Miley Cyrus is an American singer and actress. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee. Her father is a famous country singer, Billy Ray Cyrus, known for his smash hit "achy breaky heart," in the 90's. Her mother is Tish Cyrus. She is currently 22 years old and throughout her childhood she was a part of a hit show "Hannah Montana" on Disney Channel. Since then she has gone on to sell several successful albums and go on world tours. She is currently in the process of shedding her Disney channel image and focusing on a more adult career. When talking about Miley Cyrus's personality, according to the Freud psychoanalytic viewpoint, it is important to remember the unconscious effects. Miley Cyrus moved with her family from Canada to Tennessee to live on a farm when she was a young girl, so her father could continue pursuing his acting. He landed a role on the show Doc, a television series. Miley was immediately open to the television production industry and wanted to follow in her father's footsteps. During the time of filming, she was going through what Freud would call the latency period in psychosexual development. This meant that Miley was channeling

her sexual energy towards other academic activities. She spent time doing acting classes. Later that year, she was cast for the lead role in the series Hannah Montana. Billy Ray played her father on the TV show as well. A second psychosexual stage that Freud would argue that Miley Cyrus was developing would be the Phallic Stage.
It may seem very well that Miley had penis envy growing up around her father and their acting, which is another reason why she wanted to follow in the footsteps of her father. This theory suggests that women feel inferior to men because they do not have the same gentile. This explains why Miley may have been motivated to continue pursuing her acting and has motivated her and is the reason for how she landed her current role in her career. Some may also argue that due to Miley's recent behavior, that she may have a disorder and be somewhat obsessed with the genitals and phallic
objects. Despite being raised on a farm and working with her best friend, her dad. Miley has had many controversies in the news over the past couple of years. These controversies mostly involve Miley being hyper sexual. For example, a picture of Miley Cyrus with her legs spread open and her tongue sticking out is directly posted onto her Instagram account for her billions of followers to see. Let's not forget about the raunchy finger and "dancing" performance at the 2014 Video Music Awards that shocked and stunned everyone. Freud would say this act was a direct response from her libido. This theory suggests sexual desire. Mileys sexual desire, or libido, has caused her to act out in a way that is not socially acceptable or appropriate. In reply to this controversy, Miley explained that she was shedding her good girl Disney image and just goofing off. There have also been many other instances where Mileys libido has come over her, such as her fixation with oral stimulus and putting things in and near her mouth. Freud would argue that Miley has an oral disorder because in another controversy she is seen smoking marijuana and tobacco products. In reaction to Mileys explanation for why she acted out in a sexual manner is a direct example of a defense mechanism. She has the 'regression' defense mechanism because she returned to immature behavior patterns after trying to shed her good girl Disney image. Miley is in freuds concept because she is determined, her new, inappropriate ego deals with personal anxiety and conflicts, she urges for immediate release of energy that will bring pleasure, her behavior is determined by unconscious motiviations and she has the regression defense mechanism.

Adolescent egocentrism can occur when teenagers think they have an imaginary audience or think people are more concerned with their appearance and behavior than they really are. In the movie Mean Girls, Regina George, Gretchen Wieners, Cady Herron, and Karen Smith are referred to as the "plastics" by their fellow classmates because of their self-absorbed personalities and glamorous looks. They have a book titled "The Burn Book" in which they talk about everyone in the school in a very nasty way. They believe that these people are concerned with how they look and act at all times. Gretchen Wieners said, "I'm sorry that people are so jealous of me...but I can't help it that I'm so popular." In the beginning of the film, Cady has a very humble personality in which her true friends admire. However, as the movie progresses Cady begins to think that everything she does is important to all of he...

Lohan had a desire to make sure she set a good image because she knew the audience in which she was most desired by was the younger “tween” crowd. Also, her younger sister looked up to her so Lohan wanted to make sure she was setting a good example; all while she wanted to be normal and not set off a fake image (Current Biography, 2005).
Whitney Houston to most was a very amazing and talented person who allowed life and its mishaps break her down. As a young girl she grew up in the church where she felt like it was a sign from God that she should be singing. Freud believes that religion is an illusion, an attempt to gain control over the external world. In his eyes saying that anything is a sign from God depends on how you vision life. There were times in her life where she would produce more music just to get thru the thing that she would be going through. She would use her music as a defense mechanism to get away from all of the abuse, problems with her marriage, neglect, and drugs. Defense mechanisms are ways to distort reality to reduce anxiety: Rationalization is giving a positive reason to a stressor and regression is withdrawing from reality and going to pastime.
A substantial influence in preserving this notion of culture as a trend comes in part from the impact of celebrity and popular culture. When discussing celebrity influence in her interview, hooks primarily discusses Madonna’s use of black culture to reproduce her image. Currently, this idea of appropriating culture to redefine a celebrity’s stardom is most associated with Miley Cyrus. In a recent interview with Vibe magazine, Timothy and Theron Thomas, the writers and producers behind Miley Cyrus’s hit single “We Can’t Stop,” discussed her new music. They stated that Cyrus had wanted something “that was urban, something that felt black (Platon),” an arguably good business move because she is now more famous than she has ever been. However, Cyrus’s new level of fame does not solely generate from hooks’ belief in America’s obsession with blackness. It also correlates with hooks’ discussion of the black woman’s experience in Ain’t I a Woman: Black Women and Feminism. Black women are presumably the lowest ranking in the social system of hierarchy. Thus American consumers, who are primari...

The transformation from Hannah Montana to Miley Cyrus has caused her to change her appearance, morals, and music.
"Music is what I breathe, what I love to do. It keeps me alive, " Miley Cyrus once said. Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, knew even as a baby, Miley could sing (Miley Cyrus Quotes). She was introduced to fame at a very young age and is now still growing up in front of the world. She was born Destiny Hope Cyrus because her parents believed she would achieve greatness (Miley Cyrus Biography). They had a lot of hope and promise for their young daughter. It is hard having everyone watch your every move and being constantly photographed, but she deals with it because she loves what she does. Miley Cyrus has led a very unique life both through her childhood and teen life.
Continuing, she did a photoshoot for the cover of Vanity Fair, which resulted in controversy because parents did not want their daughters to imitate Miley. This was a precursor to Miley 's now reconstructed star text because she understood that controversy brought in a lot of attention, and she embraced it whether it was good or bad. That 's why she no longer wanted to be the stereotypical-looking woman, so she cut her hair short, got tattoos all over her body, and started dressing provocatively and doing nude photoshoots. She started to change up her songs from strictly pop and country music to doing R&B, rap, and unclassifiable genres. This led her to working with many people from all over the entertainment industry, predominantly with African Americans. Since changing genres, she started singing and rapping about partying and smoking marijuana, which she would be spotted doing with some of the rappers she rapped with. She made twerking, sticking one 's tongue out to the side, and foam fingers cool, which is apart of her controversial and outlandish brand. Overall, Miley Cyrus reconstructed her star text in order to stay relevant in today 's ever-changing
It is probable that if Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung were to evaluate Britney Spears, they would affirm that her psychopathology is an undeviating product of her id, which according to Freud functions under the pleasure principle and is the starting place of natural human drives and desires, being too powerful. At an incredibly juvenile age...

Miley Ray Cyrus was born on November 28, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee. When she was growing up, as a small child, she was given the nickname “Smiley” because she was always smiling. It later got shortened to “Miley” as she had gotten older. On January 29, 2008 she changed her biological name. Her biological name is Destiny Hope Cyrus. She changed Destiny to Miley because she wanted it to always be a reflection on her life. The last path is to reinvent themselves. According to Smalley and McIntosh, reinventing is when the celebrity “doesn’t attempt to capitalize on their former fame by becoming their public self”, and also requires a “strong core self that remains relatively intact through their fame”(Smalley and McIntosh, 391). Conveniently Miley possesses both qualities. All Miley’s life she wanted to be a role model to her audience, whether it be a positive/negative role model for young preteens or young women. Also she exclaims no further interest in the identity given to her by Disney, but rather wanted to reveal his true self. While interviewed by the Daily Star Sunday Cyrus has discusses her true feelings about her public-given ego given by her role given by Disney stating “they try to make someone not grow up, but you can’t do that to real, normal people.”(Celebuzz). Miley wanted to no longer be seen as an immature teenager, but redefine herself as a mature women to be taken seriously after her prominent role in Hannah Montanna. Therefore, Miley Cyrus has completely pivoted from being a Disney star and did a 180 degree turn toward becoming an infamous “Wild Child”. “I went from people just thinking I was, like, a baby to people thinking I’m this, like, sex freak that really just pops molly and does lines all day. It’s like, ‘Has anyone ever heard of rock ’n’ roll?’ (Huffington Post). However, she doesn’t do these controversial things for her personal benefit, she does it for her publicity. Perhaps later in her career when she actually becomes mature, and loses her fame, she will attempt to regain it back by becoming a role model for adult females who have the ability to demonstrate female equality. With the ever increasing support of feminism currently happening in the United States she could become a women’s advocate once her singing career is over.
