He was 35. “I can confirm that Mark Salling passed away early this morning. Mark was a gentle and loving person, a person of great creativity, who was doing his best to atone for some serious mistakes and errors of judgment,” his attorney Michael Proctor tells PEOPLE. “He is survived by his mother and father, and his brother. The Salling family appreciates the support they have been receiving and asks for their privacy to be respected.” An LAPD PIO told PEOPLE that officers responded to a death investigation at the 11900 block of Big Tujunga Cyn Road Tuesday morning at …show more content…
Federal investigators say they found more than 25,000 images and 600 videos depicting child pornography on computers and thumb drives that belonged to Salling. The content depicted children as young as 3 years old being abused, according to court documents. Salling had to register as a sex offender and enter a treatment program; have no verbal or electronic contact with anyone under the age of 18; stay 100 feet away from schools, parks, public swimming pools, youth centers, playgrounds and arcades; and pay $50,000 in restitution to each victim, according to the documents. Salling was arrested in December 2015 after investigators said the laptop, a hard drive, and a USB flash drive seized from his residence allegedly contained thousands of images and videos depicting child pornography. (His former girlfriend called police, according to the court documents.) In May 2016, he was named in a two-count indictment alleging he received porn involving young girls. But the trial was delayed that June as he sought new legal

Nonetheless, Mapp was found guilty and sentenced to 1 to 7 years in the Ohio Women?s Reformatory.
In 2007 this reporter, Herman-Walrond took these comments seriously and immediately contacted Sarasota police. Walrond took things even further, and befriended Fogle. She also contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigations and agreed to be wire-tapped for four years when communicating with Fogle. If it was not for this reporter, Fogle could still be committing these sex crimes. On November 19, 2015 Jared Fogle took a guilty plea and was convicted of distribution and receipt of child porn, traveling to engage in illicit sex conduct with a minor. His criminal penalty was issued by Federal Judge Tanya Walton Pratt. Fogle was given fifteen years and eight months of federal prison with a thirteen-year minimum. He also has a lifetime of supervised release, a $175,000 fine, forfeiture of $50,000 and $1.4 million of restitution to be split among 14 victims. Fogle currently resides in the Federal Correctional Institution Englewood in Colorado. The earliest possible release is 2029 (Perez,

The number of sexually abused children is five times what it was in 2012. Jerry Sandusky has contributed to this statistic. Jerry Sandusky was the head coach of the Pennsylvania State Football team (Penn. State). He has a wife and a few children, some adopted from his charity organization, the second mile, but this did not stop him from committing the crimes he did. Jerry Sandusky was convicted of raping ten innocent children, some of which he met through his charity. This earned him thirty-sixty years behind bars. There are issues from this case that are similar to some issues in the play, Twelve Angry Men. Ultimately, throughout both cases the jury was faced with difficult decisions. In both cases the verdict took a long time and a lot of thinking. But, in the end both came out with the right resolution. Sandusky’s reputation of being the guy everyone looked up to made the overall decision of the jury, in this case, inordinately difficult.
(Montaldo, 2019). James had previously had two convictions for the attempted aggravated sexual assault of a five-year-old girl and the assault of a seven-year-old girl (CPI Open Fox, 2023). James first two counts of assault, pleaded guilty and spent several years in the Adult Diagnostic & Treatment Center (ADTC) in Avenel, New Jersey (CPI Open Fox, 2023). After James' sentence and Megan's passing, Megan's family fought for Megan's Law to be passed so that local people would be notified of local sex offenders (Montaldo, 2019). Before Megan Law, the Jacob Wetterling Crimes Against Children Act required a list of offenses against children, but this list was only released to law enforcement (Montaldo, 2019).
On October 7, 1999, a student at Ramapo College killed himself reportedly due to a break up with his girlfriend, similar to what allegedly caused the fourth NYU student, Diana Chein, 19, to commit suicide by jumping from the top of her boyfriend’s apartment building after a break up on March 10, 2004. The cycle of depression and self destruction is apparent in all cases.

A 17 year old boy, Douglas Stewart, came home from school to find his mother lying on the sofa with a strained back. Being concerned for her he rubbed her back briefly then put on some easy listening music. Douglas then proceeded downstairs to his bedroom. Two of his friends came to the door. His mother waited to see if he would return to answer it; minutes later she answered and then yelled for him to come up. When he did not come, she went downstairs to get him. That is when she found him strangled and her son’s body dangling from the ceiling. This is a senseless tragic sight for a mother to endure. The mortality rate from suicide in 1996 showed 9.5 per 100,000 for 15-19 year olds. This also shows boys are four times more likely to commit suicide then girls. However, girls are twice as likely to attempt suicide. (American 1996) It is imperative to reverse this trend and in doing so we need to understand the characteristics, behaviors and events associated with youth suicide.
Sex-offenders have to attend treatment, can be put on electronic monitor, submit to a polygraph test, give probation officer home address, register as a sex-offender, and has to let the Department of Public Safety know if they move or change their address. There is no drinking or drugs, they may have to give up their computers, tell sex partners about their history, and some even chemically castrated. The sex-offender will have a curfew and have to pay fines and restitution.

Are we bothered by the fact that in the current social climate, the rights of convicted pedophiles are routinely violated and nobody cares. Rules of evidence are stretched, and terms of punishment are increased. The danger of this precedent is impossible to ignore.
Over Reacting and Fate in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet were described as'star crossed lovers' at the beginning of the play. The term'star crossed' refers to the stars one is born under; with this crossed means not to be. So by the beginning of the play, this love was already doomed. This play also contains strong, very emotional characters that bring about giving poor advice to Romeo and Juliet and soon leads to the death of the two lovers.
