The book Middle School Get Me Out of Here by James Patterson got a 4.5 out of 5 from Barnes and Noble which is surprising because it is such a big book company. The book is very cool and funny since Rafe the main character likes to mess around and try to act cool. Rafe is a really good artist and anything you can think of he can draw. Rafe can make up anything he wants and imagine things that nobody else can, which is very special talent for a middle schooler.
The book has over 100 illustrations which is amazing. You may know as you get older and read harder books there are less and less illustrations which is kind of a bummer, but not when you look at the inside of this book there is a lot of drawings. Like on page 3 Rafe likes to draw what he thinks his new school will be like and how he will look and act. It also shows what he thinks of school and what it is

Other authors (all of these authors write mystery/thriller novels as well) have praised the book as well. These authors include: Karin Slaughter, Nelson DeMille, Douglas Preston, and James Patterson. This book alone has over a hundred five star reviews on Amazon. Not bad for an author just releasing his first
The author uses a lot of description when setting the scene, or writing how someone looks. He also uses a lot of color imagery within the chapters and writes in 3rd person narrative.
In my eyes I loved the book I rate it a 9/10, its had a good twist and turn to it. I loved this
In conclusion, I would highly recommend this book to early teens who are fans of drama and comedy because they could probably relate to most of the issues discussed to a certain extent. Girls my age, especially, would enjoy this book as they could relate to the issues discussed and they have probably already experienced similar
...ersonally, I fell in love with the book. Ray Bradbury has a more unique style in writing than most authors. I believe it is a very appropriate book for high school and I would recommend it to everyone. I think anyone and everyone can connect someway to the main themes of the novel. Everyone has or will undergo a stage in life where they don’t feel accepted. Then it is up to that person to chose how they decided to take it. In the book some characters decided to fight the evil and found themselves doing so. People get so caught up in what people think when really they should just accept themselves, “Accept everything about yourself -- I mean everything, you are you and that is the beginning and the end -- no apologies, no regrets” (Clark Moustakas). This book could show that no matter the age or who you are anything is possible and not even the sky is the limit.
When I first read the book I didn’t realise there were clues hidden in the detailed pictures. Some twist and turns in the book was when everybody denied of stealing Horace’s delicious looking meal. The illustrations in the book were extremely detailed in every picture of the book. Looking at the illustrations helps me to imagine how Graeme Base writes his stories and how intriguing they
Some students like the book because they can relate to the culture behind the book which is Latino. In the article by Seema Mehta it states “Teachers said the book helped connect with their Latino students, who make up two thirds of the district.¨ In Los Angeles the Latino population is high so when some students can connect to a book they´ll be more interested in reading it. The article also states ¨They felt empowered by this book¨. The students felt empowered by the book they could understand what the kids or people in the book were saying and they could relate to it.
In J.D. Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye, the main character Holden Caufield believes that innocence is corrupted by society. He exposes his self-inflicted emotional struggles as he is reminiscing the past. For Holden, teenage adolescence is a complicated time for him, his teenage mentality in allows him to transition from the teenage era to the reality of an adult in the real world. As he is struggling to find his own meaning of life, he cares less about others and worries about how he can be a hero not only to himself but also to the innocent youth. As Holden is grasping the idea of growing up, he sets his priorities of where he belongs and how to establish it. As he talks about how ‘phony’ the outside world is, he has specific recollections that signify importance to his life and he uses these time and time again because these memories are ones that he wont ever let go of. The death of his younger brother Allie has had a major impact on him emotionally and mentally. The freedom of the ducks in Central Park symbolize his ‘get away’ from reality into his own world. His ideology of letting kids grow up and breaking the chain loose to discover for themselves portrays the carrousel and the gold ring. These are three major moments that will be explored to understand the life of Holden Caufield and his significant personal encounters as he transitions from adolescence into manhood.
I enjoyed the novel The Scarlet Pimpernel. It was filled with adventure and I liked how both conflicts were resolved at the end. I chose this book because Mrs. Donius recommended it to me. She said she loved it and it was one of her favorites. I would recommend this book to a wide range of readers. Anyone from the age of thirteen and older could enjoy this novel.
The rate of American teens leaving home has continued to rise each year. The United States must educate more young people about the dangers of leaving home and living on your on the streets. Runaway teens encounter problems such as drugs, violence, and reliable resources.
“In middle childhood, 30% of a child’s social interactions involve peers, compared to 10% in early childhood” (Blume, 2010). Children place a large importance on friendship more when they grow older. In early childhood, friendships are associated with a particular activity. During middle childhood, children focus more on bonds and trust when it comes to making friends. Children start to use selective association meaning that children start to pair off with people that have the same interests as them. Sociable kids are attracted to other sociable kids and children who are shy tend to get left behind.
As children’s literature matured, so did the books. Illustrations were first made with woodcuts or on wood blocks that were colored by hand. By the late 1800s, printing had evolved and illustrations became mor...
Education is an element that is the key to success, and today is not taken seriously enough. People are uninterested so they drop-outs in high school and some leave or flunk-out in their first year of college. So, what is it that’s driving students to drop-out? Students spend too much time and stress with a curriculum that they can’t seem to pass or stay motivated with, and the solution is to alter schools so that the students are encouraged and prepared to go forth through college. Knowing what the key issues are and changing the curriculum so that it prepares them for their futures, is what determines the success of government. Dropping-out isn’t what people should have in mind, so what’s driving them to that point? This could be like that
Every year people are flunking out of high school and college. But what causes a person to do that, they either miss too many days, couldn’t make the grades, or just didn’t want to go anymore. School sometimes just isn’t for some people, some people out there prefer just to work and earn there own money rather than spending a lot of school. There are some that can’t afford school so they are forced to drop out. That is just a few reasons, these examples will be told with some more detail.
Time flies so fast. Looking back, my high school is just like a movie, a lot of things happened. High School is four years of growing up and probably a time in your life where you go through the most changes. In high school you are able to discover yourself and find out who you are as a person. Each year is special and unique in their own way. My journey through high school was a tough one, especially because I decided to not only focus on academic work but also to invest quality time in extra curriculum activities. I wanted more than just academic excellence; I wanted to be a leader, I wanted to add value to every aspect of my life, I wanted a rounded education and not just mere schooling. My success story is what I will like to share with you; how I really made it and how this defines my personality. My journey in High School was scary, exciting, and successful.
