As many people will support it, several will oppose The abolitionists sought the immediate liberation of all slaves and the end of racial separation and isolation. Advocating for prompt liberation distinguished abolitionists from more direct anti-slavery advocates who contended for repressive liberation, and from free-soil activists who looked to confine slavery to existing areas and prevent its spread further west. Just years before the Mexican war, abolitionists like john Quincy Adams, sixth president of the United States: supported the annexation of Oregon in 1846 which spread from the pacific coast to the Rocky Mountains. Frederick Douglass is perhaps the most well-known abolitionist from American history. He is responsible for creating a lot of support for the abolitionist movement in the years before the Civil War. He, along with many others, was able to gain support for and attention to the abolitionist movement. People like him are the reason that slavery ended in the United States.
The 1850s were a turbulent time in American history. The North and South saw totally different views on the issue of slavery. The North saw slavery as immoral and that it was unconstitutional. The south, on the other hand, saw slavery as their right. The South viewed African Americans as lower human beings, which justified slavery.

Manifest Destiny resulted in the westward expansion of the United States in evident ways such as the movement to California, Oregon, and Texas. Manifest Destiny is explained as the God given right for Americans to move westward and expand the United States as far as possible. With this expansion, many people suffered, many thrived, and many states were added to the United States. Such states include California, originally founded for the massive amounts of gold located there along with the other amiable resources located in the area. After the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, many Californians, originally part of Mexico, now lived in the United States and had to survive with a completely new culture and language. Historical events are presented in history as being tied to a date, or an exact happening. Manifest Destiny on the other hand, was quite a tragedy that in a way still exists today. It was an unreal idea that created American history. In other words, Manifest Destiny is also defined as, "A Movement." More specifically, it would be the concepts and beliefs that powered American life and culture.
In Frederick Douglass’ slave narrative, he discusses all the hardships of a slave’s life. He witnesses and receives many harsh beatings from cold-hearted masters. He goes from master to master and eventually one master's wife teaches Frederick to read. Later in his life, Frederick becomes an apprentice and learns a trade, eventually escaping to his freedom.
Manifest Destiny caused Native Americans to lose their land. To start off with I’m going to describe what Manifest Destiny is, Manifest Destiny is the belief of the United States all through continents that were explained and unavoidable. Back then Native Americans weren’t treated with respect by the white settlers and the American Government. They took their land by force, deceived them into agreements (treaties), claimed them to go with the soldiers or somewhere after the battles. None of them showed any caring so of course if they didn’t care they did whatever they wanted to them. Native Americans tried their best at all times to try and defeat but it was hard for them.
Frederick Douglass was a gifted slave. Born with natural intelligence, he used this unique talent to accomplish something that is taken for granted today: being literate. This unique talent made it so that he could achieve his destiny at becoming an educated oral spokesman for the abolitionist movement.

Many people and presidents have promoted this movement. The very first president from the trans-Appalachian West, Andrew Jackson, won the presidency in 1828.
