Recommended: The importance of a role model as a leader
"Que la terre est petite a qui la voit des cieux! Delille. How small is the earth to him who looks from heaven." The character i chose for the leadership trait is Meg Murry because even when the world is aginst her she still holds her ground , and she acts as a leader and a role model to not only to the ingenious Charles Wallace Murry but also to Calvin O'keefe, and has positive and negitives that come with these traits . Read more to learn more. Furthermore, Meg is my character of choise because she is hated in her town because of her father left but she still holds the ground and says her father is still going to come back. She is not one of the liked people in her town infact even the princaple Mr. Jenkins still brings up the fact that
her dad left and even somtimes he even says that her dad wont come back. I know this because in the text it says "Mr.Jenkins sighed again."No doubt your mother wants to believe that your father is coming home,Meg." That shows that the Mr. Jenkins will even tell Meg to her face that her dad wont come back. She is also hated by the students in her school I know this because the text says "During lunch she'd rough-housed a little to try to make her self feel better, and one of the girls said scornfully, "After all, Meg, we aren't grammer-school kids anymore. Why do you always act like such a baby." This shows that the kids also would tease her. In conclusion its like the world is aginst her but she still holds her ground. Also, she is a amazing role model for Calvin and Charles Wallace i know this because on chapter 8 when Charles Wallace was hypnotized she found out that since Calvins gift was communication he would be able to communicate to Charles Wallace to break his hypnotism I know this because the text says " Suddenly Meg broke into a run and caught up with Calvin." Cal," she said," listen. Quick. Remember Mrs Whatsit said your gift was communication and that was what she was giving you. We've been trying to fight Charles Physically, and that isnt any good. Can't You try communicate with him?" That shows that she would do anything to help Charles Wallace and is a role model to help him. Also All things considered, There positives and negatives to these traits some positives are that she is one who is looked up to by Charles Wallace and Calvin, she is independent, she can think for herself, she is modivated to do anything she can to prove that her dad will come back, and she is also modivated to prove to the world that she should not be looked down on and deserves respect. No doubt there are also negitives such as, she is overly consistant, she is looked down on in her town, she has low expectations and she is a lamb to the slaughter. To conclude she has positive and negatives that come with the leadership traits. In Conclusion, Meg was my leadership character because she will do anything to prove that her dad is coming back, and she was a leader to both Charles Wallace and Calvin. I have chosen Meg for these reasons. So do you agree with my choices.
What is a key attribute of a strong leader? Would he be strong, bold, courageous, fearless? Magellan, a portuguese captain during the fifteen hundreds crossed the world through the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean. Ferdinand Magellan did not deserve defense. He would treat his crewmen unfairly, put himself first, and was distracted from his goal. (Document A, B, C, D, E)
Leadership in Watership Down Many people possess leadership qualities, although they don’t rule a country. Meriwether Lewis, the official leader of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, has been called “undoubtedly the greatest pathfinder this country has ever known.” Just like Hazel, Meriwether Lewis led a group of followers into unknown territory. The two guides faced many difficult situations that they were able to overcome since they had the qualities of a notable leader.
What characteristics do leaders embody? In today’s society, leaders convey strength and kindness with no attention paid to their downfalls. In A Separate Peace, Phineas is a leader with flaws, despite his high standing amongst others. John Knowles characterizes Phineas as a naive and daring static character in his novel A “Separate Peace” by employing dialogue, action, and Gene’s descriptions and feelings towards him.
Presumably, complications start to revolve around the protagonist family. Additionally, readers learn that Rachel mother Nella left her biological father for another man who is abusive and arrogant. After,
In life we are challenged daily in making the right or wrong decision. In order to do what is right it takes a strong will person who is a leader and not a follower of the masses. The authors T. Coraghessan Boyle and William Faulkner in the short stories “Greasy Lake” and “Barn Burning”, portrayed how individuals can be leaders and ultimate make good decisions against all odds. So what character traits help these young men to eventually become good decisions makers?
Every time the family comes to a confrontation someone retreats to the past and reflects on life as it was back then, not dealing with life as it is for them today. Tom, assuming the macho role of the man of the house, babies and shelters Laura from the outside world. His mother reminds him that he is to feel a responsibility for his sister. He carries this burden throughout the play. His mother knows if it were not for his sisters needs he would have been long gone. Laura must pickup on some of this, she is so sensitive she must sense Toms feeling of being trapped. Tom dreams of going away to learn of the world, Laura is aware of this and she is frightened of what may become of them if he were to leave.
The protagonists and antagonist are torn between inevitability, that the world goes on its way and that it does not have much to do with human desires and concerns, and the notion that our futures are undeniably connected to our past actions. Enda McCaffrey plays a character who refuses to acknowledge his own agency, noting that Chigurh(Javier Bardem) ignores repeated reminders that he doesn't have to behave as he does and suggesting that by relegating the lives of Carson and Carla to a coin toss, he hands responsibility over to fate in an act of bad faith that prevents him from taking responsibility for his own choices.
The leader in question must be seen to be promoting the groups process. They must be entrepreneurs of identity, and they must be prototypical of the group that they are leading i.e. they must embody the groups goals wants and needs. Fielding and Hogg (1997) showed that the more prototypical behaviour the leader of a group showed, the better they were rated by the participants as being good leaders. Harvey Milk is the prime example of this type of leadership. He knew what his group wanted (equal rights, protection) and he made it his mission to fulfil his group’s desires. An example of this in the film is when Proposition 6 is proposed, Harvey’s followers marched the streets of San Francisco and when they came to stop at city hall he addressed them. Harvey shared their anger and frustrations, he is a perfect example of a leader who has embodied his group’s needs and goals and
Leadership is one of the most important qualities an individual can have because of the effect it can have on others. In the Epic “The Odyssey” the author talks about character traits and how they react with the conflicts by how he illustrates the conflicts and the way the character deals with them.
In closing I find my knowledge of what a leader is being enhanced through the analysis of this film. It seems to me that the qualities of a leader are not as specific as I had previous thought them to be. A leader does not have to have all of the qualities to be a good leader nor do they have to exhibit the quality at all time. It is more of how they handle the situations posed to them and their consistency in doing so. It takes more than just a few qualities of a leader to be a great leader. It takes the right balance of humanity versus the vision like was excited by Eisenhower throughout the film.
In this still, we see a stripped down Megan Fox in a pair of leopard print underwear and a bright pink bra. An extremely lucky necklace hangs down from her neck and nestles comfortably between her breasts. An equally lucky co-star extends her arm and squeezes Fox’s breast, though Fox does not look best pleased. While Megan Fox is clearly not thrilled by the feeling of another woman’s hands on her chest, it is safe to say this scene has put a smile on the face of all those who have seen it.
I choose the move Pay It Forward for I feel this is a great example of leadership and how it can be applied in real life situations. The name in itself speaks wonders. We know it is a metaphorical statement but it has power. In the movie, Pay It Forward, a middle school boy is given an assignment which he turns into a moral mission. He starts this ?pay it forward? and wants to keep it going. A reporter decides to investigate this action when he had totaled his own car and a lawyer gives him his Jaguar. The reporter was very intrigued by this action and decided to follow up and at the end of is trail of investigation he found Trevor, the little boy who started this ?good deed? reaction. This was done by a cycle of good deeds to others and in turn these people to return the good deed to someone else with a good deed.
Eglantyne Jebb was the leader I identified with because she did not seem to recognize herself as a leader at first, enjoyed simple living, was selfless, and had many influences in her life from family to friends, and her faith. She also resonated with me due to her connection with children and compassion for others who were experiencing hardships. Like Eglantyne, I do not force my spiritual beliefs on others. I also enjoy working with people of different backgrounds, and it seems as though Eglantyne was able to get along with varying groups because she had a clear mission that people were able to connect with regardless where they came from.
There are many characteristics that describe a leader but in this case I chose 5 of my favorite characteristics of a leader. I briefed it down to 5 because not all characteristics out there can really describe to you how a leader is because you didn’t have an opinion on it. In this case I had a part in it and I had to look carefully at each word I chose. The characteristics I chose was; honest, caring, resourceful, organized, and independent and I’ll describe how these 5 characteristics are the most important to have while being a leader in my opinion.
Mr. Keating tries to remind them that the world is theirs and they can do whatever it is they want. During the Dead Poet meeting. Charlie and Neil have conflicts on how the group should be run, but Neil reminds them it is not about girls, but about poetry. Mr. Nolan tries to discipline and remind the boys of the four pillars and to follow the rules. It is sometimes conflicting when three of leaders are trying to prove their points. This helps because sometimes people need to be reminded of the goals and it is they want to achieve. Leaders help guide others. In the Harvard Business Review, it is said “the first priority of leadership is to engage the right people, at the right times, to the right degree in creative work. That engagement starts when the leader recasts the role of employees. Rather than roll up their sleeves and execute top-down strategy, everyone must contribute imagination” (2008). The person who was a good leader in the movie was Mr. Keating because he was the one to help the boys break out if their shells and to understand what they wanted in life, which would then help them to be successful in life. In the end, that cost him his job due to the death of one of his students who took his advice. He is even a good leader to not only the characters but touches the heart of those who watch the movie. I loved this movie and took heart to Mr. Keating’s carpe diem, seize the day. It also made me want to be a poet when I was younger and helped me to understand how to follow my
