It took me a while to finally realize what I wanted to do for my project. It took me
sometime but I finally realize that cars have always been my life. For this very reason is why I
choose to go with something that involve cars. Mechanical Engineering stood out to me because
it involves the creation of the cars. The way the engine works is due to Mechanical Engineers,
without engineers like them we would be lost.
I choose Mechanical Engineering because I already have some knowledge when it comes
to cars. I’ve worked on them but have not truly really understand the concept of how they came
to be and how it was really created. Something about working with cars has always caught my

In today 's world we can see the impacts of technology all over the world. Not only was

center on creating technologies to meet human needs. Virtually every product or service in
modern life has probably been touched in some way by a mechanical engineer to help
humankind. Which includes solving today’s problems and creating future solutions in health
care, energy, transportation, world hunger, space exploration, climate change, and more.
Therefore making Mechanical Engineers one of the worlds greatest impacts in any type of
problems the world faces.
Many Engineers come together to improve inventions they have already created. Only
from there can they really move forward. “Knowing how to work with people 's ideas, data and
economics fully makes a Mechanical Engineer” - Greg Hardy. A big part of being an engineer is
being able to work with others. Only then will you be able to move forward with society and the

When it comes to technologies that have greatly changed and impacted society what better time to look at than the 20th century. It was a time of great leaps and ingenuity. Some inventions of change that molded the technology of today is the personal computer, the automobile, radio waves, rocketry and the atomic bomb. While they may seem rudimentary by today 's standards, the helped to make advancements and life possible in the 20th century.
Cars are the ultimate symbol of independence and individualism. They offer more than freedom. No other man made creation but car fulfills a man’s ego. Technology has been the evidence of how cars have evolved for about more than a century now. From a first car packing a single cylinder 958cc, 0.75hp engine to today’s most powerful 8000cc W16, 1300bhp Veyron. We live in such an engineering savvy era where even an increase of few grams in a vehicle’s weight means going back to the drawing board to get unerring dynamic performance. And for these exuberant reasons, mechanical engineering was a mere choice rather than a chance for me.

A mechanical engineer is expected by profession to be on the frontline in the transformation of an idea from its design to marketplace (Van et al, 2011). The engineers are expected to understand the different types of forces that exist in the environment of the product they are manufacturing and its subsystems determine the best way to manufacture it so that it can perform without failure when implemented. According to (Van et al, 2011), mechanical engineers play central roles in industries such as aerospace industries and biotechnologies. This requires them to observe engineering ethics as professionals. The ethics are there to make an engineer be able to weigh the benefit that may result from completion of the project against the possible risks.
But I did have an interest in materials. However, mechanical engineering is a very broad field. Mechanical engineering has an area of specialization referred to as “Materials and Manufacturing” [4] It doesn’t focus so heavily on material development and design so much as material selection and the methods of manufacturing parts using those materials. For example, “How do you mass produce carbon fiber parts?” would be a problem that a mechanical engineer of this specialization might set out to solve. At this point I had also had some exposure to electrical engineering, through a Snap Electronics kit and obtaining my Amateur Radio License. My interest in the field of Automobile goes back to my early years in high school which is when I decided to pursue a career in engineering. As a child I was always fascinated by the very concept of automobile. Further, my father’s constant involvement in the automotive industry as an insurance claims assessor further enhanced my interests in automobiles. He was the one responsible for showing me the correct path to pursue my career in automobile field. Hence, after having completed my primary education, I decided to delve straight into the world of mechanics and engineering and pursued a diploma in mechanical engineering followed by a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
