Michael Jordan’s Retirements Michael Jordan was arguably the greatest player to ever play the game of basketball. He had played in the NBA since 1984. Many players and fans love to see him play. Surprisingly, Michael Jordan retired in 1993, at the height of his success. Many were devastated to hear the news and wished he would come back. Shockingly, Michael then returned to the game in the 1997-1998 season. Numerous people love basketball and Michael Jordan. They all look up to him as a role model and idolize him. The date was October 5, 1993. Many people were talking about how Jordan’s retirement speech will be held in Deerfield, IL (Weinberg para. 2).
