In my life I want to make a difference, I want to use my life to help others. I want to got to college and study political science and then further my education by getting a law degree. Evently, I would like to open my own law firm and one day have a family with several children. I have several skill that would be beneficial to an outdoor camp, including lots of experience with various sports. I also have lots of experience with kids from working at a daycare in the summer, and babysitting. A big role model for me is Michelle Obama. I look up to her as a role model because she is one of the powerful women in the world and uses this power to make positive changes. Michelle has had a successful career as a lawyer and a writed all while raising two daughters. When I grow up I hope to do as much good for the world as she has. I completely understand the total abstinence policy at camp and have no issues with it. I desire to work at Kimball camp because I want to spend my summer sharing my love of God with children. The first time I went to camp it was the first time that I really got to experience praying and worshiping god, and it has impacted my life in so many positive ways. I want to be able to give children the same experience I have had and valued so much. By having me on staff KImball camp would gain an Growing up my family never really went to church, we would go on the big holidays like Christmas and Easter but we never really went other than that. In the summer though, ever since I was little my parents would send me to camps at local churches or other things of that sort. At these various camps is where my relationship with God has flourished. My relationship with God is growing stronger each and everyday. This relationship affects my life in many different ways. It affects the decisions I make, the way I react to things, and my outlook on life. All in all, my relationship with God has made me the person I am
Just about anybody can be a good role model. One may ask what a good role model is, and how a good role model dif...
It is the job of a leader to be a role model because people look up to you. Leadership is something I may have to work on a little because I am a shy person, but that doesn’t stop me. Last year, some 6th grade student were going to be selected to give a tour of the school to the 5th graders who were coming to Great Hollow the following year. My teacher was unsure that I would be a good choice because I am quiet in class. But I convinced him to let me be a tour guide and he was impressed with my performance. I was excited and talked to the students about the school and I was happy to be a leader and show the 5th graders what to do. I proved to myself I had
A role model is someone that is sought for guidance, and often admired. When thinking of my own role model, the qualities I wish to have when I become an adult come to mind. When scanning through the many influential adults that have shaped who I am today, deciding on just one role model is a difficult feat. However, I see the person I wish to become, reflected in the life of my dad. For that reason, my role model is my own father.
Hillary Clinton’s 2016 ad “Role Models” displayed running opponent Donald Trump saying derogatory and at some point even slanderous things throughout his campaign rally as children watch on. Making us ask ourselves is this the role model we want our children to look up to, and desire to be like especially those who have a dream to become presidents themselves as most kids do. This ad show may show a couple of distorted facts, but a mass majority hold to be true, Trumps says all this while being on video at his campaign rallies while visiting different states. The point is to show the way he is talking and how kids still take offense to it no matter what, and we shouldn’t allow this kind of talk out the mouth of a potential leader of the country.
True role models are those who possess the qualities that we would want to have in the near future and those who interest us in a way that make us want to be a better person. They teach us more about ourselves and encourage us to make better choices. A role model is not just someone who is successful, but someone who has had similar experiences that we have had. In the novel To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee demonstrates that Atticus Finch is a true role model. Over the course of the novel, Atticus stands up for his beliefs, respects everyone despite who they are and behaves as a true father. Atticus is truly the ideal role model.
A female belonging to a particular category defines a woman and being black is a member of a dark-skinned people, especially one of African or Australian Aboriginal ancestry. A black woman is just a category belonging to a community of color that is the “opposite white”. White the symbol of purity meaning no harm determining that a white woman is a pure female, the opposite of a black woman. There is not a fine line between white and black women. They are both a part of the same “category”, but so different described in dictionaries, media, and society. Black women are angry, fierce, erotic, and curvy. They are the Welfare Queens of human civilization. White woman can be best described as Starbucks lovers, housewives, consisting of a dumb
I aspire to become a leader in my family and community inspiring those around me to maximize life to its fullest potential. To use my God given gifts and talents to apply the principles necessary, to make a significant difference in the lives of others. To live a balanced life challenging myself intellectually as well as allowing time for my mind to rest and do things I enjoy. To look at life through a child’s eyes, not being distressed about the past or worrying about the future. All the while dancing like nobody’s watching.
First off, I want to graduate from college and do it well. I want to be able to do things on the weekends and not worry about having to make things up or anything like that. I am hoping for a scholarship in football, in my opinion that would be a great start for me in college. Then after college maybe pursue that as a career. If that doesn't work out for me then I want to look into athletic training or physical therapy. If those things don't interest me or I don't get into it I am then looking into law. That will take much more time and patience, but it's gonna be the rest of my life.
From the friendships they can make that will last a lifetime, to the distinct memories they have of campfire traditions, camp is laced with immeasurable meaning. The skills that children learn and practice at camp can become a part of their identity, and may even grow into passions that they will continue to pursue as an adult. Whether they want it or not, the songs with constantly haunt them throughout the years and though they claim to hate it, they secretly enjoy the reminder of summer fun and adventure. One thing camp taught me that I find of value today, is to say “yes!” to adventures and working with my team to accomplish outrageously fun challenges and
Role models can make a huge difference in a child's life. My Physical Education teacher had a major impact of effecting of what I want to be now. Aleta Jo Crotty helped me to learn to take responsibility for my actions, and in my choices I am in control. By using guidelines that was set by her for my life, I hope to reach just one child.
That purpose is to go and tell others about the saving grace of Jesus Christ. This purpose has challenged me over the years to get outside my comfort zone and do this very thing. I’ve been to multiple places across the United States, and even to the other side of the world. It is evident that, no matter the location, the power of the Jesus is the same. It has been such a humbling and life changing experience to witness people come to the same realization I had; the fact that Jesus is alive and can transform any life. My relationship with Christ has given me a new purpose, and it has overflowed into every aspect of my life. I strive everyday, no matter the situation, to seek out opportunities to show the love of Christ I have experienced. Jesus has transformed my life, and I want others to experience the same life change that I
As I stated before, I grew up in church. In fact, the church I attend today is the one my father started attending when he was only seven months old. I have strong familial ties to my church and that is ultimately where my faith began. I sometimes reminisce back to when my father would sing Amazing Grace with me and my mother would teach me Bible stories. Together, my parents were my Sunday School teachers from third to sixth grade. I loved going to church as a family: my sister, my parents, and myself included. My sister, two cousins, and I even formed a singing group at my church in honor of my grandmother, Minnie (we were called “The Minnie Maberrys”) Needless to say, my family has been an integral part of my faith. I have sought encouragement from them and the wisdom they have instilled in me will remain with me for a lifetime. Another crucial facet of the growing of my faith has been the Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization, or FCA for short.
Many people find someone in his/her life to look up to, a role model. There are many different kinds of role models; they can be singers, public speakers, a parent, or even a friend. Role models also are not determined by certain criteria. A role model can be a role model just because they are a leader or have a great talent. Oprah Winfrey is considered a role model to many individuals because of her tough childhood, wonderful charity work, her schools, and the true relationships with her fans. Oprah stands out among many people on her ability to feel others’ pain and help those people get through their troubling times.
My grandma is my role model because she has accomplished so much and been through so much in her life. She is a very beautiful person, but very stubborn in what she believes and wants. Its almost impossible to get her to change her mind. She is always telling me how proud she is of me and has pretty high expectations of me. My mom is also a role model for me because she had a rough childhood and after she started a family she went back to college she is still attending college now, she gives me motivation to never give up and reminds my of how good my life is
Many of us have role models in our lives and to most people role models are athletes and movie stars, but to me a role model is much more. To me a role model is a person who has positively influenced someone in life, and is not a person filled with selfishness and greed. They help shape someone’s personality, and characteristics. They are people who someone can look up to for advice in a hard situation, and know that they will give those words of wisdom. They will never judge our past actions, instead only look to help because they really care. A role model is someone who we should never feel awkward talking to about our problems. A perfect role model for me is my mother. She is a wonderful human being. She’s smart, wise, ambitious, patient and such a loving person. There are no words that can describe my gratitude towards her, but through this essay I will describe some of her characteristics that makes her my role model.
