved one. Along with, the Fort Worth Police Department for their diligence and consistency on the case and ensuring that Daniel’s family got the peace of mind and justice they deserve for losing their loved one. Case number 242UMTX was tragic but it was with all of their help that we were able to find the information needed in order to solve it. Identifying the victim was a journey of its own and thankfully we were able to find the people responsible for the crime. Once again this is Adrian Romo with channel 4 news and I appreciate those who kept up with this story over the couple of weeks we have been broadcasting it.
Simone’s body was found half-dressed with her shirt pushed up to around the neck and her shorts were hung off the pelvis with the cords undone. Another case is that of 17-year-old Kendrick Johnson whose death was initially ruled the result of accidental suffocation. A second autopsy produced a different conclusion, but when the second autopsy was performed, his body had been stuffed with newspaper, and his organs were missing ("Organ Trafficking, Melanin Theory & the Fountain of Youth -," n.d.). The brain, heart, lungs and liver were missing. He also discovered Johnson's death was due to blunt force trauma to the right side of his neck (Archer,
This morning October 8th 1965 at about 5:13 am the body of Bob Sheldon was found lying next to the park fountain he was seen to be in a pool of blood. His body had a single stab wound in his back which had pierced his heart, killing him instantly. Supposed eye witnesses say that a small boy who was a member of the "Greaser Gang" attacked and killed Bob and intended to kill the rest of them. Cherry Valance claims that she was walking with Johnny and Ponyboy after the movies when Bob approached them in his car and threatened the two them. Be on the lookout for the two boys with the description of one that has long light-brown hair, green eyes, and is about five feet tall and another has long jet-black hair, large black eyes, and is about four feet six inches. The first one is considered to be Ponyboy and the second one is considered to be Johnny. The two are now on the run they were last seen at a party with Dally. Investigators report that Dally says he has no idea where these two are but he thinks that they are going to Mexico. A woman was taking a walk through the park and discovered the bloody corpse she said “I was hesitant at first because I thought they were watching me, but I gained some courage and called 911” the friends that were their helping Bob bully the 2 said they were there during the homicide, but decided not to call the police because they were drunk and they were scared after seeing him dead. They said, the murderer was a 16 year old boy named Johnny Cade.
Casey Anthony was accused of killing her two-year-old daughter Caylee, but because of lack of evidence, Anthony was convicted not guilty. John Cloud, from Time magazine, implies, “And yet virtually no one doubts that Anthony was involved in her child’s death. In fact, her lawyer admits that Anthony know how her daughter’s body would be disposed of” (“Few Doubt That Casey Anthony Was Involved in Her Child’s Death. But Fascination With Her Case Has Made It The First Major Murder Trial Of The Social-Media Age”). They found Caylee’s corpse duct taped by Casey’s parent’s house, in Orlando, Florida. The only evidence they found was in the family Pontiac Sunfire. The stench of decomposing flesh overpowered the trunk of the family’s car. “Why did Anthony let 30 days pass between the time Caylee went missing and the day police were notified?” questioned Tresniowski, “And how could she so blithely dan...

Two detectives were assigned to the case: Harry Hanson and Finis Brown. [2] When they and the police arrived at the crime scene, it was already swarming with people, gawkers and reporters. The entire situation was out of hand and crowded, everyone trampling all over any hopes for good evidence. [2] One thing they did report finding was a nearby cement block with watery blood on it, tire tracks and a heel print on the ground. There was dew under the body so they knew it had been set there just after 2 a.m. when temperatures dropped to 38 degrees.
When the first responder got to the scene he adimatately meet the 911 caller, who lead him to a car in an apartment parking lot. The car doors were closed and all of the windows were fogged. The police officer used his flashlight to see inside of the car before opening the door. He found a young African American woman who had been shot several times. The officers quickly called for backup, investigators and medical personnel. While awaiting for their arrival he secured the crime scene with caution tape, creating an initial perimeter setup as discussed in lecture two. Once everyone arrived he left it to them to search the car while he talked to the 911 caller, witnesses and others who had information on who had been present in the car. The investigators were able to collect physical evidence of bullets and cartage casings that were found outside the vehicle and inside the vehicle on the floorboard of the driver’s side. The team determined the bullets came from a 40 caliber. Other types of physical evidence that were found on the scene were the bloody clothing on the victim, the victim’s cell phone and fibers in the car from the driver’s side. personnel at the scene crime took several photographs, powered test for finger prints and did a blood spatter analysis. The sad story is still mostly a mystery because of the ongoing investigation, and both the police and autopsy report were withheld from the public. What is known, is that a nineteen-year-old freshman at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) named John Fiocco Jr. was reported missing from his dormitory on March 25th 2006 after drinking. Police reported finding blood (that was later identified as belonging to Fiocco) around a dumpster outside of his dormitory. It was never made clear if it had any connection to the trash chute above, but his body was recovered at the Bucks County landfill in Pennsylvania. (Landfill Isn't About Fiocco)

Reports are that Point Fortin police received a report around 7 am that the body of man was seen lying under a house at LP#3, Country Trace, Fanny Village.
He later pulverised the bones with a sledge hammer and scattered the bones around the [his grandmother’s] property. The flesh was put into bags and buried in a crawlspace under the house. It wasn't until 3yrs later that police and forensics found the remains.” (Blanco) His second murder was not until 1987.
