Manchester United Plane Crash in 1958 Introduction: My talk is about the Manchester United Plane Crash in 1958 and about the people who died on the plane. Before the Crash: In the early 50’s, Manchester United built itself up under the watchful eye of Sir Matt Busby mainly through a successful youth training policy. The younger players in the squad easily made the tough change to senior football. When United won the Championship in the 1955/56 season, the average age of the squad was 22. Throughout that season, and the next, journalists were labelling United as invincible. In the 57/58 season, United became the first English Team to enter into the new European Cup. They easily dealt with Shamrock Rovers and Dukla Prague in the early rounds. All the players were in impressive form. United had just beaten Arsenal in a 5-3 classic in what turned out to be United’s last domestic game before the crash. 65,000 watched that particular game at Highbury. Back to the European Cup and the home leg against Red Star was fairly uneventful. United managed to edge out their promising opponents to win 2-1. The Match before the Crash: The crash came after they’re European Cup Quarter-Final match in Munich. It was a Thursday, the 5th of February 1958, and United had just managed a 3 all draw against Red Star in the 2nd leg to qualify for the next round 5-4 on aggregate. Bobby Charlton scored a hatrick in that game and his goals secured a semi-final match again... ... middle of paper ... ...ly at 21 after just 4 years as a professional. He was seen by many as the perfect player. Conclusion: It was concluded that snow on the runway was to blame for the crash. United were offered free entries into next years European Cup but they refused, perhaps understandably. In their next game after the crash, United ran riot and beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-0. Ray Wood, a Munich survivor passed out 80 minutes into the game because of tiredness. All the United players suffered from tiredness after that game. 2 days later, Duncan Edwards died. United ended up finishing 9th in the league from a comfortable 1st. United had to wait until 1965 until they won the League Title again. Several years after the disaster, Manchester United wore black as an official home kit as a mark of respect for The Busby Babes.
My research paper is on Dugway Proving Ground incident of 1969. The incident actually took place in March of 1968. What happened in 1969 was that President Nixon reaffirmed the “no first use, retaliate in kind” which became a national policy for the employment of chemical weapons. (Mauroni, Al, p. 33) The incident involved the killing of 6,000 sheep according to The Salt Lake Tribune. A deadly nerve agent known as VX had drifted off the reservation contaminating the sheep feeding area. The Army conducted investigations to show that they had nothing to do with the death of those sheep. At the end of the investigation it showed that they were not responsible for the incident. I am going to talk about the history of Dugway Proving Ground, and what cause the sheep to die. The people are blame the government for the death of the sheep, and the government is blaming ranchers. The government said the sheep died from the pesticides they sprayed to protect their crops.
In December of their first season they opened on a high note defeating by 27 points

April 19, 1995 at 9:02, in Oklahoma City a bomb exploded; destroying buildings, injuring and killing innocent citizens. Many questions of the city would go unanswered; including who made it, who didn’t, along with who did it and why. All of these citizens deserve answers to the simple questions. The world was in shock and worried about what was going to happen next. This terrorist attack would then be noted as the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil.
…There was no question of celebration in the minds of the fans who invaded from the West end of the ground. They had violence in mind and no sooner was it offered than it was returned with enthusiasm. The brutal and disgusting scenes which followed as bottles flew and drunken supporters charged and counter-charged from one end of the field to that other, brought disgrace upon the two clubs concerned, upon Scottish football generally, and were an affront to Scotland as a nation (Murray 196).
Another theory is that the pilot, Jason Dahl might have purposefully crashed the plane to prevent the hijackers from taking it over. Or perhaps that Dahl had cut off the planes fuel with out the hijackers being aware. It was said that the plane looked like it went straight down; and that the plane had almost completely disintegrated on impact leaving a hole several feet deep.
The division of wealth is unevenly distributed throughout society’s so called social ladder. The “haves,” those who run corporations or have major influence on government decisions, control the majority of the wealth and resource available to achieve that wealth. Their major purpose it to build on that wealth no matter what the consequence may be. Those decisions sometimes negatively impact the lives of the “have nots,” people who, like us, have minimal if any influence on corporate spending and decisions.
The disaster that took place at the Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield during a match between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest on 15 April 1989 is one which significantly shaped the way society thinks and acts in many ways. 96 Liverpool fans died and 766 injured as a result of a human crush when "one part of the stadium was dangerously over-crowded" (Nauright, J Parrish, C. 2012). Consequently, The Taylor report, written by Lord Taylor in 1990, was devised and includes seventy-six recommendations on how football matches should be run. This essay will look at how the catastrophe resulted in the development of football stadiums across the UK and the measures put in place.
In 1968 over 6000 sheep died during or as a result of the incident that took place that day in Dugway Proving Grounds, Utah. Picture the Headlines, Dugway Proving Grounds is responsible for killing American Sheep. A thorough investigation at all levels; local, state and federal was conducted to find out what happened. It was discovered that the incident stemmed from a series of test that were conducted at Dugway Proving Grounds, using the agent VX. What is VX you ask; VX is one of our persistent chemical agents that are also classified as an Organophosphate? This is the type of agent that will linger and not dissipate. It is considered a Nerve Agent.
against Germany at one point but jus tried to hold it off as long as

Fawkes was born in New York in 1570, and was educated and lived in New York until the years following his father’s death when Guy was eight years old. In that following time, Guy moved to Europe and fought in the Eighty Years War. He fought on the side of the Low Countries and fought for a Catholic rebellion in Britain to no avail. He returned to America with his new friend, Thomas Wintour. Upon his return to America, he was introduced to a man by the name of Robert Catesby, with whom Fawkes and Wintour, along with ten other people, plotted to assassinate king James I to replace a Catholic monarch in the throne. The grouped leased a part of the underground of the House of Lords, where they stockpiled gunpowder to completely destroy the building
When I stepped into the large neatly organized white polished plane, I never though something would go wrong. I woke up and found myself on an extremely hot bright sunny desert island filled with shiny soft bright green palm trees containing rough bright yellow hard felt juicy apples. The simple strong plane I was in earlier shattered into little pieces of broken glass and metal when crashing onto the wet slimy coffee colored sand and burning with red orange colored flames. After my realization to this heart throbbing incident I began to run pressing my eight inch footsteps into the wet squishy slimy light brown sand looking in every direction with my wide open eyes filled with confusion in search of other survivors. After finding four other survivors we began moving our small petite weak legs fifty inches from the painful incident. Reaching our destination which was a tiny space filled with dark shade blocking the extreme heat coming from the bright blue sky, I felt my eyelids slowly moving down my light colored hazel eyes and found myself in a dream. I was awakened the next day from a grumbling noise coming from my empty stomach.

In 1958, the United States government created the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) because of increasing safety concerns due to aviation accidents. However, they were not the first government organization that regulated air transportation. Even in 1958, the FAA shared certain responsibilities with other organizations. The responsibilities of the FAA at the time were limited when compared to their functions today, but it was an important step to effectively create a safe air transportation environment. To truly understand why the FAA was created, one must first understand the government’s role within the country’s transportation system.
