Head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has coached the team for eight years. During those eight years as the Steelers head coached he has taken them to two super bowls and has won one of them. Tomlin does not crack under pressure and always has a plan for what the team is going to next. The players and coaches on his team respect him and are loyal to him and his decisions. Also, Mike Tomlin is bold and has great leadership, which helps out his reputation and how his players trust in him and his decisions.
Tomlin does not panic under pressure or a deficit. The Steelers do not try to force things while Tomlin has been the head coach. With Tomlin being able to withstand the pressure of a big football game, makes me have a lot of respect for him. Over the past eight years as the Steelers have come back a lot and that shows that they are never out of a game. This is another trait that shows if you try hard in life you can always come back. Some circles call them the “CIA” of football because they never divulge the full details of what is going on with the team where their players or any issues are concerned. Bellichick and Craft are both on the same page when it comes to how they want to accomplish their goals and that ties into their successful run. Their cohesion also explains his long tenure with the team (fifteen years), compared to the four coaches the Cowboys have had within that same time span. Success at the highest level is what really determines the value of the team.
For as long as I can remember I have been a Notre Dame football fan. My father is to credit for getting me into it. He brought us to South Bend a couple of time for some games and I was just amazed by the campus and the history of the football program, so it was no surprise that I chose this particular book. Shake Down The Thunder: The Creation of Notre Dame Football was written by a man named Murray Sperber who was a sports writer interested on why fans were so into college football. Because of his interest Sperber decided to go around the country to certain college campuses to do research on this. He started with the University of Notre Dame because he was aware of the history and the passion of their football program, he was also aware of the appreciation Notre Dame had from their fans. This book deals with they history of Notre Dame football including the nation championships, the players, the coaches, and the program itself. It explains exactly what happened thought out its history, the reality behind the myths so to speak. Notre Dame was very kind to Murray Sperber in that he was given many privileges that other authors of books regarding Notre Dame football were deprived of. These privileges allowed Sperber to do research on Notre Dame from a different point of view and in his research he found documents that jumpstarted his interest to actually write this fantastic book.

From September 11, 1924 (Moritz 270), through the late 1960’s, Tom Landry accomplished a lot of things in his life, and set new trends for many years to come. Whether it be transforming from player to coach, and leading way for years to come and different programs; Tom Landry had experienced it all. ...orts. He set firsts for some things and re-iterated others. He is still a very large contributing influence in the football world today. He is currently a NFL analyzer. He is very smart and knowledgeable. But he didn't get to where he is now without struggle. Power and fame almost ruined him. Yet he was able to bounce back and use his experience to learn from and shape his future and create a positive outcome. He made it positive not only for himself but for others as well. He set his goals and was determined. One thing
Stability for the Steelers not only comes from winning, but also how that winning has come about. Since 1969, the Steelers’ have had just a total of three head coaches running the team ("Pittsburgh Steelers Team Encyclopedia” ). This is crucial in sports because it shows control of the locker room and good relationships between players and coaches. When a coach is around for such a long time it means that players respect him, he wins, and he has a good relationship with management. This is a great example of how the Steelers are a stable organization that knows how to run a football
Joe Paterno has found a way to win in college football. More importantly, he has found a way to win and keep his morals and the morals of the University. Paterno could have retired two years ago, after he reached victory number 324.
Coaching any sport is much harder than it seems. There are some jobs that almost anyone with the right education can do. Coaching is definitely not one of those jobs. One can get educated on drawing X's and O's on a paper for decades and still might be far from being a successful coach. Of course knowledge of the sport is very important too but to be successful in a job like coaching, one has to dedicate himself to his job; his job has to be his life. This is the major reason even those who hate Patriots still respect Bill Belichick and agree that he had unique abilities that make him so successful. His exceptional intelligence, his ability to break down and exploit game film, his singular discipline and his almost unmatched work ethic makes him probably the best coach in the NFL today and even one of the best in the history of the NFL.
The game is tied, there are only three seconds left on the clock, and they have a mere ten yards left to score. The players look to the quarterback as he runs onto the field with the final play of the game. It is times like these that most people look for a leader to lead them to victory. However not all leaders are on the field. Throughout history there have been many leaders and they all share some of the same qualities. Those qualities are bravery, experienced, and dedicated. Without these qualities those leaders would been ineffective.
In conclusion Tom Brady is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He helped the Patriots win many records, games, and Super Bowls. Ever since he joined the team they have been one of the top teams in the NFL. He is the Patriot’s secret weapon, and without him this team wouldn't have ever won any games. Tom Brad is and always will be the best quarterback in
The Broadcast world has seen many iconic figures come into the spectrum. Baseball had Bob Costas, Basketball has had many former players come and go into the roles of key broadcaster but none of them could compare to this one man who would bring his natural talents of his voice and ability to communicate what was truly going on in a game like John Madden. John Madden had the background as a former player and coach that would give him an outlook on the game of football that no one has ever had. John was a incredibly easy person to listen to because he did not sound like some of the announcers of the time who only went by the books on how broadcasting was suppose to be presented. John Madden tested the limits of broadcasting to bring a view of the game that no one has ever presented to the NFL fans.
Coach K gave numerous examples on different leadership styles he believes helps a leader be great. The style that I believe I will be more susceptible to using is situational leadership. Being that I want to become Mike Krzyzewski, coaching calls for a leader who is able to handle different scenarios and situations. Coach K teaches you how to handle those different things that will occur during your season. I believe that being a situational leader helps you become the transformational leader; the other leadership style Krzyzewski mentions in the novel. Both leadership styles complement one another being the situations you deal with help you transform you team and staff into a well-oiled machine. I recommend anyone that has a future in leadership to read this great informational book. With Coach K winning 5 National Championships, 12 Final Four Regional Championships, 13 ACC Tournament Championships and 3-time Naismith College Coach of the Year; his resume speaks for itself, you can only imagine the vital information you can gain from someone of his caliber . He is a prime example of what it means to showcase exceptional
