That had to be done in order to get everyone to come together as one whole as peace and respect. Obama opened this significant speech by including words from the Constitution “We the people, in order to form a more perfect union” (Obama). From these words it means that the union was in critical conditions and there had to be an escape from the misunderstanding that was creating so much chaos. Obama decided to run for president at that time, because he believed that the issues that the country was going through had to solved together (Obama). Solving all the issues together was the goal in order to better the lives of Americans and gave them hope. Race back in the past and in the present is a topic that cannot be ignored and left unfixed. ‘If we simply retreat into our respective corners we will never be able to come together and solve challenges like healthcare, or education or the need to find good jobs for every American” (Obama). If these challenges never came to an end, then what would the American dream be? There were many things to think about to control these unexpected hardships that many people were dealing with. The March of the Flag is a statement given by Albert Beveridge about the power of the US. He uses the power of the US to give the idea that US has its own ideas, and those ideas could be spread globally because US is so powerful. He is really arrogant, and he believes that due to America’s power they can spread ideas to other countries quickly and easily. He uses GOD as merely a symbol of power, a way to show how powerful the country is, and how influential it can become. We discussed the culture spread of the US in class, how it affected other culture, and created culture shocks. The article The Paralyzing Influence of Imperialism, William Jennings Bryan, discusses the US influence, and the influence that can be brought upon the Philippine Islands. He discusses the way, traders, taskmasters, officeholders, and military can control the small group of the Philippine Islands and influence them culturally and

He makes sure his audience connects with him directly by making them feel at his level, and at hiss. This way he connects to the audience, and in exchange, helps his statement of unity. Using various examples of parallelism, anaphora and refrain, Obama brands the theme of equality and togetherness in our country throughout the speech, vital to gaining the respect of his audience. Perception is the ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses. When we meet people for the first time we tend to have mixed emotions about a person both positive and negative. We tend to stereotype people for the way they look, act, and who they hang out with. As people we should think about the way we act and react to people and other things. Put yourself in other people’s shoes and see where they are coming from.
In the essay by Garry Willis called “Two Speeches Based Upon Race”, he references important beliefs that Lincoln held about the United States while also referencing Obama who had a subtle theme that is also present in some of Martin Luther King Jr’s writings.
Opening with "We the people, in order to form a more perfect union.” conveys an image of the constitution for the purpose of the speech; what comes next is “Two hundred and twenty one years ago,” an opening that places him in the tradition of Lincoln at Gettysburg and Dr. King at the Lincoln Memorial “Five score years ago.” Concentrating on the nation’s misunderstanding and miscommunication connected to racism in America.
Obamas A More Perfect Union establishes ethos by including past events that have affected America, this really presents the audience with a sense of compassion pertaining pathos, ethos, and logical (logos) arguments to persuade the audience. This speech is so moving because race can be such a difficult topic to talk about, especially when you have a whole nation watching you. In this speech Obama addresses the issues of race and addresses the comments that were made by his pastor Reverend Wright. With combining these appeals so well Obama is able to make a fluent and articulative speech that connects the audience and persuades the people to step away from the problems in the present and think about the solutions in the

Perception is the process of understanding what information your senses are receiving in order to gain knowledge on what you are witnessing/seeing. The following quote explains more technically, what perception is; “Perception is the process by which you become aware of objects, events, and especially people through your senses: sight, smell, taste, touch, and sound.” (DeVito, J.A., 2015). Some of the ways in which perception is encountered is through the ‘process of perception’, Asch’s ‘configural model and ‘perceptual accentuation’. Each of these forms of perception relate to my own misjudgement of Jake earlier in the year. By further analysing these ideas, I can see how my perception of Jake influenced my view of and thoughts on him. Therefore
Perception (Noun) the way you think or understand something. Perception can be a funny thing astronauts. Why, perception is a nasty thing and it can play some dirty tricks on you. However, do not let perception be a bully to you and ruin your adventure to the planet Nicolas Cage. This sweater thing being lucky is complete rubbish in fact its confirmation bias. The reason I am warning you on this is if issue you a warning that on Nicolas Cage world their be a large amount of de...

As stated earlier, the court case Plessy v. Ferguson ruled that the community can be separate, but they have to be equal. The problem was that it was not equal, so the court case Brown v. Board of Education overturned Plessy v. Ferguson. Brown v. Board of Education was not enforced. From the governor of Alabama, George Wallace’s inaugural address declared, “...and I say...segregation today...segregation tomorrow...segregation forever.” This demonstrates that the American leaders resisted to integration and so did the white public. Similarly, Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech expressed, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by their character.” King strived for equality, yet he never established full equality. This was an unsuccess because the fact he says, “will one day” exhibits that there is still no equality due to the white public being used to interacting with their own race
