Jackson started his music career as the lead singer for Jackson Five at the young age of 11 years old. Introduction: Perhaps no one has received this title in history “the king of pop”, now a days many artist’s have arisen and have performed but not as the king of pop known worldwide and in history, has dominated the world of pop as Michael Jackson.
First off, the famous dance move the moonwalk, on a live performance of "Billie Jean" on May Sixteenth, 1983 this was the first time Michael Jackson had performed that dance and became one of Michael's most well-known moves, (Biography.com Editors). Today, and back then people all around the world try to do the moonwalk after the remarkable performance during, "Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever.", if he had never performed that dance it wouldn’t be as idolized as it is today, and definitely represents his effect on the culture of today.
However, what attributed to Michael Jackson’s success was not because he got lucky, it is simply because he practiced hours and hours at his craft and essentially where he was born and raised. Michael wasn’t just blessed with an impressive dance skill set, behind those flashy dance moves was hard work and dedication. At the early age of 5, Michael Jackson studied and was inspired by the late great icon James Brown. Jackson studied the musicians legendary singing, dancing, and even his mannerisms while he was performing on stage. While Michael was studying the late singer, he had a hunch that he wanted to achieve major stardom in the same fashion as James Brown. In Malcolm Gladwell’s book, The Outliers, he addressed the 10,000 hour rule. He indicated that it takes roughly ten thousand hours of practice to achieve full mastery in a field. It’s easy to assume that Michael simply just had a natural ability to sing and dance, but we tend to overlook the endless amount of hours this man has put forth to become so successful. The most compelling evidence that contributed to his success was his ability to have room for error and think of new ideas. Michael was constantly searching and constructing new dance moves/routines to perform to his audience. In addition, he always eager to
Tupac Shakur was a leader and prophet to and youth and rap/hip-hop culture. He has talked and made songs about women, poor, and rich people. He has changed my perspective about the three types of people after I watched his interviews and had the things that he said broken down and explained. Tupac has pointed out many things wrong with the country and the people who run it. He even inspired a very well known rapper named Kendrick Lamar. He even went through the struggle of being falsely accused of rape and sodomy and went to jail.
During the time of the Vietnam War and Nixon administration the society was in a state of anger and unrest. John Lennon took a stand against the government and society by writing music and performing physical acts of protest. He did these separately and alongside his wife Yoko Ono. Immediately, he was faced with a deportation scandal, and many were rallying for change on his behalf. His long-term impact is shown even to this day, through his song “Imagine” and other political songs that were screaming for someone to take a stand.
As mentioned above, he reshaped the landscape of Pop from the 80’s onward. Today there are many people who follow his footsteps and attempt to take his place. Ambitious artists who are already famous are aiming higher.
One of my reasons is that I like his voice and performance as well as his songs, as both "Michael Jackson" and "Jackson Five". Michael Jackson sings songs very well in his particular high-pitched tone as it can be proved by the big hits of his songs, for example, "THRILLER", " BILLIE JEAN" and "MOTOWN 25" etc, and by the many prizes he got, for instance, the first prize of male pop vocalists, of records and of R&B singers on Grammy in 1984. Besides, he entertains us with his sharp dance great performance like " moonwalk". When I listen to his songs in the morning before I go out, I can feel cheerful and powerful. I am a fan of Jackson Five as well. Before he began to sing by himself, he was the main vocalist of Jackson Five. When Michael was eleven years old, their first single CD, "I Want You Back", was released, and it was a very big hit all over the world. Michael was still little and cute, but his voice was very vigorous and rhythmical. His songs make me happy and energetic.
