According to the Cambridge English dictionary, the word relationship has a variety of meanings. Firstly, the way two things are connected and affect each other – Scientists have found a relationship between lung cancer and smoking. Secondly, the way in which two or more people feel and behave towards each other – I have a very bad relationship with my neighbor. What is the meaning of the word “relationship”? Most of us hear this word every day, in other words “a state of affairs existing between those having relations and dealings. There are four types of relationships: couple, family, and friend. Most of the relationships can be difficult, romantic relationship seem to be the most complicated types. Sometimes two lovers can care for each others, yet they cannot talk to each others. When a problem occurs between two people for a long time, it most likely will get to a fight and most of the time to end the relationship. While watching The Break-Up movie, showed a lot of elements of the interpersonal relationships. The movie talked about two couple stayed together for a long time. And they started to fight about minor stuff that leads to end the relationship.
What does it mean to have a relationship? You could be together, pertaining to the select other who you entrust with all your emotions and your heart. You could be related, like a brother, sister, mother, daughter, etcetera; a relative. Heck, you could pertain this vast meaning of a relationship, with the ocean itself. As the ocean is large and it inumerous to fathom, so is the definition of relationship, which can be portrayed as various meanings.

These terms were created to destroy our lives, they were created by the most evil and demented of all creatures, The Female. Shakespeare and Elizabeth Barrett Browning both investigate the developments and growth in relationships in their texts ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘Sonnet 43’. Many similarities emerge from both texts despite both authors being centuries apart.
Throughout this course, topics such as the transition from high school to college, learning skills, self-discovery, and career exploration have been discussed. Conversations occurred concerning the challenges and benefits of private and public colleges as well as the transition from high school to college. We also talked about our strengths and weaknesses while studying. Finally we talked about the jobs that we wanted, and the jobs we would be good at. During the rest of this paper, I will go into more detail about the topics we discussed; and go more in detail with what I learned.

Chapter 9 Gendered Close Relationships is about stereotypes for men and women ideas on how to behave in relationships. The expectations for male and female in a relationships have been set by their gender roles. The meaning of personal relationships is where partners depend on each other for various things from affection to material assistance. Partners are expected affection, companionship and energy. The two main models of personal relationships are male deficit model and alternate paths model. Male deficit model suggests male lack skills in developing relationships with others. In alternate paths model, men and women just have different ways to sustain a relationship. It’s not that men lack skills but men show it in a different way.

Professors are one of the key factors in finding success in school. I’ve spoken to one of my professors who is also my academic advisor. Dr. Vance once told me that to graduate or to triumph in college is to study to the best of your abilities. Even when you know that you’ve done your best, it won’t hurt to go beyond your limits in order to know your true potential. When he said that, it also made me think to study means to manage and spend my time wisely.

People view college students as educationally superior because the students specialize in a certain major. A new experience, a change from the norm, looking out for myself, and living on my own: for me this is college. The transition of high school student to college seemed immensely overwhelming and even a bit scary. The shift opened a can of worms and created challenges, both good and bad, behind every corner. Due to the change of scene, I am now dealing with the everyday acceptance of the greater world around me: the town, the people and my new life.
