Marilyn Monroe
Many people said that Marilyn Monroe was a great
inspiration in their lives, but through my research, I found
out that she was everything but an inspiration. Throughout
my report, I will give you many facts about Marilyn’s rough
life and what she did to handle them.
Marilyn Monroe, AKA Norma Jean Mortenson/Baker,
was born at Los Angeles General Hospital at 9:39 am on
June 1st, 1926. The hospital in which she was born is
now the County University of Southern California Medical
Center. Marilyn was born an illegitimate child whose father
(Edward Mortenson) had deserted her mother (Gladys
Baker). However, her real father was Stanley Gifford who
left Gladys when he found out she was pregnant.
Her mother worked at the Consolidated Film Industries
lab as a cutter of negative film. She worked long hours, at
low pay, at a boring and tedious eyestraining job. Since she
was at her job most of the time, she had to pay others to
look after Marilyn. Sometimes she would only get to see her
mother only early in the morning or at night. It was enough
for any mom to have a nervous breakdown. All Marilyn
remembered was her mother being in and out of hospitals.
Marilyn’s mother was working long hours at the film lab
just to make ends meet. She became very tired and nervous;
life became difficult for her. She had been sent to the
Norwalk State hospital for Mental Diseases for a rest when
Marilyn was only five years old. That was what caused her
to have a nervous breakdown and that is what caused
Marilyn to spend her childhood in and out of foster homes.
When Gladys first went to the hospital, Marilyn moved in
with her mother’s best friend.
When her mom’s best friend remarried, she told Marilyn that
her house was too small and someone had to go. Marilyn
was only nine years old then. So one day, she packed
Marilyn’s clothes in a suitcase and they got in her car. They
drove and drove for a long time without telling Marilyn
where she was going. They finally arrived at a three-story
red-brick building. Marilyn looked up at the sign and it said
LOS ANGELES ORPHANS HOME. Marilyn told her, “Please
don’t let me stay here. I’m not an orphan, my mother’s not
dead.” Her mom’s friend had to drag her inside the
orphanage. Her mother’s girlfriend had promised her that
she would take good care of her. She promised ...

...a beach was taken, and
was to be her last. Her good friend and photographer
George Barris, lost his shoe on the beach right before their
departure from there, so Marilyn told him that the ocean
apparently needed it more than he did, so they both threw
their shoes in the ocean and left Santa Monica beach forever.
Marilyn Monroe was found dead in her Brentwood
home, on August 5, 1962 officially a victim of barbiturate
overdose. Marilyn was 36. At 36, she made a statement-
“I’m thirty-six and I’m just getting started.” She overdosed
on sleeping pills. Marilyn was in the process of making a
movie “Something’s Got to Give”, but was dropped from the
movie because of chronic lateness and drug dependency. She
died four months after she was fired.
Marilyn’s funeral was on Wednesday, August 8,1962.
Marilyn’s coffin is in a marble wall-crypt to which a bronze
plaque is attached: Marilyn Monroe

May she rest in peace. She should have turned to God
rather than drugs. Popularity is no excuse to throw your life
away. What was the priority in Marilyn Monroe’s life?
How could she even begin to inspire a living person???
Susie’s mother opened the door to let Molly, Susie’s babysitter, inside. Ten-month old Susie seemed happy to see Molly. Susie then observed her mother put her jacket on and Susie’s face turned from smiling to sad as she realized that her mother was going out. Molly had sat for Susie many times in the past month, and Susie had never reacted like this before. When Susie’s mother returned home, the sitter told her that Susie had cried until she knew that her mother had left and then they had a nice time playing with toys until she heard her mother’s key in the door. Then Susie began crying once again.
Portrayed as a thug to the media, Tupac Shakur was criticized for his crimes rather than his music. The media rather report on his cases and arrest chargers and failed to recognize his music when he spoke of poverty, justice, equality. Tupac’s music was aggressive and his messages spoke on acts of racism, sex, crime, and even death. Songs such as “Ambitionz Az A Ridah,” and “Hail Mary” depicted images to the youth: it was okay to be tough, put women second, die, and get shot at by the police. Tupac’s music stood out for many reasons. Some say his music inspired other West Coast artist to change their approach when they created songs, and others say it changed the way his fans thought. Other West Coast rappers like Ice Cube and members of N.W.A, Ice T, Snoop Dogg, and Too Short followed in that trend. They rapped about police brutality and not getting along with political authority. This caused many youth in inner city communities to react the same way, thinking it was okay to defy authority and that although consequences would come of it black people could not be stopped. Although Tupac had many songs he expressed with violent words, he also had songs that uplifted many black and Hispanics of poor upbringings. For example, “Dear Mama” was a song written reflecting on how men should respect women because women gave them life and raised them to be strong, also because women
Tupac later moved to Marin City, California. In Marin City Shakur went homeless for two years. He lived on the streets of Marin City and Oakland and sometimes stayed with friends. Through these times he continued to write and record his music, trying to somehow stimulate something so that could get him off the streets. During this time Tupac's mom was in and out of trouble and found herself luckily acquitted on 156 counts. Also, Shakur was dealing with the issue of his father's death. Tupac was tormented by the idea of never knowing his own father. All this lonliness began to wear him down. He began to realize that most of what he grew up around was self-delusion. He also realized that his mother was not the best person to be a role model for him and give him guidance on life. This left him directionless and turned his life into what popularly
What ever happened to Marilyn Monroe? The most likely reason is murder. “An overwhelming amount of conspiracy theorists believes the Kennedy's murdered Monroe, or that the Kennedy's at least had a hand in her death.” stated by ibtimes.com.

Tupac Amaru Shakur was born on June 16, 1971. Named after an Inca Chief, Tupac Amaru means “Shining Serpent” referring to wisdom and courage and Shakur meaning “thankful to God”. Shakurs mother, Afeni Shakur, was a leading member of the Black Panthers, a radical wing of the civil rights movement, with support for hardcore ghettos as well as white patronage. When Tupac’s mother was pregnant with Tupac she was spending time in the Woman’s House of Detention in Greenwich Village for conspiring to bomb several public places in New York City. All growing up his family lived in homeless shelters and run down town houses. Many times his family could not even afford lighting in the house. The only fond member he ever told of his childhood was of a diary he kept. In this diary he recorded his first attempts at poetry, this is where it began. A big moment in Tupac’s intellectual life occurred when he was twelve. At the age of twelve his mother enrolled him in 127th Street Ensemble, a theater group in Harlem. Even at an early age his mothers political views where confusing, and intriguing him. As he told the January issue of VIBE magazine in 1994, “ She was trying to make me live in the white picket fence lifestyle, but yet we ain’t got no money and no good food and no lights. You want me to go to school? They tellin me all this stuff about fighting the system but they pushin me in the system.” Meanwhile Tupac’s father was serving time in prison, when released Tupac and his mother had moved to Baltimore. Before Afeni Shakur could contact him, he had died of a crack induced hart attack.
Maslow’s Psychoanalytical perspective can be used to give an understanding of this part of Marilyn Monroe’s life. Maslow’s theory was developed and based on hierarchy of needs. Maslow wanted to know and understand what motivated people. His belief was that individuals are motivated to achieve certain needs (Feist & Feist, 2009). According to Maslow, Marilyn Monroe had some loving, belongingness needs and safety needs. Maslow believed that when people had their needs for love and belongingness in early years, they do not panic or feel devastated when they are rejected or denied of love. Whereas people who experienced love and belongingness in small doses, have stronger needs for affection and acceptance (Feist & Feist, 2009). This can be app...
Not like other vintage ads which are designed in black and white, this ad appears in color. Although the background of the ad is in blue, the yellow of Marilyn’s eye color, her hair, and some of small lines around her make the poster outstanding and attractive. The color signifies a modern look for a new promising, technological generation of recordable tapes. The ad represents an actual person, Marilyn Monroe. She is the image of a talented actress, a famous singer, and a professional model; moreover, she always symbolizes sexuality even though after her death. By using Marilyn’s image in the ad, Maxell aims to the intended customers who prefer watching films, especially those who loves Marilyn Monroe. The facial expression of Marilyn Monroe
Even though she has been deceased for more than fifty years, people today still are interested in Marilyn Monroe's childhood, love stories, and whether she died by suicide or not. ...
2Pac became the unlikely martyr of gangsta rap, and a tragic symbol of the toll its lifestyle exacted on urban black America. At the outset of his career, it didn't appear that he would emerge as one of the definitive rappers of the '90s -- he started out as a second-string rapper and dancer for Digital Underground, joining only after they had already landed their biggest hit. But in 1992, he delivered an acclaimed debut album, 2Pacalypse Now, and quickly followed with a star-making performance in the urban drama Juice. Over the course of one year, his profile rose substantially, based as much on his run-ins with the law as his music. By 1994, 2Pac rivaled Snoop Dogg as the most controversial figure in rap, spending as much time in prison as he did in the recording studio. His burgeoning outlaw mythology helped his 1995 album Me Against the World enter the charts at number one, and it also opened him up to charges of exploitation. Yet, as the single "Dear Mama" illustrated, he was capable of sensitivity as well as violence. Signing with Death Row Records in late 1995, 2Pac released the double-album All Eyez on Me in the spring of 1996, and the record, as well as its hit single "California Love," confirmed his superstar status. Unfortunately, the gangsta lifestyle he captured in his music soon overtook his own life. While his celebrity was at its peak, he publicly fought with his rival, the Notorious B.I.G., and there were tensions brewing at Death Row. Even with such conflicts, however, 2Pac's drive-by shooting in September 1996 came as an unexpected shock. On September 13, six days after the shooting, 2Pac passed away, leaving behind a legacy that was based as much on his lifestyle as it was his music.

The jail time led to releases of one of Tupac’s more sincere songs “Dear Mama,” which showed Tupac’s softer side. A year later, Tupac was killed in Las Vegas after attending a boxing match. He was shot by unknown gunmen and died at the hospital. Several songs and albums have been released after his death. One of those songs released was “Changes,” where Tupac reflects on problems in the Black American community.
Throughout American history, there have been many inspirational stories about young adults who have grown from an unstable childhood to a world famous actor or actress. According to the recent a consensus taking for China, it has the highest population in the world (Cook, 1999). Different challenges face China i.e. since it is overpopulated; it leads to degradation of land, resources, pollution, and is detrimental to living conditions (Cook, 1999). The Chinese government resorted to means in which highly potent birth control methods were put into place and instances in which citizens of China would be offered special incentives to only have one child (Cook, 1999). The other options that were given to them were that if they more than one child that they will be taxed up to fifty percent of their income or loss of any other benefits that were garnished to them (Cook, 1999). If China is taking some extreme measures to control the population, then what do you think the rest of the world is doing.
