The night of May 16, 1983, almost 50 million people watched one of the most spectacular performance on television (Scott 1). Jackson won 40 Billboard music awards (Scott 1). His lyrics are powerful he also talks about social causes, human race, and relationships. He inspired millions of people with the music he wrote. Since I was a little girl I listened to his music couple of my favorite songs are “Bad”, “Dirty Diana”, Make that Change”, “You are not alone”, “Billie Jean” “Smooth Criminal”. These songs where inspiring to me growing up to this day I listen to him. My siblings and me loved his movie called “The Moonwalker,” It’s about his music career when he was five years old till he went solo as an artist at the age of thirteen. I would watch his movie repeatedly. My sisters and me would try to follow his dance moves but we were always unsuccessful it was a great memory growing up. I loved the part when he turns himself into a bunny as a little girl I thought that was awesome. Michael Jackson, born Michael Joseph Jackson was on August 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, son of Joseph and Katherine Jackson. Together they had nine children; Rebbie, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, LaToya, Marlon, Randy, Michael, and Janet. His father was an aspiring guitarist, but had to give up his musical ambitions to provide for his family; however, he encouraged his children to take up music. Although Michael had no formal musical educational training, he gained experienced through the music group he had with his brothers, the Jackson 5. Michael Jackson was a prominent role model of the 1980’s and 90’s and his songs influenced a lot people. He is known as “The King Of Pop” due to many of his songs and his talented singing voice and dancing. He started at a young age, beginning his singing career at the age of 5 years old. Here he joined his brothers and made The Jackson 5. By his teenage years he began to stand out and started his own solo career as an artist. One of Michael’s biggest problems he had to face was a horrible skin condition called Vitiligo. It is a chronic skin condition that causes loss of pigment. Irregular pale patches of skin are the outcome of this pigment loss and a lot of people refer to it as “turning from black to white.” Jackson’s doctor, Patrick Treacy, reported to the public, “It is well documented that in 1986, Michael was diagnosed with Vitiligo” (). This was the beginning of his transformation. He saw both sides of each race, which helped his relate to one of his very popular songs, “Black or White.”
