Michael Jordan is arguably the best basketball player in the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) history. Michael has led a very successful life, and once said, “Enjoy every minute of life. Never second-guess life,” meaning enjoy who you are, and believe in yourself. (A&E). Michael, as a baby was different from the average child. He was born on February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. In addition, as a baby Michael rarely ever cried (Dolan 34). Michael is the fourth of five children. Michael was very lazy during his childhood. Soon, the Jordan’s moved to North Carolina. Michael was often known to pay others to do his chores such as mowing and house work (Dolan 33-34). One of Michael’s favorite sports as a child was baseball. …show more content…

He had a free-throw percentage of .790, 339 rebounds, 310 assists, twenty-six blocks, eighty-five steals, and 1375 points his first season. In his second, he had an average of .821 at free-throws, 497 rebounds, 311 assists, thirty-nine blocks, 123 steals, and 1640 points Jordan had many accomplishments in his career. He ranked third highest in career points, at 32,292, and averaged 30.12 points per game, ranked first. Next, he won five MVP awards. He was named to the All-Defense team nine times and defensive player of the year once. In 2009 he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (ESPN). Jordan emphasized being a role model for everyone when he said, “I try to be a role model for black kids, white kids, yellow kids, and green kids (A&E),” whereas some others did not emphasize they were. Then, he became a businessman and investor. He is co-owner of Washington Capitals National Hockey League team, the MCI Center, and the United Airways Arena. He won many games but also lost a fair amount. Even though he may have had a rough life, he did not let that get in the way of his many careers.
