Martin Luther King Jr. pulled the audience in by relating with them and making them feel like they are apart of “what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.”

This speech was focused on the freedom of african american slaves and how racial equality is a must for people to peacefully coexist, and racism will negatively affects the lives of African Americans. He stressed the importance of nonviolent resistance and painted his vision of a better future for people of all colors.

King spoke with such honor and emotion about this topic, you can tell he was confident about what he was speaking about to the people and that helps us who listen to it know that he is knowledgable about what he believes in.

King transitioned into the conclusion by going into his famous quote “I have a dream”. Towards the end of the speech he says, “Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends. And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.” He goes on telling the people why he has a dream and helps us to understand why equality of all races are so important and what his hopes are for America after his speech.
