Brandon, I appreciate your questions and the answers can be found in my final ministry proposal, that I uploaded, however Charisse stated, that she could not read the document. The technical support department is working to resolve the issues. When I was uploading the document, one of the error messages said, that I am not authorized to be on the page and logged me out. I still cannot download your ministry project proposal to submit my feedback, so thank you for responding to what I wrote to Charisse. Our ministry project consists of applied research that focuses on the student's/my ministry settings. The ministry project addresses the actual issues and problems that are found in a real ministry context, in the student's own church or …show more content…

Bear in mind, I am around these individuals, but what they discussion with me is sometimes limited. This ministry project/program is this arduous process nonetheless it us my vocation to serve
To say the least, I felt like a failure and that I had wasted people’s time and money. Reading this chapter helped me realize that it is important to learn through a failure (Fagerstrom 126). Failures happen in ministry often, and the way you respond to the failure is important. Chapter fifteen, “Developing a plan for lifelong learning”, is essential for effective leaders. Per Fagerstrom, there are four areas that need constant attention: skill (competency), wisdom and knowledge (learning and thinking), spiritual formation (godliness), and personal development (focus on the word personally)
As with any ministry, it takes a person who to be selfless and willing to make the sacrifices that have to be made daily as Ms. Lamb does. For example, she quit a f...
The perspectives from transgender youth is critically missing in many discussion, research, intervention and implementation strategies. Transgender youth, are misunderstood, misrepresented and excluded from conversations, decision making, and policy execution when in actuality they should be involved. Shelton & Bond (2017) elucidates that although there is a growing body of research that examines LGBTQ youth homelessness, gaps in knowledge about the specific experiences of transgender and gender-expansive homeless youth remain. Studies focus largely on transgender youth in the context of the methods and measures in studies. Hence, including transgender youth within research on sexual minorities, rather than allowing them a distinct category of inquiry, can replicate the common misreading of transgender people as

Numerous of people believe only certain races are homeless, but it is certainly not true. Compared to eleven percent of the general population, forty two percent of African-Americans are homeless. Compared to nine percent of the general population, thirteen percent of Hispanics are homeless. Compared to one percent of the general population, four percent of the homeless are Native-American. Two percent of homeless were Asians (“facts”). Family rejection of sexual orientation and identity was the most frequently cited factor of the LGBT homelessness. Fifty percent of young people that are homeless say parents notified them to leave or knew they were leaving and did not care (“Eleven facts about homeless”). The Williams Institute, said “forty percent of the homeless youth served by agencies identifies as LGBT. Forty
The homeless population in the United States does not only include the humans out on the streets, but also the ones in living in vehicles, emergency shelters, transitional housing, and other unstable environments. Over six-hundred thousand individuals are currently homeless in the U.S. In our current society, people often become homeless due to circumstances beyond their control. Humans often face abrupt personal and public challenges within their lives causing change and displacement in their housing status without notice nor a choice. In relation to personal reasons for homelessness, individuals who identify as LGBTQ and victims of domestic violence encounter many different situational problems leaving them displaced. Furthermore, there has been a sharp increase in unaffordable housing recently causing other people to suffer issues in a more public manner.

On the down side there are a limited number of educational programs that adequately deal with the issue of incorporating religion and spirituality in therapeutic/counseling settings. This can be attributed to the fact that counseling is based in psychology, a scientific field, which has traditionally neglected issues of a spiritual nature (Nelson, Kirk, Ane, & Serres, 2011) as well as the practice used within the United States to separate education and religion (Cashwell and Young, 2011). This then results in a significant portion of therapist and counselors who are not prepared to address the issue of spirituality and religion with their clients. One would think that with the value many Americans place on the topic of religion and spirituality that there would come a time when a client would want to address this topic during his or her session.
LGBT youths that reside in the streets are prone to mental health, substances use problems, suicidal act, violent victimization and a range of HIV risks behaviors. The source will be beneficial for my essay as it directly addresses my topic of the causes of homelessness among LGBT adolescents also to discuss the mental health and victimization risks these people face. I’m specifically interested in utilizing Keuroghlian, Shytasel, Bassulk comments regarding LGBT homelessness as direct quotes which I can then contextualize with
In ministry it is important to note that the different people involved in your ministry will be at different stages of their spiritual growth. Having an awareness of your own personal theology will be important for how you go about teaching the students who are involved in your youth ministry. One part of personal theology is spiritual formation. Duffy Robbins states that spiritual formation is, “the growing into the likeness of Jesus” (448). Another main part of personal theology is community. Understanding and having an idea of both spiritual formation and community helps with the formation of personal theology of ministry. This paper will share five areas of theology and how they relate to practical theology in youth ministry. The five areas of theology include view of God, view of people, view of sin, view of redemption, and view of scripture.
“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35 ESV). The church should be a community of counselors where Biblical counseling is a regular event. Dr. Crabb emphasizes the necessity of a church community who exhorts, encourages, and educates each other as essential to Biblical counseling. Specifically how I would like to integrate this into my practice is not only to integrate Biblical content into my secession, but also to integrate into my counseling ministry a strong relationship with the local churches and to train Christians in the necessity of living in community for the thriving of
Intercultural Ministry: Even within a single religion or sect, different cultures have profoundly different approaches to religious practices. Intercultural ministry may involve traveling abroad to preach and evangelize, or just building relationships between members of a faith from different secular cultures. Pastoral Ministries: This course is an introduction to some of the responsibilities of church pastors and other clergy. Learning to minister to parishioners as a group, and provide the individual counsel that many expect from their religious leaders, is likely to be a large part of your career after you finish a degree in
A major problem is discrimination against LGBT youth (Cray, 3 Barriers) . They are constantly harassed both verbally - as shown by Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council claiming it’s appalling to tell LGBT youths that they’re not shameful (as done by the “It Gets Better” project) and comparing homosexuality to drug abuse (Hooper, The War) , by the president of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni calling gays “disgusting” after signing a strict anti-gay law and telling CNN reporters that he does, in fact, have prejudice against homosexuals (LGBTQnation, Uganda President) , by my own father comparing homosexuality as a whole to beastiality, and by both parents refusing to use a transgendered friend’s PGPs (Prefered Gender Pronouns) - and physically, shown in many public places: Schools, by 15 year old freshman Zach King’s beating (Ludlow, Gay Student’s Beating) , parties, by the assault and murder of Dwayne Jones, 16, of Ja...
