Miep gies was born on February 15 and when she was little she was sent to the Netherlands to a foster family due to a very bad illness that killed her birth parents. Miep gies was a hero of the holocaust because she kept the franks hidden in her office building and kept them feed with illegal ration cards.
Though miep gies was only supposed to stay with this foster family for only three months she well surpassed that three months and moved with them to Amsterdam. When she was about 16 she returned to her home town to see what she had missed though she could not enjoy her stay for she got a bad illness. She was very happy to hear abbot her birth parents once saying that they were happy with the family that adopted her.

Miep decided to be there helper and bring them food for as long as they needed. As miep worked in the mill the franks were helping produce products in the basement as appreciation for mieps action to help them. She was able to keep them hidden for two years but someone ratted them out and on august 4, 1944 and he franks were takin away to concentration camps. Miep found Anne frank’s diary and kept it when the franks would return but months later she found out only the father had lived and she gave him the diary to keep Anne frank’s memory alive.
Miep gies dies in 2010 on her 101th birthday in a nursing home. She received many awards late in her life for protecting the franks as well as she could. Before she passed away she would teach students about the holocaust and the tragic events that had occurred many of the students referred to her as a hero but she insisted that she was not for she couldn’t save them all. Every august 4th miep and her husband would go to the memorial place and respect those that were lost in the
