The social problems behind the military suicide
I am very shocked, when I listen the lecture about the military suicide. This lecture focus on the horrible situation about the military suicide. A big part of the soldiers does not die in the war but in the peaceful military. People in the USA do not care about the military suicide until late 1970s to early 1980s. I find two social problems in this lecture. First is the military does not pay much attention on the mental health of the soldiers. Second is the government does not have many good policies to help veterans.
First of all, the military does not pay much attention on the mental health of the soldiers. When the soldier came back from the war, most of the soldiers would not be relax and

The government overlooks the situations of ex-soldiers in normal lives, and the ex-soldiers can not get back to normal lives. As we know, the life in military is very different from the life in normal society. The normal people can not image how cruel and horrible the war and military is. On the one side, many of the veterans suffer from disability, however the government does not provide job opportunities to these people with honor. A really big part of them get the PTSD, they got great achievements in the War to the country. They want to devote themselves into the country, even if, they lost their lag or arm. Nonetheless, the government treats them like the good-for-nothing. The government ignores them. Most of them kill themselves, because they can not find the personal value of themselves to the country. On the other side, when many higher officers retired, the government gives them some insignificant jobs. Everyone in the military respect the higher officers, their words are the only law in soldiers’ minds. The higher wardrooms are the big deal of the entire military. When they retired, the government never treats them like before. No one in the new work place respect them as heroes. Their prides are destroyed, so many of them get suicide. In conclusion, the social problem about the government ignorance about the veterans also causes the high rate of military
War has been a constant part of human history. It has greatly affected the lives of people around the world. These effects, however, are extremely detrimental. Soldiers must shoulder extreme stress on the battlefield. Those that cannot mentally overcome these challenges may develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Sadly, some resort to suicide to escape their insecurities. Soldiers, however, are not the only ones affected by wars; family members also experience mental hardships when their loved ones are sent to war. Timothy Findley accurately portrays the detrimental effects wars have on individuals in his masterpiece The Wars.
America is the land of opportunity and the land of second chances. People come to America to live a better life, but it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. When Veterans come back home, all they want is a second chance at life again. They want to come back and be able to start from where they left off. But the government has done very little to help these veterans. The government believes they have done enough with the programs they have created, but it hasn’t had much of a change. The purpose of this essay is to discuss my opinion and what I know about this issue, to benefit The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, who are my intended audience. If the government were to put a lot of effort, like they do for pointless issues, there wouldn’t be many struggling veterans. If the government does more to improve every aspect of the reintegration process of veterans, so many benefits would come out of this action. There are a couple of reasons for why we should work toward improving veterans lives. First, there would possibly be a decrease in the veteran suicide levels and a decrease in the substance abuse aspect. Second, less veterans and families will have to worry about living and struggling with mental illnesses. Third, by improving the economical aspect for these veterans, more will find jobs and less will end up on the street homeless. And lastly, the reintegration process won’t be as hard for these veterans, and they will be able to resume a normal life. This essay is not meant to offend in any way, its purpose is to provide a new perspective over this issue, to cause a change for the better.
Veterans who have long services and are influenced by the military’s training have struggles with their civilian life after separating the military. They have to start from the beginning with their stressful, impatient, and painful. On the other hand, our Congress have mandated some benefits for all veterans to share their endurance. However, there are some reasons that many veterans cannot get any benefits from the government like some homeless veterans can’t afford themselves and their family, which is telling our society need to care more about them. For the reason that, our society should take more action to help veterans because of their services and scarified

Not only have these men and woman risked their lives for our country, but now, return different people and can not comprehend whether or not to continue their lives. Many people believe we win wars, when in actuality, no one does, especially those who serve in the armed forces (Suicide Wall, 11-10-2000). The Vietnam and other wars have mentally and sometimes physically dismembered many veterans. Another factor that plays a role in a war-related suicide is the addition of many on-site diseases such as defoliants, Agent Orange in particular. Made up of equal parts N-Butyl Ester 2,4,-D
It is said that the cause of the catastrophic stock market crash known as the great depression was due mostly to uncontrolled political and industrial systems otherwise known as capitalism. However, the timeline leading up to the Great Depression proves that many other factors played a role in the stock market crash that occurred in the decade of the 1930's. So lets take a look at rather four, factors contributing to the great depression that we will further discuss in the following paragraphs. Four of the main causes that led up to the great depression were unequal distribution of wealth, uncontrolled political and industrial systems, high tariffs and war debts.
It was December 31, 1928, and financial leaders everywhere celebrated what had been a decade of prosperity and boundless optimism. They thought the party would last forever. They called it the new era. In 1929, all the hope and promise and the illusions of the 1920’s changed that. This was the first time many ordinary people were able to buy stock and they were interested in the stock market. A stock is a share of a company bought and sold at the floor of the stock exchange. Also, during the 1920’s, credit was introduced and the stock market was booming. What caused the worst depression in history? What events led up to the economic failure? Was the government aware that the crash was coming? Traditionally, President Roosevelt has been lauded as a savior of the economy and one of the greatest presidents the United States have had. However, there is another way to look at the causes of the Great Depression.

If the president and the stock market crash did not cause the Great Depression, then what did? According to research done on the Great Depression, the causes rest on of different factors, but can be put under two main categories. The responsibility for the Great Depression falls not only on the Stock Market Crash, but also on the maldistribution of wealth, an unstable economy and the wild stock market practices of the 1920’s.
Many people think that the Great Depression was caused solely by the stock market crash. Anybody who tells you this probably didn’t pass U.S. History in high school. The fact is, the Great Depression was caused many different factors. Four of which were overproduction, uneven distribution of wealth, protective tariffs, and the four “sick industries” of the 1920’s.
Wounds, fire, tanks, sweat, letters, distance, cold, training, effort; all these terms are the cause of all psychological aftermath in veterans. Most of the veterans who make it back home alive, come back with their psychological health dead, as well as some make it back alive with their psychological health better than ever. The amount of psychological damages for veterans are sometimes more the expected than the real, and sometimes financial benefits play a big role in finding out which exact soldiers really suffer from these post war effects.
At war time, Roosevelt demanded that good military jobs were given minorities. With these jobs came fair compensation and respectable benefits. When Pearl Harbor was bombed it transformed the U.S. economic and social status for good. Some say that the bombing of Pearl Harbor marked the end of the Great Depression. When the World War II began troops were needed. Men were drafted and women were needed to work in factories and stayed behind to sustain the family.
There are two main threads of suicide. The social or institutional suicide and individual or
The Great Depression was a period of first-time decline in economic movement. It occurred between the years 1929 and 1939. It was the worst and longest economic breakdown in history. The Wall Street stock market crash started the Great Depression; it had terrible effects on the country (United States of America). When the stock market started failing many factories closed production of all types of good. Businesses and banks started closing down and farmers fell into bankruptcy. Many people lost everything, their jobs, their savings, and homes. More than thirteen million people were unemployed.
