Mental health counselors work with individuals, families, and groups to address and treat mental and emotional disorders and to promote mental health. They are trained to address a wide range of issues, including depression, addiction and substance abuse, suicidal impulses, stress management, problems with self-esteem, issues associated with aging, job and career concerns, educational decisions, issues related to mental and emotional health, and family, parenting, and marital or other relationship problems. Mental health counselors often work closely with other mental health specialists, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, psychiatric nurses, and school counselors. (US Department of Labor) To be a licensed mental health counselor a person must have a Masters Degree in counseling or other related field. The program must consist of 60 semester hours and 1000 hours of university sponsored clinical or internship experience. The degree program should be certified by CACREP. A CACREP certified program insures that the program meets examination requirements for licensure. Once completed, one must have two years of supervision and pass national or state examinations to obtain licensure. Licensed mental health counselors have many ethical and legal issues dealing with interacting with clients in a way that leaves them in a better place. It is crucial that counselors act within the b...
After the creation of Adam, God takes a piece of Adam’s rib and makes a women, “She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man (Genesis 2:23).” “And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living (Genesis 2:20).” Adam and Eve live in the Garden of Eden with God and live in tranquility, in a sinless world.
Mental health teams generally comprise of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists and social workers, but other therapists such as family therapists, psychotherapists and counsellors might also become involved in the care of the patient (Perkins & Repper 1998).

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of emotions, both positive and negative, on counselor’s ability to make ethical decisions. Ethical issues are common in the field of mental health. Mental Health Counselors (MHC) rely heavily on ethics as a guide to navigate tough decisions between the client’s wellbeing, law, and the counselor’s own liability. Using ethical decision making models, counselors can make better decisions, however there are situations where other factors outside of the counselor’s control that can influence these decisions. These factors can include the education and experience of the counselor as well as their current emotions.
The evil they faced sought after their own triumphant paradise to rule and govern over to become renowned leaders. Celia fought her battle with Roy Garth, who attempted and succeeded to soil Celia’s paradise by making it his own. Roy yearned for Celia’s triumphant home and eventually “declared the property of his majesty’s loyal subject, Roy Garth” (Bristow 360). His need for Celia’s home was for personal gain and the glory of being able to call Sea Garden his own, taking from Celia all that she had to protect her from previous predicaments in her life. In comparison to Roy, God’s Eden was infiltrated by Lucifer, the devil. Lucifer slid into God’s great creation with the wicked intention of making Eden his own. Lucifer, “being more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made” (New International Version, Genesis 3:1) was able to blindly lead and deceive Eve; he made her tempt God’s grace by going against God’s will while simultaneously offering her the knowledge of good and evil. Similar to Roy Garth, Lucifer entered the perfect world with the mindset of making Eden his own. However, his shortcoming of not being able to takeover Eden was not a complete failure, as he was still able to exterminate God’s paradise by infecting Adam and Eve with the parasite of knowledge, which led to the inevitable damnation of the human race. His lust for being the sole owner of
Satan told Eve that humans are part of Godhead. Therefore, she thinks she is part of Godhead when she is eating the fruit of good and evil and she feels that heaven is far so God cannot see what she is doing. When she realizes are actions she starts plotting how to implicate Adam. She decides not to tell Adam at first, but just make him eat the fruit, thinking that it will make her equal to Adam. Then she thinks if she is to die they will both die and Adam will not have the opportunity to marry another wife
GMO 's provide us with the increased amounts of food that we need to feed an constantly growing population. As Nobel Prize laureate, Dr Norman E. Borlaug puts it: "There is no evidence to indicate that biotechnology is dangerous. After all, mother nature has been doing this kind of thing for God knows how long,". (Tervil Okoko, AgBioWorld) GMO 's have been around for far longer than people give them credit for – and in fact many of the foods we 've grown to love today like apples, bananas, grapes, and potatoes have all been modified for ease of human consumption. GMO 's reduce the amount of land needed in order to plant crops, as they produce crops of the same size with more yield than non-genetically engineered food. GMO 's allow for more nutritious, resilient, and better tasting food. There are currently no credible studies proving that the use of rDNA can lead to health defects in humans, and genetically engineered foods go through more rigorous testing than non-GMO 's. Contrary to the statistics, GMO 's are currently being developed to reduce pesticide use through intrinsic pest resistance – and a German study that was published on PLOS even concluded that “On average, GM technology adoption has reduced chemical pesticide use by 37%, increased crop yields by 22%, and increased farmer profits by 68%” (Wilhelm Klümper & Matin Qaim, PLOS). GMO 's can even help us fight back against climate change, as it allows the creation of crops resistant to severe weather – like droughts, which California (one of the best sources for crops in the nation) is currently experiencing with no particular end date in sight. Additionally, because of the aforementioned factors, GMO 's can be used to fight back against world hunger. They 're produced in mass quality, are cheaper, and more durable than non-genetically modified foods – in short, they 're an incredibly
Sexual relationships between counselors and clients should never ben permitted due to the power associated with the counselor’s role with clients. While ethical guidelines vary between different counseling associations as to whether it is acceptable for counselors to have sexual relationships with clients after the professional relationship has ended, in many cases these relationships continue to be prohibited. This standard is held because some believe that the powe...

One of the most important pros about GMOs that everyone is concerned about is that it will produce a longer shell life, which will make it safer to transport to different countries. GMOs can also supply more nutrients and help fight world malnutrition making it better for Americans to eat, by making it healthier. “Seeds are genetically changed for multiple reasons, which include improving resistance to insects and generating healthier crops. This can lower risk of crop failure, and make crops better resistant to extreme weather.” (Mandel).

Cognitive therapy has two steps. The first step allows a patient to form clear ideas based on his or her own thoughts, attitudes, and expectations. These clear ideas reveal and change false and stressful beliefs patients have, because situations do not cause problems alone, but the importance of them to patients cause issues as well (“Cognitive Behavioral Therapy” 2-3). The second step in cognitive therapy allows people to learn new ways to replace the dangerous thought patterns of over-generalizations, also known as drawing exaggerated negative conclusions from situations. Changing the old behavioral habits, and practicing new ones allow patients to have more realistic and less harmful thoughts, letting them think clearly and control their own thought patterns. (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy 2-3). For instance, those with depressive disorders tend to withdraw from others and their hobbies, thus causing them to feel isolated and unhappy even more. Cognitive therapy assists patients in finding new solutions for activity once more (“Cognitive Behavioral Therapy” 4). These steps also assist with other disorders like anxiety, PTSD, and OCD by finding ways to calm down (“Cognitive Behavioral Therapy” 4). However,
Unfortunately due to our past history, discrimination had been among us from since decades. Discrimination and prejudice would probably be among us until the end of the world. Prejudice and discrimination is an action that treats people unfairly because of their membership in a particular social group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs to rather on that individual. It is an unfair treatment to a person, racial group, and minority. It is an action based on prejudice.
Teaching the adult student is a great and unique responsibility; Andragogy preaches that teaching the adult learner takes a certain skill set and approach in order to be highly effective. The adult teaching theory and approach is based off the characteristics of the adult student. Andragogy views the adult learner as a very highly motivated student, a student ready and prepared to learn, and a student that comes to class with expectations of learning (Knowles 1984, pg12). With such a capable learner in the classroom the teacher must make the necessary adjustments. When teaching the adult learner, the teacher will have respect for their students and respect the fact that each student will have their own individual learning style. The teacher will also allow the adult student to experie...
Cognitive behavioral therapy is a therapy that integrates cognitive and behavioral techniques and that’s based on the assumption that thoughts, moods, and behaviors are interrelated. Thus, changes in thought patterns will affect moods and behaviors and changes in behavior will affect moods and thoughts. Along with challenging maladaptive beliefs and substituting more adaptive cognitions, the therapist uses behavior modification, shaping, reinforcement, and modeling to teach problem solving and to change unhealthy behavior patterns. The hallmark of cognitive behavioral therapy is its pragmatic approach. Therapists design an integrated treatment plan, utilizing the techniques that are most appropriate for specific problems.
