He not only invested money to get where he is at, but he invested a lot of his time. He read this book and made plenty of sacrifices. He drove a 200 dollar vehicle with a hole in the floor just to save money. He had five roommates and only ate macaroni and cheese to avoid unnecessary expenses. The white men were a lot more educated than Jackie and other black men, yet black men were still very educated.
