Memories are ideas that we hold on to and should never let go. We all want to experience our happy memories again and go back to the great times in life. Oscar Lavant has a skewed view of humanity. He believes that he is always right and that everybody should be like him. He had great moments in his career that he wishes he could experience again. “Happiness is not something you experience; it is something you remember.” I agree with this quote because you never realize how special and fun something is in the moment. I never appreciate something that is special until the moment is over. I remember Little League baseball, Elementary school, and Middle school basketball. These memories are special to me and it is exciting to look back at them. To begin with, Little League Baseball is a great memory to look back on. I loved baseball as a kid, but I never realized how much I loved it until it was over. I used to hate going to baseball practice every day as a kid. Now, I would trade anything to go back to those times. I never realized how special and fun Little League baseball was until it was over. I want to go back to my days of playing with my old teammates. Looking back at it now, I wish I still had the opportunity to relive this memory. I remember having recess every day and the school work being easier than it is now. While I was in Elementary school, I never realized how fun and simple life was. I never knew how much harder life would become while I was in the moment. Oscar’s words are coming true because I want to go back to those great times. I feel the happiness of Elementary school now that I never felt while I was in the moment. I wish I could go back to those days where life was easy and fun.
