You now know clearly that there are mindsets peculiar to the growth mindset. And that these mindsets will make a great difference between your past and your present; your present and the future. Following a clear understanding of those mindsets, you can think of other beliefs that come into play. These are the mindsets that have made people great. As researchers passionately research this topic, they found out that there are seven mindsets common to successful people. These are the mindsets that have seen them through life’s ups and downs and helped them to reach the heights we found them. It’s obvious more than ever before that happiness is not about the age, gender, religion, race, skills, or intelligence. It’s about your mindset. Really? …show more content…
Yes. You’ll soon see the effects of these peculiar mindsets in the lives of the contemporary great people as their lives reflect the seven core beliefs which shape their thinking pattern and their views of life. If you too want to be successful and happy, you must adopt those mindsets. Doing so will make the success flow your way. You’ll prosper in all your endeavors and will be happy for it. Now here are the core beliefs that form their mindset: 1. If you can think of it, it is possible 2. You first have must the passion 3. We’re all connected 4. You must be completely accountable 5.
You must always be grateful 6. Give more than you take 7. Act now and not later You can see how all of these mindsets and some of the ones we discussed earlier played out in the lives of people around us like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bill Gates, and Donald Trump just to mention a few. Since these men are with us right now, let’s shift attention to how their lives reflect these mindsets and borrow a leaf there as to how you can be successful like them. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Success Mindset Do you remember Arnold Schwarzenegger? You most likely remember him as the governor of California. He has become a household name because he decided to overcome the obstacles on his way that seemingly made his dream unachievable. Because he refused to take no for an answer, he appeared to have had a life success blueprint. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s success mindset saw him through the biggest challenges in life. Why did Schwarzenegger the bodybuilder win Mr. Universe three times and Mr. Olympia seven times? Why did the Austrian-born motion picture actor defeat incumbent Governor Gray Davis of California in 2003? He had the mindset of success and of a champion. Did you know that there was a time Arnold as a bodybuilder was allowed in the gym just three times a week? How could a professional bodybuilder succeed with that restriction? Being allowed to practice just 3 times a week! If you were in the situation that Arnold found himself, would you give up the pursuit of your career? Or would you
just be content and do only what you can with just three days of activity per week? You won’t do any of that if you had the mindset Arnold has? That’s my point. Instead of allowing himself to be discouraged, he constructed a personal gym at home and motivated himself by placing the posters of his role models in bodybuilding around the gym. This made up for the motivation he would have been missing because he wasn’t allowed at the public gym. Even at home, he could set his eyes and mind on his goal. Now, look at all that he had achieved in his bodybuilding career. If you have the success mindset and won’t accept no for an answer and you don’t give room for the naysayers in your life, you can go far in life. You can be successful! But how smooth was his route to stardom in Hollywood? It’s far from being smooth. He was once told by a bigwig in the movie industry to jettison his motion picture career because of two formidable reasons. First, his accent would be too difficult to understand. And secondly, his

Success is a very personalized term. It can be defined in many different ways and like itself there are also many ways to achieve it. Success is a term that everyone has a different opinion on but one thing remains the same: we all want to be successful. We all want to be good at the things we desire most. Two great activists for the cause of success are Arnold Schwarzenegger and Greg Plitt. Both are men who demand great respect. Not only for being at the top of their classes but for also going beyond that and topping many of the ranks for things they are passionate about. Their success not only was noticed but radiated into the minds of people and children everywhere inspiring them to be great. Though they may have their differences both men
In fact, he’s an outlier because he started from nearly nothing and depended solely on his determination to reach his goals. You’d probably be surprised to learn that Arnold Schwarzenegger was a small child and was rejected by his family, mainly because of his runty size. But Arnold’s unending desire and tireless determination allowed him to find a way to America to become an actor. Arnold reached his dream through bodybuilding, becoming one of the most famous bodybuilders to ever compete and the reason bodybuilding became so popular in the United States. Once he conquered the bodybuilding arena, he was able to break into acting. Arnold’s imposing and muscular stature meant he was the perfect choice for roles in action movies and he became one of the the most well-known and popular action stars on the big
“I want to go to Reardan, “I said again. I couldn’t believe I was saying it. For me, it seemed as real as saying, “I want to fly to the moon”. (46) This quote shows that Arnold is starting to change. He makes the decision to go to Rearden in hopes that he can get a better education and be able to someday make a better life for himself. This choice is a major turning point in Arnold’s life just as flying to the moon would be for an astronaut. Arnold also shows he changing when he states “Getting to school was always an adventure. After school, I’d ride the bus to the end of the line and wait for my folks. If they didn't come, I’d start walking. Hitchhiking in the opposite direction. Somebody was usually heading back home to the rez, so I’d usually catch a ride. Three times, I had to walk the whole way home. Twenty-two miles. I got blisters each time”. (87) Arnold is willing to go through all this trouble to get to school which shows that he is starting to change from a boy who had no hope of ever leaving the rez into one that will make sacrifices, such as making the long trek to school, in order to provide himself with a better
With numerous famous one-liners, such as “I’ll be back” in The Terminator, or “Get to the choppa!” in Predator, Arnold Schwarzenegger has made himself one of the biggest influences in modern entertainment. However, entertainment is not the only field that Schwarzenegger has prevailed in. Other fields that Arnold has made a name for himself in are bodybuilding and politics. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s rough childhood and strict determination led him to become one of the greatest bodybuilders and actors of all time. All of Arnold’s brilliant accomplishments in life have made him a role model for anyone who thinks they cannot accomplish what they want.
Matthew Arnold is said to be the beginning of popular culture in the modern age, as said by Storey. “Arnold significance is that he inaugurates a tradition, a particular way of seeing culture, a particular way of placing popular culture within the general field of culture.” This perspective is called the Arnoldian perspective (Storey, 2014, pg 18).
Arnie smiled for the camera, waved a massive American flag, and gave a full-on political speech, while adding catchphrases from his blockbuster hits. Then on the 17th of October 2003 Arnie was elected, by a wide margin, to be the Californian Governor. Throughout his lifetime so far, Arnold Schwarzenegger has provided the world with so many significant contributions and achievements of work ranging from acting, directing and producing to athletic competitions, business ventures and community service and now even Governor of California. From his early days as Mr. Universe to a well-respected patron of the arts to reigning box office champion, he expects the best from himself and inspires the best in others.

Total Recall was released in 1990 and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, one of the biggest Hollywood movie star in history. I was a big fan of Arnold because I was into weight lifting and Arnold was known for being one of the greatest bodybuilders. Arnold was the most prestigious title in bodybuilding, Mr. Olympia. Many of the bodybuilders today are bigger than Arnold was but they also have a larger midsection. Arnold had the freaky size in his arms and chest, but he also was small in the waist. Arnold Schwarzenegger has accomplished a tremendous amount in his lifetime and it all started when he was a kid wanting to move out of his house and live the kind of life that he wanted to live. Not the life he was being forced to live. He shows us multiple times that he constantly has to improve himself in anyway possible. That he is never satisfied with what he has already done. From him giving up his first love, bodybuilding, to move into the movie industry, then take a more serious note and try and help the state of California. It is inspiring and motivation to see what this man has accomplished in his life. It only makes me think what am I doing with my life.
Dweck is accurate when she mentions the importance of developing a growth mindset by stating students do better in school, it encourages children to take on challenges, and that one can become smarter. A growth mindset is when a person believes they can reach their potential ability by working hard and failure is a way for them to grow. Also, a growth mindset drives motivation and achievement for children and students. Therefore, if you don’t possess a growth mindset then you have a fixed mindset, which means you are afraid of new challenges and you will not be successful in life.

Arnold did not become Mr. Universe or the Governor of California all in one day. He always put time into his work, finding out what he needed to do to achieve his goal. This relates to his fourth goal: “Work your butt off.” Putting in work, no matter what the circumstance. He spoke about how he always fell down, but he never gave up. After all the experiences that he has endured, here is a quote that he has stuck with, “Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.” Arnold has always had the capacity to improve his skills in all
These mindsets have a large impact in our lives including my own! Even though a growth mindset is the ideal mindset, I consider myself to have more of a fixed mindset than a growth mindset.
