Greeting Hi, I’m Ben VanPelt and I have been attending Five Oaks for 10 years. Thank you to all of you for coming to listen to our speeches today and I hope you will enjoy mine. I remember the first day I attended Five Oaks. I was four years old, had moved from Pittsburgh a year earlier and I was very nervous. I remember as Mrs. Swati gave me a cubby tag, I chewed on my finger, I was so intimidated. Little did I know that this was the start of an incredible ten year long experience that I will cherish forever. I remember at the beginning of sixth grade, we had just moved into our new Middle School building and we were moving things around. I saw Sydney Pinochet sitting alone trying to untie a huge knot. I began to help, as she was struggling. Untying knots isn’t as thrilling as it seems, so I brung up the subject of how mean I was. Sydney said I could never be mean and I took this as a challenge. This started Kalickifi, my alter ego who is mean and one day hopes, I mean will, rule the world. I would leave sticky notes for Sydney saying Kalickifi was here, which may or may of not helped establish a new class rule, and made Sydney my …show more content…
Joseph's Catholic High School along with my friends and Emily, Laney and Jeffery. I want to play for the soccer team and participate in special events .I hope to successful and think St. Joe’s is the right school for me to continue what Five Oaks has given me. Mrs. Jennifer, you taught me not only simple skills, but how to apply them and do them my best. Mrs. Kim, you are so important to me and my family. I will forever miss your humor, patience and kindness. You saw potential in me when all my work wasn’t showing it and helped make me the student I am today. Mrs. Karlee, from Lower El to now, your smile and personality doesn’t cease to make me happy, I will miss you very much. Mrs. Joanne, you showed me tough-love and improved my work ethic. You never stopped pushing me and prepared me for what lied
I have been in this school since kindergarden. I have been here long enough to see our school win the state title for football and I”ve also seen our school locked down. There is the good and the ugly in every story, and what side you choose to pick will make your life easier or a very long road to glory.
My fellow classmen, as we look back on our years here at school we should remember the meaningful words of a fellow class member of mine when she said, "Dude, where's my iPod?" It's hard for me to think of a better way to describe the many layers of adolescence, because deep down aren?t we all "dudes?" Do we not all have our inner "iPods", and are we not constantly searching for them? Now, we're leaving our childhood behind to study the vast sphere we call planet Earth, into the notorious world of high school, where things will be so much different. Of course we will still have our varied studies, Geometry, Biology, maybe even Forensics or an Accelerated English class here and there. We will still struggle with the daily setbacks formed by peers and strict teachers and principals. But so much of our lives will change. The cars in the parking lot will be driven by, well, students. Our male friends will grow a little fuzzy around the face, and of course, our day will most likely begin with a bell that actually works.
Looking back on my three years at Twin Cities Academy, I find myself wondering how all these years came and went so fast. I still watch myself walking through the same halls and sitting in the same classrooms as I did back in 6th and 7th grade and I’ve seen myself grow so much, mentally, socially and physically. I still remember everything that has happened throughout my years, the best of times, and the worst.
When I was in elementary school, I loved to read. I was a total nerd back then ... okay maybe I still am, but one thing has changed. Now I don't so much like reading. My favorite poet was Shel Silverstein, who wrote "Where the Sidewalk Ends." He seemed like he was a total hippie, but that's cool because I like hippies. My grandma is a recovering hippie. I like her too. Anyway, Shel Silverstein wrote about the coolest things. He wrote about magical erasers, eating whales and a boy with long hair flying away from people who were taunting him. He captured all of the things that I loved without knowing that I actually loved them. Now you may ask, how does this hippie relate to our graduation? Well, he wrote a poem entitled "Traffic Light" and this is how it goes:
Mrs. Brock you are and always will be my favorite teacher and coach. When I first started basketball believe it or not I was terribly nervous to have to try out. The first day of tryouts was over and I realized how much fun this journey would be. Your passion and dedication shines and everyone on the team looks up to you. Let me start out by saying I’m going to miss you so so so so so much. You helped me in basketball so much by pushing me to be my best. Although there are sometimes where I didn’t believe in myself you did. Also, thank you for keeping me motivated when I wanted to give up. I will never forget how you can always make anyone smile anytime. I have many memories that I will never ever forget about basketball
My name is Farid Estefan. I am looking for a great experience in High School. I hope to increase my abilities in academics and athletics at Saint John Vianney High School while maintaining good behavior and morals. At Saint John Vianney, I am excited to be a part of clubs because I’ll be able to do what I love with others.
At the moment I am a Senior at Patterson High School, I moved to Patterson in 2010 to start my first year of middle school at Creekside. Six years of living in Patterson, I can tell you that High School changed my life the most by giving me many opportunities to succeed. These opportunities would be learning Personal Finance with Mr. Toste which was a great experience, another opportunity would be sports. Wrestling which is my main sport, I am one of the Varsity Captain of the team, that also taught me determination and if you try hard enough anything is achievable. My hobbies would include being outdoors, photography, and ziplining. I work at Pizza Plus to pay my future tuition, insurance bill, and personal items. I feel like Patterson High has nurtured me since Freshman year and now that I am a senior i'm prepared for college and every task ahead of me.
Legacy: Well can't believe it's my final year here but I would like to thank the lady that has never left my side through thick and thin, my mother. Thank you for encouraging me and supporting me in all my decisions; all the sacrifices you have done for me. Thank you for being my shoulder to cry on and my best friend, I could never replace you and I don't know what I would do without you. Love you Madre! Dad, thank you for picking me up when I thought there was no reason to. Helping me learn to trust people and guiding me in the right paths to success. To my sisters who although have much to learn, thank you for letting me teach you new things in life and making me laugh. To my little brother, thank you for protecting me even when we fight sometimes
Now I would like to take the time to thank everyone who has helped me get this far. First of all, thank you to all the teachers. None of us would be here without you always pushing our academic abilities to the fullest. Jessica Parker a.k.a. my partner in crime as Mr. Tri would refer to us. You made everyday coming to school worthwhile. Hillary Laswell, who would leave third period to go steal flowers from horticulture and give them to Mrs. Granillo with me. My brother Jeramie who always said, "If anyone is mean to you, I'll take care of it." My Mom, thank you for always believing in me and putting up with me when I was a real jerk.
I am a sophmore at Gaston Early College High School who strives to be successful. Who strives to get to the top of the mountain and live there. This school is best for me because I will get to knock out two years of college, and get an Associate’s Degree, all while in high school. The opportunity is different… definitely not your usual high school. I was picked because they felt they needed someone like me to help build their body of students, well at least I believe that.
Well, here we are. Sitting in this stuffy gym wearing these unflattering robes, while the band is poised and ready to play “Pomp and Circumstance.” We’ve always known this day would come and, whether our teachers, our parents or ourselves are prepared for it, here it is. We’re about to take that giant leap in just a few minutes and after that, it’s time to make our own choices. No longer will our biggest decisions entail which person to ask to prom or which period would be the best to TA during. Now our choices will begin to revolve around which bills we need to pay and what job we want to be doing 20 years from now. And whether you choose to earn a degree, get a job certification or immediately start working, there are some universal choices that everyone should make to ensure a fulfilling life for ourselves and our families.
I'd like to thank you for sharing that hard work ethic with Jamison, Remington & Taytem. They have learned so many life lessons from you, in addition to their math tutoring. You've been a strong, positive influence. To hear Remington ask if "CJ can help me with reading too"; says more than you'll ever know. And for all 3 of them to constantly remind me that "CJ makes math fun" speaks volumes. CJ, you've left an
My freshman year at Cleveland Central Catholic was the best year of highschool for me it's where i met most of my friends and where i learned advanced classes i had a lot of fun although i was one of hundreds of new kids going to Cleveland Central Catholic High School i was happy and nervous to go there i didn’t know what would people think of me or if i would make any friends. All of the freshman had an orientation which is like a day with freshman only to get to know all around the school like our classes where our gym was located the lunch and gym was separated from the school that was something new because i never seen anything like it the school was so big i was nervous for my actual first day.
In fifth grade the next year, I got Mrs. Holmes again along with Mrs. Smith as my teachers. Mrs. Holmes and her husband had just adopted the baby they had been waiting for; because of this, we had a really grumpy and rude sub every other week for the first half of the year that would punish us left and right for nothing. It was catastrophic! I don’t remember her name, but her name is really not wo...
...nd was wonderful to shop with. Michael was a perfect gentleman. Marnie was always encouraging and understanding. Nisha and Rebecca Kozitza were amusing . . . and so on. If it had not been for everyone's wonderful personalities we would not have been able to endure such cramped living spaces. The final farewell was testament to the closeness of our newly found friendships. I look forward to another alumni event. Until then, I will treasure the friends I've made.
