MG Collins, MG Hill, BG Brewer, Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, members of Congress and staffers, Family, and Friends- thank you for being here today.
I am an average person who stands here today because of timing and opportunities. Opportunities offered by many of you in attendance today. Opportunities throughout my military career, although very challenging, allowed me to be in the right place at the right time. The people responsible for these opportunities are too numerous to thank individually.
However, I will try to thank them collectively today.
First, – Mom, Mike, Dad, Beth - thank you. Thank you for the support and guidance throughout the years to help me understand that a challenge is actually an opportunity.
Second -To the Navy – Thank you for the opportunity to be alumni of The Best service academy our Nation has to offer… I do not think I have to remind any of my Army friends how

Thank you for allowing a Navy/Marine/Air Force officer the opportunity to serve with and beside you. To serve not only in garrison with some of the Army’s finest soldiers in the MSARNG, but also the privilege and honor to serve in combat with soldiers from the 3/509th and the 2/502nd. From the greatest memories in garrison to the worst memories from combat, I will forever be grateful to the Army for your acceptance and the opportunity provided to me to serve shoulder-to-shoulder with you.
Fifth- To the Air Force- Thank you. Thank you for looking past my many faults and ultimately entrusting me with not only the honor of promotion today but also the honor of commanding the Airmen of Team Gulfport.
Finally, I want to thank my family- Mindy, Dalton, and Hunner. Everyone knows the behind any average married man is an above-average wife. Well in the Military, describing a military spouse as above average is simply an injustice. We that wear the uniform, serve by the grace of God above and the support and love of our spouse at home. Thank you Mindy, I love
First off, I want to start out by thanking you for going through the CCTI. Even though this time honored tradition has change a lot over the years (For the good and the bad) it is still a important part of our service rich heritage that is staying alive because of you and your fellow PCPO’s. A lot of E-7s will not even take two month out of their busy lives to learn about what it really means to be a Chief.
As far back as I can remember, you have been my personal hero and I owe so much to you, not the least of which is a Marine Corps heritage for our family to include a fantastic career in the Corps for myself. Had it not been for the photos of you and Uncle Bernard in your dress blues, setting on the dresser at Grandma and Grandpa’s house, I may never have joined the Marine Corps. Looking at those photos every time I went there always made me proud of you and Uncle Bernard and were a continuous source of intrigue for me. Those photos along
Congratulations on your Eagle Scout! It takes a supportive and involved family to achieve that rank. Cole and I park cars at LSU home games and have met a few people from other troops, but so far, you are the first person we have met from Troop 65. Some adult men that I respect are Eagles and give their Boy Scout experience high praise for many life lessons. Hopefully, scouting will "balance" out Cole's life experience of being raised by women and give him practical life skills.
I was cadet midway but I got news within the 3rd Quarter he told me I would be the Battalion SGM for the rest of the remaining school year. Also, there was one Formation that will that I would have in my memory which was when I saved a cadet during the Formation. Because I showed how to be humble and became an example that no cadet would be left alone or feel bad about their errors. I realize that Jrotc is about help others when in need to help correct their errors so they won’t happened again. So when I became a Let 4 has to be the best year ever cause I was finally a Let 4 . My Let 4 was very good because I was a high Rank and had my picture on the board but what I loved the most was when I got promoted to be the Bravo Company commander. Being the Commander was an Honor because I had reach my goal in Jrotc to be a Commander any company and I hope I left a good impression for my Let 1,2,3. Jrotc isn’t a class is a family program where we all unite to become better citizen. I love Jrotc and I’m very proud that I had it for my whole 4 years in high school. I never forget my Instructors SGM Cooper & LTC Roger because they have help me a lot to grow up and I will always cherish them in my
But still, speaking here today on behalf of those who have served and those who continue to do so -- active, Reserve or Guard -- your presence here today, for this event, is indeed appreciated. It is appreciated more than you can know.
My journey into the Air Force was one that started off as a business transaction which transformed into one of duty, honor, and service. I have had the distinctive honor of leading joint forces to search for downed aircrew and leading multinational forces to increase combat capability on the Republic of Korea. I know that I am a part of the Air Force lethal force and am prepared to answer my nations calling in any way required.
In this essay I have explained how my background and values led me to a career in the United States Air Force, my most important experiences while serving, and how my job allows me to contribute to the larger Air Force mission. I look forward to continuing my career in the world’s greatest Air Force.
...ence, and the editorial work my Dad helped me do on this (and almost everything I write today), because boy do I need it! I’d also like to thank My Uncle for the hard work he’s put into leading the whole thing, and being a generally awesome uncle.

Thank you very much for the hospitality during Nick’s graduation week. We all had such a great time and are glad that the Goldman family could celebrate with us! It was great to see you again; may I remind you the Brave Old Army Team began a historic winning streak over Navy last time I was able to visit. We are all so excited to welcome Loren into our (sometimes crazy) family next year; it is easy to see where her personality and witty sense of humor originates. You all know how to have a great time!
Good afternoon, let me just start by saying that the kindness, support, friendship, and love extended to me and my family during this difficult time has really touched my heart- we are sincerely appreciative!
Now I have one thing to ask of you. Tonight, as we cross this finish line before us and set forth upon our next journey, strive to make a difference. Get involved to make our country a better place. Use teamwork to bring our people and the whole world together. I know to me personally, making a difference in our country and our world is paramount. Next week, I leave for the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.
Before I begin I would like to thank all of you here on behalf of my mother, my brother and myself, for your efforts large and small to be here today, to help us mark my fathers passing.
“One of the things I do is present recognition for superior performance by the officers,” said Funk. “When these awards are presented, I want to bring them to your attention. Sometimes all we hear are negative things and I want to mention some of the positive things.”
