In the book Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry by Mildred D Taylor, Jeremy showed Stacey that not all white children are rude and blunt to black children and in return Stacey was actually showing Jeremy that it pays off to be nice. Even when Lillian Jean told Jeremy to stay away from Stacey that did not stop the friends from getting together. Even when Papa and T.J told Stacey that Jermey that did not stop him from anything. That proves that kindness will always win in the end.
Courage is having to stand up for people who are being treated unfairly or if they have different skin color. In Mildred Taylor’s book Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry Stacey has to show courage by standing up for his friends and family. Stacey is a seventh grader at Great Faith Elementary School and is the oldest Logan kid. when Papa is gone he feels like he needs to be the man of the house and watch out for his younger siblings. Lucia Raatma’s “The Battles of Lexington and Concord” is important because it describes why the battles were fought and their effects. The American Revolution as a whole was fought to “give colonies freedom from British rule” (Raatma 4) due to unfair taxation from King III of England (Raatma 8). This shows that the driving force of the revolution was the dissatisfaction of the colonists concerning the treatment they received from the king. As a result, the colonists had had enough of the unfairness and tyranny and decided to take matters into their own hands. Several acts of protests, such as the Boston Tea Party, made the British king “furious” (Raatma 10). As a response to these protests, the king sent more soldiers and made stricter laws, which only made colonists even more upset. The back and forth tension between the colonists and the British government was the reason why the Battle of Lexington and Concord occurred, and in turn, why the American Revolution began. The American Revolution caught attention from the entire world, giving the nickname to the first shot fired the “shot heard ‘round the world” (Raatma 5). The 13 colonies who were weak economically and militarily, were taking on Great Britain, a world power with a strong military, a situation which naturally other countries wanted to see. The firing of the first shot at Lexington marked the beginning of a revolution that other countries, such as France and Haiti, would soon attempt to mimic. There were several factors that contributed to the beginning of the revolution, which are significant around the world.
In the book, “Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry” by Mildred D. Taylor, a character in the story that makes me angry is Miss Crocker. The reason Miss Crocker makes me angry in the story is because she doesn’t understand why Little Man and Cassie are upset about their books. She doesn’t look at it from their perspective. Cassie Logan and Little Man Logan both are unhappy about their books because they thought that they were getting brand new books instead of old worn down books. Also they were upset that before they had their book, on the chart, all white people had the book before them and then when they looked at where the race of student was, on the last column, it says for them “nigra” and that upsets them
A Century of Dishonor is a non-fiction book that was written by Helen Hunt Jackson and was first published in 1881. It focuses on the experiences the Native Americans had in the US, specifically on the injustices they faced while coming into contact with expansionist Americans. It consists primarily of the tribal histories of seven different tribes and describes their varied treatment respectively. For example, one of the incidents it depicts is the attack of Praying Town Indians in the colonial period, who, even though they converted to Christianity, were nevertheless eradicated.
TJ is not only thoughtless, he is also quite sly and knows how to get
and make fun of black elders. And would talk to them any kind of way.
The Confessions of Nat Turner Throughout history people have published articles and books in order to sway the public to their side. Rulers such as Stalin and Mao used propaganda to keep themselves in power; people such as Thomas Paine used articles in order to start revolution. Thomas R. Gray, author of The Confessions of Nat Turner, had that power when he interviewed Turner.
Beryl Markham’s West with the Night is a collection of anecdotes surrounding her early life growing up as a white girl in British imperialist Africa, leading up to and through her flight across the Atlantic Ocean from East to West, which made her the first woman to do so successfully. Throughout this memoir, Markham exhibits an ache for discovery, travel, and challenge. She never stays in one place for very long and cannot bear the boredom of a stagnant lifestyle. One of the most iconic statements that Beryl Markham makes in West with the Night is:
Deep South of America, in the 1930's and covers a year in the life of

Throughout chapter five of Mildred Taylor’s Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry the main character, Cassie Logan, a member of a black family in 1933, shows a lot of innocence and misunderstanding of the world around her.
When someone is being treated unfairly, it is wise to show courage by standing for them. Courage is doing something even when it is frightening. Over the course of the novel, Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry, Mildred Taylor uses Stacy Logan as an example of the oldest boy that must stand up for his convictions even though there were many injustices against him and his entire family. Stacy provides this courage by giving his coat to T.J even though he could have been punished, and when he discouraged T.J from cheating. Stacys actions prove that he is the oldest kid in the family ,and he thinks he needs to be responsible for keeping others in line. He is a smart kid by thinking of clever and tricky ideas on how to protect himself and all those

They also have land that the most powerful man in towns wants and tries to get the land. Also is about the three kids growing up learning about racism. Courage is the ability to do something that frightens one. I believe this means faceing pain and keep moving on through the pain.
