Manchester United won the impossible dream by winning the English Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League in the same season. This was a dramatic win. This incredible victory was a combination of skill along with the great leadership and inspiration from the manager, Sir Alex Ferguson and the support from the fans. It was epitomised by the “never say die” attitude instilled in the team. In winning the Champions League, which is considered the most prestigious club competition in world football, it was a personal achievement for Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United with a truly global impact. The build up to the final was sensational, but nothing could compare with the drama and theatrics of the final game played against Bayern Munich at the Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain. In the 3 additional minutes of stoppage time, Manchester United made history, by scoring two late goals in quick succession breaking the German hearts. The euphoria and emotions of the win were indescribable. This victory clearly silenced any criticism against the team or manager and unanimously recognised Manchester United as a force to reckon with. It was incidental the final was played on Sir Matt Busby’s birthday, who was a legendary football manager of the club and a survivor of the Munich air disaster, which added even more emotion and purpose to the game. Sir Matt Busby and Munich will always be linked with the history of Manchester United. The FA Cup final proved to be the easiest trophy of the treble winning season, where Manchester United outplayed Newcastle United and won the game comfortably 2-0. The FA Cup is the oldest competitively contested cup competition in the world. His impact is felt beyond the theatres, and libraries to the educational literature curriculum. We can look back today, at the remarkable moments of 1999 and reminisce about the triumphs achieved and hope it may be achieved once again under ‘The Chosen One’ – David Moyes. Even with the consistent disappointments of the current season, losing all hope of winning any trophies and qualifying for the champions league next season. . One must draw inspiration from that incredible season and not let the Manchester United spirit of “never say die” fade away. It would be encouraging, to see all fans and supporters exercising patience and undue support, as history has a way to repeat itself. David Moyes should be given a fair chance to demonstrate his capability and inspire the team to its best potential in creating history.
Maurice was angered by this but chose to perform his duties completely and even though he used to arrive late, angry and tired for the game, he transformed his aggression into motivation and scored the winning goals that clinched the victory over their only unbeaten team.
When Eruzione scored winning goal, a scene of intense happiness broke out everywhere in the country. There were 10 minutes left, but the Soviets weren't able to score a goal; they had several chances to tie the game, but the USA grew stronger and more confident as time went on. A miracle had just occurred, one which will probably not happen for a very long time.

It was a bright, August day, with a temperature to match. At least 85°, sun outside was at its peak, with not a cloud to be seen for miles. Such a day is almost unheard of in southern Germany, where the weather tends to be milder year round. It was the perfect day to begin the new season, as well as my first match. I had played many games before this day – nine years’ worth in fact. However, they had all been in the United States, where football is the king of sports. Although the atmosphere was similar, there were distinct, yet almost intangible differences. Many devoted soccer fans do exist in the United States, but the aura at many matches seems to be rather lackluster. Many of those present appear to be disinterested, and it is rarer to see a full venue than in Europe. The set up and division of the sport alone set itself apart from the US. Schools do not have sports teams, only clubs and cities do. Most of the players had been with the same coach and team members since they...
Although many people put a huge influence on winning, many if not more put more of an influence on losing, or trying not to. Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all the time thing. You don't win once in a while; you don't do things right once in a while; you do them right all the time. Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing –Vince Lombardi –.
So long story short, Cinderella stories are fun and they add an element of excitement to world of sports, but what if they weren’t a part of sports? Of course there will always be ‘upsets’ but currently, some of Europe’s elite soccer clubs are holding meetings to discuss the future of the sport. It seems that the elite clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United are actually trying to create a super league consisting of the best teams around the world. Although a European Super league provides an excellent opportunity for the elite clubs in Europe, in the long run, it may end up hurting the world’s favorite game.
Of course we did not win every game that season, but we definitely played our best as a team. When I stepped up to lead the team, the leadership became contagious. Others saw how great it was to be
Since the beginning of time itself, there have been many different individuals who have significantly impacted the world. These impacts on the world can have a range, but are not limited to categories such as science, mathematics, literature, politics, music, athletics and much more. However, of all things, among those categories, one of the most significant impacts on the world, comes from none other than that of literature. The achievements of literature have been known to strike deeper into the hearts of people than many other achievements throughout history. In Fact, many of the most significant works of literature come from one man. This man was considered one of the most influential Romantic Writers of all time and was incredibly well renown for his dramatic, lyrical, and narrative works. The person was none other than that of George Gordon Byron, otherwise referred to as Lord Byron. (The sixth Lord Byron) He was famous for writing eight different plays, focusing on very speculative, or even historical subjects (Although, never intended for stage), and created what is referred to as a very “brooding and defiant personna,” called the Byronic Hero. (Snyder 40). Lord Byron was a well renown poet from the nineteenth century onward because of his very significant works of literature, squandered fortune, ambiguous sexuality, as well as his intense political convictions.
Hundreds of millions of people around the world play or watch soccer. There are more than one hundred and fifty professional leagues in the world for soccer. While America has one major soccer league in the country Europe has a handful. Soccer is becoming more popular in America, but is far from having the popularity similar to overseas. Soccer has progressed in America from the North American Soccer League to Major League Soccer. The fact is, soccer overseas has had more time to grow and develop. In time, the MLS can become a powerhouse for soccer in the world alongside the premier leagues.Eventually, the MLS will compete with the pace, shots, and skills observed on and off the ball.

Across the Universe of Time: Shakespeare’s influence on 21st century society. It is harder to imagine a more universal writer than William Shakespeare. Rarely, if ever, is one of his many plays not being performed anywhere in the world and similarly rare is the tertiary English student who has not examined his work at length. His plays, sonnets and poems are common fodder for high school English departments across the globe.
After that moment, I knew I had to become a leader for this team. I couldn’t quit for them as I was needed in order to keep them believing in themselves. Eventually we didn’t better than what was expected to advance to the second round of the
Barcelona needed a spark. Something or someone that could rejuvenated the bruised and battered team. Many fans were hoping for a brighter future, and the newly elected FC Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, had promised it in the form of the world class midfielder, David Beckham. Laporta was not the favorite in the election, but the Beckham promise swung the vote in his favor. The only problem was, Laporta knew that Beckham had already agreed to sign with Real
