The tattoo allowed him to engineer an escape route from his prison cell in “A-Block” to the infirmary. The reason why he chose the infirmary was that it was the closest building to the prison walls. Scofield is a so called “detail Nazi” meaning that each part of his tattoo had to be 100% precise. His tattoo is second to none when it comes to the intricacy of it. The tattoo is a picture of Saint Michael vanquishing the devil. This symbolizes his own fight to break Lincoln out of prison. Because of his enhanced creativity he can see the blue prints, but normal people

“Chasing Lincoln’s Killer” was a true story about the assassination attempts of Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth president of the United States. Lincoln was president during the Civil War, which was a war between the Union and Confederate. Most everybody got to choose a side to root for either the Northern policies or the Southern cause. Although John Wilkes Booth worked in the north, Booth was an unyielding supporter of the Confederate cause. Booth execrated President Lincoln and what he stood for. John Wilkes Booth was a famous actor, and could have had many assassination chances, including Lincoln’s second inauguration. Wanting the south to win the war, he never wanted the punishment of assassinating the president of the United States. Being
“ Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer”, was written by James L. Swanson, a dedicated Lincoln scholar and attorney. He details in his book the incredible escape of John Wilkes Booth’s from authorities, with immaculate descriptions of little-known facts in the case of Lincoln’s Killer. Swanson’s nonfiction book dives into actual pieces of literature written at the time of Lincoln’s assassination by individuals who actually took part in the real-life drama, including John Wilkes Booth himself.April 14, 1865 is a day of infamy in United States history,it is the day that John Wilkes Booth assassinated Abraham Lincoln. Swanson delves deep into the minds of Booth and his accomplices , analyzing their every move. Booth flees the scene of the crime with Davey Herold, who has been a willing participant in Booth's secret plots to kill Secretary of State William Seward, Abraham Lincoln, and Vice President Andrew Johnson.
Booth had got the news that the president would be at the Ford’s theatre. This was great news for john both Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln will be there in the same place. “Booth heard the big news: in just eight hours the man who was the subject of all his hating and plotting would stand on the very stone steps here he now sat. “Booth began to plain his assassination without having to hunt for Lincoln. John had a deep hatred for Lincoln, he had hated the state that our country had been in.
In Chasing Lincoln’s Killer, by James L. Swanson, the main characters were; John Wilkes Booth, Dr. Leale, Abraham Lincoln (even though he dies.) When John Wilkes Booth (a.k.a Booth) found out that the North had won the Civil War, he felt anger and disgust but he could do nothing. Booth had one plot that the book talked about and that was to kidnap the president and sell him to the leaders of the South but that plot never got put into action. When booth went to Ford's theatre got a letter, Booth worked at the theatre, the letter that said that the President of the United states would be visiting ford's theatre quickly he put a plot into works. First he went to get accomplices and they too would kill someone that night. When the time had come to Booth snuck into the President’s box, not even noticed he pulled out a gun and shot a bullet into the left side and under the left ear of the President's head. That didn’t kill the President, yet. When Booth tried to leave he was stopped by General Henry Rathbone, they had a knife fight while trying to stop both of them from leaving, although Booth got away jumping from the President's box and onto the stage shouting "Sic Semper Tyrannis" (Chasing Lincoln's Killer, by James L. Swanson.)

Freedom of Speech is a fundamental right that makes America the “land of the free.” But this right is abused by many people, and Philip Malloy is one of those individuals. Philip Malloy’s First Amendment Rights regarding his Freedom of Speech were not violated because there was a rule that he was informed about multiple times, but he still disrespected it.
The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger, is a classic novel about a sixteen-year-old boy, Holden Caulfield, who speaks of a puzzling time in his life. Holden has only a few days until his expulsion from Pency Prep School. He starts out as the type of person who can't stand "phony" people. He believes that his school and everyone in it is phony, so he leaves early. He then spends three aimless days in New York City. During this time, Holden finds out more about himself and how he relates to the world around him. He believes that he is the catcher in the rye: " I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in a big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody's around-nobody big, I mean-except me. And I'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What have I to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff..." (173). He briefly enters what he believes is adulthood and becomes a "phony" himself. By the end of the story, Holden realizes he doesn't like the type of person he has become, so he reverts into an idealist; a negative, judgmental person.

Anyone can make see whatever they want, his art allows for freedom and Ray II is no different.
Before he started his life as a politician that advocate for the freedom of all slaves in the United States, he was able to see through his own eyes the effect that slavery have on many African Americans during that time. According to the letter send by Lincoln to Mary Speed, he describes through horrific details that many African American have to go to during this time. He said: “...[The slaves] were chained six and six together… In this condition they were being separated forever from the scenes of their childhood, their friends, their fathers and mothers, and brothers and sisters, and many of them, from their wives and children, and going to perpetual slavery where the lash of the master is proverbially more ruthless and unrelenting than any others…”(Foner, page 11). There was no doubt that what Lincoln saw that day changed the way how he saw in many African American that was captured and sold as slaves, it
Art has been the reflection, interpretation and representation of artists' beliefs and morals eternally. Various artists stand for different matters that quite possibly affect their lives, or might be of an interest to them. Norval Morrisseau is an artist that I was intrigued by his portrayal and the techniques used in his paintings. In this paper, we are going to look at the implementation of Morrisseau's painting style used to expose his philosophies of different aspects in his life.
An important aspect of Abraham Lincoln’s overall performance is his personal and political background. Concerning his opinions on slavery, his personal background shaped his ideals in a very unique way. James McPherson, author of the short biography Abraham Lincoln, provides some insight into Lincoln’s background, writing that Lincoln’s fathe...
This prison was opened in 1858 and closed in 2002 because of budget cuts and because of how old the buildings were. Having used a real prison instead of creating their own is a good a thing so that they can make it as authentic as possible to the viewer. The cinematography in this show is great like when Michael gets put in his cell for the first time it zooms out slowly to a long shot, to show all of the other cells in the prison and he looks really out of place it looks like he is really regretting being there as well. Having a real prison for this show helped make that shot realistic and makes you feel like you were there standing in front of all the cells looking at them. Panning in the first episode was nice it showed that Michael was assessing his area and planning his escape already when he put that magazine in the drain and looked at the fire
