There are many reasons why soccer will eventually become the number one sport in the US. Growth of MLS and its popularity, growth of youth soccer. Tv is starting to broadcast the sport much more than they used to and it's getting a large audience. Children are playing the game much more than they used to and people actually care about the sport here.
There are many ways to measure the popularity of a sport. Sports can be measure by how many people watching televised games or how many advertising dollars it drams; how many people play the sport or the fans. In 2007, 103 millions worth of soccer balls were sold wholesales in united state but after six years in 2013 the market has been increase of around 20 percent. soccer has been slowly been growing in the U.S. since 1994, the first world cup in this country. U.S. soccer may be hitting with big money deals for team.
