Michelle Obama is the wife of Barack Obama and has done great things for our country. She is the first black First Lady. In the time she has been the First Lady, she has done many great things. Michelle Obama is a great person who has done so much to help the United States. Michelle Obama’s life was influenced by her early life. Her major accomplishments and contributions to American society, including being the first black First Lady of the United States, helped her earn her place in history as an important African American.

As the 44th First Lady, she has helped many poorer places like soup kitchens. “During the first year of the Obama presidency, Michelle and her husband volunteered at homeless shelters and soup kitchens in the Washington D.C. area,” (biography.com). Another example is the “Let Girls Learn” foundation (whitehouse.gov). This foundation helped girls around the world go to school and keep their education going (white house.gov). She gets this idea because of the great education she got. She wants the next generation of kids to get the same amount of education she got. She also said she wants kids to “Reach Higher Initiative.” She supports young people taking charge of their future and going to college (whitehouse.gov). Michelle also supported the military with “Joining Forces”, along with Dr. Jill Biden (whitehouse.gov). “Joining Forces works hand in hand with the public and private sector to ensure that service members, veterans, and their families have the tools they need to succeed throughout their lives,” (whitehouse.gov). Jackie Robinson was born on January 31, 1919 in Georgia. On this day, a legend arrived. Jackie was raised by his mother, and his mother alone. His father left before Jackie was born, and he didn’t remember one thing about him. Jackie had many siblings, brothers and sisters. Jackie had an older brother named Matthew, who was also very athletic. Jackie’s mother tried the best she could to raise these boys right, and teach them that no matter what the whites called them...they were special.

Washington named her, “one of the most progressive and successful women of our race.” Walker demanded respect from men, and encouraged women not to rely on their husbands, but to become independent. She’s inspired so many people with her willingness and ambition to be successful. She encouraged black women to develop their own natural beauty and self-confidence and to love themselves. She wanted her people to pursue their dreams and to not limit themselves to what they can accomplish.
Most people think that the U.S. has not gotten anywhere in the past few years, and that's definitely not going to change unless there is a different president with innovative ideas. Putting a wall up and not letting immigrants in at all isn't going to cut it though. The United States need a president with different thoughts. Sonia Sotomayor would make a fantastic president because she has determination, respect, and integrity, which she could use to fix America's education and immigration systems and make the U.S. a more respected nation.

Barack Hussein Obama was born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu Hawaii. He is of mixed parentage: his father, a black African born in Kenya, while his mother, a white American that came from Kansas. When he was six years old his parents divorced and his mother married an Indonesian oil manager. They moved to Indonesia where Obama was educated in a Roman Catholic School. She became very well known for her work with children and getting them more physically active and healthier. Oprah has been known as “one of America’s top 50 most generous philanthropist” as she continues to contribute ten percent of her income ($385 million in 2008) to her favorite charities, related to education, youths, and literature. She had donated millions to Tennessee State University which is her alma mater as part of the scholarship funds, The United Negro Fund, to encourage young black Americans to pursue their dreams, and the Harold Washington Library, which is a program for economically disadvantaged Chicago-area young girls.
Barack Hussein Obama also struggled and suffered a lot during his life, but he ended up as the 44th President of The United States of American. He achieved his American Dream, and in his situation it was slightly impossible. Barack Hussein Obama comes from a Muslim family, and he is also black, and his dad is from Kenya, considering the racism in the world today, and the fact that he’s not fully American, achieving what he achieved was almost impossible. Obama showed how America is free and anyone can achieve their American Dream there.
During her childhood years living with her mother, Oprah had very little money and life was difficult. She wants to help as many children as possible grow up in a sound, safe, and educational environment. Oprah has changed the world with all of her organizations and charity efforts. Oprah Winfrey has helped thousands of children attend school with her scholarships that she has funded. Many of these children would never go to school or continue their college career without her amazing efforts of providing financial support to these children. Oprah also helped build homes for families through her efforts with Habitat for Humanity and her donations after Hurricane Katrina helped families start their lives over again after the mass destruction of the hurricane by providing the financial support to rebuild many communities and neighborhoods(“Oprah Winfrey”). When researching Oprah Winfrey, I now realize why she is such an incredible person. The world is a better place because of Oprah Winfrey. During my life I had some accomplishments. But, I will tell you the truth I cannot call them as my great accomplishments. At this point of my life I had the two greatest events. My first event was my high school graduation. The second event, which was the biggest and the most unforgettable was my wedding day.
