WIth Michael’s individual success he was giving hope to the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls won 11 more games than they did the year before, including making it to the playoffs. Things just kept getting better for Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. His third season in the NBA, MIchael scored 3,000 points! In his eighth season with the Chicago Bulls he retired, due to the death of his father. HIs father was shot by two teenagers at the scene of a robbery (Biography.com). Michael was devastated by the death of his father. He started gambling to help take things off his mind (Notablebiographies.com). Michael realized that gambling was making things worse, so he took up his love of Baseball. He played minor league baseball for three years before going back to play basketball (Biography.com). Michael Jordan returned to the NBA March of 1995 to play with the Chicago Bulls.
Upon his return, he took on many things. He starred in the movie Space Jams in 1996. In 1997, Michael averaged 30.4 points per game and started all 82 games in the regular season. That same year was one to remember for the Chicago Bulls. They won 72 games and defeated the Utah Jazz in the NBA finals. The following season the Chicago Bulls beat the Utah Jazz in the finals for the second time in a row. Michael retired from the NBA in 1998, after winning the NBA finals (Biography.com). After Michael’s retirement, he became part owner of the Washington Wizards in 2000. That made him the third African-American owner in the NBA. He also bought ownership of the Washington Capitals, a professional hockey team. In 2001, Michael announced he was going to play for the Washington Wizards at 38 years old. That season MIchael had the Wizards battling for a playoff spot, until he went out with a knee injury. He played a total of two years with the Wizards and never brought them to the playoffs (Notablebiographies.com). Michael has achieved many goals in life, and he has never gave up. It was not until the year 2002 that the NBA was able to find someone to match Jordan’s dazzling acrobatic style of play. His name is Lebron James. Lebron, who plays shooting guard and small forward, stands at an athletic six-eight. James, however, never played in the NCAA.

While when it came to Michael’s second year in the NBA he broke his foot early in the season and was forced to sit out. While having his year off from the game, he decided to go back to school to finish his final year of college. He started at the 1995 all-star game after becoming the first rookie ever to lead all players in fan voting. Along with Jason Kidd of the Dallas Mavericks, were co-voted as the Rookie Players of the Year. In the next four seasons, he started in all all-star games and averaged 23.2 Points Per Game, 7.6 Rebounds Per Game and 6.7 Assist Per Game.
In the fall of his sophomore year at Laney High school 5 foot 9 Michael was cut from the varsity basketball team. Instead of MJ the coach elected to go with height instead of quickness. From the beginning of the season where he was cut, Michael grew 5 inches before the beginning of the next year. The next two varsity years Jordan averaged 25 points per game, and was the first kid from his high school to average a triple-double. He eventually would make the team and lead them to a state championship. At the end of his high school career, Jordan attended the Mcdonalds All-American game where he hit 2 free throws to win the game. Jordan finished with 30 points. This record still exists today.

He attended Ogden Elementary School, and later Trask Junior High School. Jordan attended Emsley A. In his first season with the Chicago Bulls Michael Jordan averaged 28 points a game and voted to the All-Star game, because of all the attention Jordan received his teammates refused to pass him the ball. Instead of letting the freeze-out during the All-Star game deter him he went on to win Rookie of the Year. The following season he would break his foot causing him to miss the rest of the regular season. He has contributed to many different charities, he was a baseball player, and he is a golfer.
