The setting of this scene is set in Meredith’s bedroom on the second floor during the wedding reception shortly after Noon in Knoxville, Tennessee. The environmental condition of this scene is during Summer, sunny and warm at the wedding reception, and is cozy in the bedroom. The circumstances that help shape the action of this scene was the bridesmaids hates Meredith’s sister Tracy. Previously of the scene, Frances sneak into Meredith’s bedroom, looking through her jewelry box and tried on a bracelet. As Meredith getting closer to her bedroom, Frances got more panic and hide underneath Meredith’s bed. As Meredith looking for a joint in her jewelry box, and she believes her sister Tracy must have taken it. Moreover, Frances was shocked that Meredith accused her sister Tracy took her joint. The playwright intention of this scene is to reflect these characters, to tell the truth of how Tracy took advantage of her friend Trisha in order for her to purchase an expensive wedding dress for the unforgettable wedding. In this scene of the play, it mentions about three characters: Meredith, Trisha, and Frances escape the wedding reception and hide in Meredith’s bedroom. At the beginning of the play, Trisha come into Meredith’s bedroom because Meredith’s mother need her to greet the guests at the wedding reception in her house, but she refused not to because Meredith and her mother are having some problems. Thereafter, Trisha and Frances, both talks about the lovely wedding and the wedding dress but Meredith expressed the wedding was ridiculous and the wedding gown does not fit for her sister Tracy. As Trisha asking how much did Tracy spend on the wedding gown, Meredith told the truth to Trisha and Frances of how much is the wedding gown actually cost.
