In case you didn't get enough drama in actual school, Minecraft has made a school mod of your own. The mod has blown up on Youtube with several videos receiving hundreds of thousands of views. If this is all news to you here are five things to know about it.
1. LITTLE KELLY FAILED HER MINECRAFT SCHOOL EXAM
Not that this should matter to you, but Little Kelly, the one responsible for this particular YouTube roleplay of Minecraft school failed her exam. Oh no. What are we to do. Maybe if she didn't spend so much time going to class in the real world, Little Kelly would have time to study for her virtual exam that doesn't exist. Some kids just never learn.
2. YOUTUBE LOVES THIS STUFF
As expressed earlier, viewers on YouTube are eating this

At least that seems to be the case for millions of YouTube viewers. It's not really any different than the average teen drama on Disney channel. Just take out the actors and add pixelated characters in a pixelated environment narrated by a pixelated person. Ok, so it might be a little different than Disney Channel teen dramas, but that's not stopping it from becoming popular.
4. PEOPLE HAVE A LOT OF FREE TIME
Where is all this free time people seem to have to lie around? It's not enough anymore to spend free time playing video games, but now people can watch others play video games. This could barely classify as a video game too. Minecraft School is more of a unique YouTube television experience. Perhaps these viewers don't have that much free time, but they just happen to spend it all watching this. To each his own.
5. LITTLE KELLY NEEDS TO GET HER STUFF TOGETHER
Come on Little Kelly. Looking at your video history, it looks like her life isn't exactly together. Little Kelly is failing exams, getting in fights with Sharky, fighting school bullies, turning into a boy and even getting married. For a girl in school, she certainly seems to get into some interesting situations. If she was any plans of going to college, Little Kelly needs to get her stuff in
Growing up wasn’t always easy for Kelly. She was the baby of the family, with four older brothers and sisters. Sitting in Catholic school, she tried to be the cute little girl she was supposed to be but on the playground, she was a terror. At the age of 5, she joined her first soccer league, which happened to be a boys’ team. Things stayed the same way until she got to high school. She began to notice boys and began to date. No one in her family had ever talked to her about the “birds and the bees,” or even about dating. Instead, independence, self-reliance, and strength were the most important things. If they had problems, they worked it out on their own. This served her poorly when she found herself in trouble with the Air Force years later. (pg. 9)
This story takes place in the distant future in 2157. Schools were closed down centuries ago, and now each child is being educated separately by a robot. Margie, a ten-year-old girl, hates being taught this way. Tommy, her neighbor, discovers a book about how school was in the old days and shows it to Margie. While reading the book, Margie is astonished of how different and unusual school was. Margie wishes she could go to this regular school. She dreams of sitting in a classroom with many other kids, having a human as a teacher, and having many friends. Since Margie hates being educated by a robot, and she is angry with the society she lives in for forcing her to do it the conflict is character vs. society. Margie regularly displays hatred to the robot-teacher. For example, while the county inspector visits her house to fix the broken teacher, Margie secretly hopes that he will permanently break it so that it would be taken away. As it states in the text, “Margie had hoped he wouldn’t know how to put it together again…” Margie hates every aspect of having a “black and ugly” robot teacher. She loathes the tests, the screen where all the lessons and questions were shown, and the slot where she put all the homework and test papers. This conflict against society is important in this short story because it strengthens the theme message. Since Margie hates being educated by a robot
Freaks and Geeks gives a new and realistic portrayal of adolescence in a nice small package of a television show. It strays from the media stereotype of adolescent by showing adolescent life in a new light. It reveals the lesson that many adolescents have to learn to become a mature adult, the choices they have to make that will affect their life in a major or minor way, and the struggles many endured that makes them take rash decision or lost in what they do. Freaks and Geeks is a show that I recommend to many who are sick of stereotypical shows that media broadcast on television.

Kelly Moore is a mom. On the outside, she may seem like an ordinary mom. Kelly cooks, cleans, chauffeurs, and cares for her family. Since she is accustomed to a busy life, she can most likely be found at, her oldest son, Eli’s basketball games, younger son, Emmett’s choir concerts, husband, Kirk’s Thursday night school meetings, or chasing after Oliver in the dog park. Juggling many events is one of her special talents.
When the documentary was produced, media exposure was limited to private and expensive mediums such as television, movies and radio. These outlets were plagued with marketing agendas designed to sell products under the guise of authentic music and entertainment. Formerly non-existent cultural archetypes such as the boy band, pop diva, and gothic artist were created and promoted by corporations with the intent to profit from their fame. This systematic fabrication of teenage culture was achieved through the monopolization of popular media by people and companies with money. This created a narrow and one-dimensional mainstream cultural media, limiting the prefere...
When I was younger, my favorite game to play was Minecraft. The game was a fun way to express myself and to make decisions like “It’s getting dark, maybe I should start heading home so I can sleep in my bed and avoid the mobs” and that’s most likely why I loved the game so much. I had the opportunity to do whatever I wanted and if I made a mistake the only consequence was to press “respawn” pretty simple right? At the time, yes, but as I matured and became curious, I wondered, could an online game possibly be the definition of life? Can something so many look for yet don’t find be right in the palms of my hands? Could Minecraft, a game that is made for children be the answer to a question asked for centuries?
Horsey’s cartoon captures an exaggerated view of what most public school classrooms look like today. With these exaggerations, Horsey is successful in demonstrating the apparent contrast in the ways the arts are treated in comparison to how standardized tests are treated. The machines on some children’s heads shows what schools want students to think about, tests and what they need to do to pass. This illustrates the issues of the current No Child Left Behind laws and epitomizes the way schools and students think.
and it appeals to this audience by being multi-generic (and more interesting) as people of this age need to have their mind stretched to keep them engaged within it. It also has slightly different appeals to each of the sexes; it appeals to teenage boys especially as Buffy is an attractive woman and it may appeal to girls as they may aspire to be like her 'an independent woman'.
Home schooling is another way for a child to receive his or her education. It is one of many alternatives to regular schooling (classrooms and schools). It is the oldest alternatives to regular schooling and one of the most effective. There are many true stories proving that home schooling is an effective and often successful way to teach you child. But first lets talk about home schooling began in the U.S.
Why might you ask? Well, I have three reasons which are that this show contains violence, a lot of ill-suited scenes, and they don’t have a positive role models kids can look up to. Sorry kids, but soon you’ll know why, and
To begin, the book Ready Player One portrays a dystopian society in the year 2045. Where every citizen has abandoned the real world because of their inability to cop up with the challenges to survive. For that reason, they have switched to virtual world where life is very smooth and easy. Wade (known as Parzival in the game) the protagonist in the book states “I never wanted to return to the real world. Because the real world sucked” ( ) OASIS, the game everyone plays in ready Player One has attracted one’s attentions, so much that the people are enjoying the virtual world and hating the actual one. On the other hand, there are few good effects of virtual technology. In the book, the school system was moved online and now it was easier for teachers to teach. Since, the game itself mutes the use of bad language and keeps everyone on task. It was surprising when “Mr Avenovich loaded up a stand-alone simulation. So that our class could witness the discovery of
“You’re going to pass the test, and if you don’t, no games until you pass the test next year.” My heart immediately dropped like a brick and my mind started to race. Games were my source of entertainment, and being cut off from them was like being exiled from society. The minute we got home, I raced to my room and started to make flashcards to study theory. For days, I studied non-stop, only stopping when necessary. Finally, the last group lesson arrived. Instead of finishing the usual one or two practice tests, I managed to finish five and I aced all of them.
Technology – as defined by the US National Academy of Science (cited in Jones 1996, p.17) –
Online games are not for entertainment purposes only. The majority of games are not designed for educational purposes. However, there are some games that are made for educational purposes to teach ethical/political issues to teenagers through a familiar medium. Teenagers also have to know when to play games and when to stop. It is a bad time to play games if a teenager hasn’t done his/her homework.
