Nowadays, issues of working mothers have been increased. In Malaysia, the number of married women going out to work since independence has increased from 30.8 per cents to 47.1 per cents in 1995. Based on that, it shows there are many married women are employed. However, even they are employed, they are still primarily responsible for the home and family. A mother has their responsibility towards the family such as doing the household and also looking after the children. If the mothers are working, they will juggle multiple roles. Therefore, the potential stress and conflict in the house will increase. Thus, women are better doing household chores and also looking after their children than men. I believe that married woman should give up their jobs to look after their children for three reasons.
Firstly, children need their mothers. Naturally, a woman’s first priority is her child whether they are working or not. Women are designed to nurture and feed babies and toddlers close to their bodies. Children really need their mothers especially during infancy to 2 years. . Ideally all children should breastfed until at least the age of 2. Therefore, if mothers are unemployed, they can give full attention towards their children and also can breastfeed their children. There is no need to buy milk from outside. Besides, children also need safety from their parents. If both of the parents are worked, how the children will feel safe? That’s why the children really need the mothers for their safety and also for comforts
Next, it is the best for the development of the children. Mothers are the best teacher for the children. During infancy until five years old, children reach a multitude of developmental milestones. As they grow, they are learning from people around them. Thus, mothers are the best teachers to teach the children. They learn, play, speak, behave and move from one place to another. They learn those things based on what they see or what do the mothers teach them. Besides, mothers are able to monitor the children activities. For example, mothers can monitor what their children do at home and what they are doing during their leisure time. Mothers also can ensure that the children have a safer and more varied experience later on in life.
...hen these women have outside jobs they are still mainly responsible for childcare and care of the home, the male of the household has not taken on more tasks. This does not level the playing field between genders and causes more stress for the female in the family. In fact, while the male is not providing anymore assistance around the home, some of the childcare is being outsourced.
...olden times, women were bound ‘only’ to do the domestic work, whereas men were entitled to do the foreign work. But now time has evolved, and women are indulging more in the professional arena. The pursuance time of the career and that to starting a family conflicts. Women have their priorities of pursuing their career first to acquire financial stability similarly like men and then settling down in the institution of marriage. Some women delay marriage and parenting because some of them are single girl child or are sister siblings so they have their own household and family responsibilities to look after. So they want to ensure a quality life for their parents and themselves. But there is a ‘ticking clock’ that places an additional burden on those wrestling with some important life decisions one of them being the most essential – the right time to have children.
...onsible for seeing, hearing, emotion, the function of the nervous system, memory, cognitive and language development possible. Parents too have special jobs. To start, it is important for mothers to take care of themselves during pregnancy and provide the necessary nutrients and refrain from bad substances. From the minute a child enters the world the learning process begins. They are constantly figuring out their surroundings and their experiences become important because these experiences will shape their personality later in life. Parents are not scientist but it is up to them to figure out how to use meaningful and positive experiences to mould their precious ones. Parents should keep in mind that nothing is pre-determined and to view a child as a canvas ready to be worked on. It is up to the artist, the parent to create a masterpiece.
There are many approaches to parenting and everyone has their own preferences as to what they think is best. In a fast paced rush around society, it is hard to know what the best choices are for your children. There is a struggle to balance what needs to be done with what can be done, and this has negative and positive feedback on the children. Parents play a critical role in shaping and guiding their children into functional confident adults. An effective parent will learn as they teach in order to grow into understanding with their children.
With the high cost of living, it is far-reaching for many mothers to seek employment because whenever they fail to work, they cannot bring their households out of poverty. The above section has illustrated the manner through which maternal employment influences the child in terms of money investments and quality time. The session has also touched on how maternal employment influences quantity of time. One factor that we all accede to is the fact that once a mother is working, she will be able to support he children with the necessities that they require in life. The necessities include both the basic requirements as well as other needs such as security health and education. The only problem with maternal employment is that the mothers do not spend much time with their children. As a matter of fact, some mothers leave their children with others to take care of them completely in order to make ends meet. To ensure that the situations do not get out of hand, several mechanisms should be put in place to ensure that the mothers are supported. For starters, the fathers should increase the time that they spend with their children. This in a way helps in bringing out the best out of their children as a whole. Stakeholders have in recent past given credit to fathers because they have increased their level of participation in children affairs. Nevertheless, the fathers should raise the manner in which they interact with the children; this is to mean that they should take their interactions with the children to greater levels thereby taking part in the activities that concern the children more often.
Any marriage involves two individuals each of whom has their own experience of that marriage. Nowadays, the roles and expectations that the families have to fulfill are distributed evenly among the members of the family. What this means is that mothers, who were identified in the past as household wives (since they were responsible with cleaning, cooking and raising children) are granted with more rights such as the right to participate in a voting process or the right to get a job. As oppose to mothers, fathers have always been mainly responsible with working hard to support their families because in most of the situations, they were the main financial providers. As a result, they had to bring money to their families by any means even if that meant getting more than one job. This situation became much more problematic when children appeared in the families. As we all know, children had and will always play an extremely important role and raising them is a big responsibility for their parents. Having children and only one member of the family (for instance the father) working is a familiar situation for most families. In this case, the father has to be more realistic than ever that his family relies on his financial support. He has to make sure that his family has the necessary supplies to survive. If this situation is not being resolved due to various reasons such as the husband does not earn enough money or just simply refuses to contribute financially, conflicts and issues may arise which often lead to family separations, and thus, poor living conditions and even death from malnutrition. This is exactly the situation that parents have to avoid. They have to be more responsible and realistic of their own actions, and take the decisions that are in the best interest of the family, the right decisions. These types of marriages are called emotional and financial support marriages.
Today, in a vast majority of families, both the wife and husband have a job. Many working parents are under stress as they have to try to balance the demands of their work, children and relationship. Over the past 25 years, women's and men's roles have changed dramatically. In fact, the world of work and home are not separate, research indicates a profound impact on work and home life.
Becoming a mother has been the best part of my life. I became a mother at a very young age. I had no idea what to expect and was not in the least prepared for the journey that lie ahead. I have truly embraced motherhood and enjoy all the wonderful things it has taught me. While living through motherhood, I have found that it can teach you the most valuable lessons there are to learn. Being a mother has taught me how to have patience. I have also learned that being a mother takes a lot on mental and physical strength. My children have been the best to teach me how to juggle many tasks at once. They have made me strong. Even through some unexpected turns, I have learned how to get through hard times and really learn what it means to never give up. My children are my biggest blessing, and I hope they will learn valuable lessons through me. The skills I have learned from being a mother have helped me in my college journey.
In sociology Here are two sections, the first one is the for women’s job. In a family most men are doing better in earning money than their wives (Gerson, 1985; Zussman, 1987). And when managing their families most women are willing to give more attention than their husbands. So this will limited the chances for getting a higher promotions or new opportunities for getting a better occupation (Gerson, 1985; Rosen,1987; Zavella, 1987). So in this condition and the gender stereotypes, women have small amount of chances to achieve their career goals. And because of men have a bigger responsibility in families; their families will give more support and understanding to them not to the wives (Ferree, 1984). Thompson, L. & Walker, A. (1989) says “Job opportunities continue to be segregated by sex, and most women have access only to low paying, no-advancement, often temporary service jobs.” So like I mentioned before, senior employers will not gave much chance to women, because regarding them as putting their families first and jobs at a second place Kessler-Harris's (1987). The second section is about parenthoods. In researches from LaRossa and LaRossa (1981), they found out that Mother can provide care that babies need and mother are willing to sacrifice their time to do it. So if a family has a children, women are willing to focus more attention on their child not on their
In contradiction, the vast majority of women with young children are employed. In 1996, 60 percent of women with children under the age of 5 were employed. And the average work life of women today is 30 years (cite). The idea of commitment should not be based on being gender-specific. Women can be committed, the same way men can neglect their jobs and vice versa.
There was a time when the woman 's expected role was based on staying at home. Now there are many more working mothers. This has caused changes in many attitudes. Those that
The study on comparing single mothers and married mothers shows that both of them have their own set of advantages and disadvantages. The major difference is that, the advantages of one are the disadvantages of the other.
Families are the foundation of the society. The main function of the family is having and raising children. Having children not only expands families, it also strengthens and renews society. Parents’ greatest responsibility to society is socialization and well-being of children. It provides continuation and supports health of society. All members of the families are interdependent. As a result, mother’s choice to be employed directly affects ability of the family to insure well-being of children. There are several ways why and how maternal employment might influence children. Child well-being is a result of time and money investments made by parents. Money is needed to purchase items that are necessary for healthy development, such as school, medical care, educational toys, etc. Time investments in children can be quantitative - the amounts of time spent with children, and qualitative - what parents do with their children. Maternal employment is related to each of these investments in children.
Working mothers try their best to balance between families and work. Mothers who work outside are happier, have a better level of health and energy, as compared to stay at home mothers. Working mothers are dynamic multi-taskers and great managers. The most important reason that mothers should work is money. Whether a mother is single or married, in order to survive in a fluctuating economy the family needs money. Mothers can never see their family depriving of basic needs. Another reason could be if a mother is earning more than a father then it's wise to continue the job. Also when both mother and father work, two incomes are coming into the house. Because of that family can enjoy the luxuries, go on vacations and fulfill children demands. A working mother is financially independent. If a husband dies or divorces her, she will have no...
The economic situation demands that many women enter the workforce instead of becoming housewives and raising children. Therefore, these working women have less time to spend cleaning, doing laundry and other traditionally domestic tasks. This fact is compounded with the “underdeveloped nature of child care centers” and the economic inequality in the United States (Higginbotham). Women of some means who must work find themselves at somewhat of a loss when it comes to providing care and supervision for their children, so they would seek to hire someone who could complete this task for them at a relatively low
