Ava Ire: Personality Assessment What makes an individual unique from anyone else? The answer lies within the individual’s personality as it reveals his or her uniqueness. Per personality psychology, the Big Five theory focuses on five dimensions of personalities which are openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism (Feist, 2015). Michelle Czajkowski’s web comic, Ava’s Demon, narrates a story of seven individuals and their demons in a society that oppresses individualism. From the moment she starts her mission to find all the hosts, she relies mostly on others to help her instead of an organized plan. For instance, a friendly bystander named Gil provides her a way to Titan’s headquarters. Once she arrives, she mostly tags along with Gil, Maggie, and Odin until they leave her and Odin behind where they wander around the headquarters. Another example stems from Ava’s need to see Maggie, her former friend, safe and it derails what she needs to focus on. For neuroticism, Ava receives the highest score as she shows anxiety, intensity, and nervousness. Per chapter 11, Ava and Odin are surrounded by people who see her skin color change as a result of the pact. In seven pages, she feels self-conscious about her appearance and begs for others to stop staring at her. Her high-strung trait shows itself when she transforms into Wrathia and attacks innocent bystanders. Though it is not intentional, she blames them because they did not help her when she did not want to participate in an activity. Another example of Ava’s neuroticism is her nervousness as she confronts Titan’s second in command, Strategos Six. Although Ava attempts to dismiss Strategos’ logic, her timid nature and Strategos’ assertiveness makes Ava more anxious. As a result, Ava scores are high on the neuroticism
