Obama Came in Like a Wrecking Ball Now a days, it seems as though Miley Cyrus just “can’t be tamed.” She quickly transitioned from having the “best of both worlds,” playing both ordinary teen girl Miley Stewart and world-wide pop star Hannah Montana on Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana, to “doing her ‘thang’” as a wildly popular and unique entertainer. Furthermore, how did sweet little Hannah Montana turn into the wild, provocative Miley Cyrus that we all know today? The answer is easier than one may think—Obama. Ever since President Barack Obama took office in January 2009, Miley Cyrus has changed for the worse. So thanks, Obama, for killing the image of Hannah Montana. Conversely, when Barack Obama was elected and took office in January 2009, Cyrus began to go downhill. Even though the PRESIDENT????? is supposed to set an example and lead the country in a positive way, Obama has not had a very positive influence on pop culture. One can conclude this by his corruption of Miley Cyrus. In June 2008, just months before Obama was elected, fifteen-year-old Miley Cyrus was featured on the front cover of Vanity Fair, showing a topless back. (citation) This is arguably the beginning of her downfall. It is no coincidence that as soon as Obama was elected and took office, scandalous Miley Cyrus became more and more common. Further, the release of her new song “Can’t Be Tamed” and its music video in June 2010, just five months after Obama took Office, shocked the nation.
