What does a hero mean to you? In ancient Greek mythology, heroes play a very significant role in folk tales and myths. Today, there is still a great deal of people around that we consider to be heroes. In order to be a hero, you must qualify for the needed characteristics. These include possessing bravery, intelligence, confidence, and leadership. Out of the countless other characteristics of a hero, these four are which I believe are the most important, and are needed so as to make the world a better place. Malala Yousafzai is a hero because she has accomplished numerous things to bring awareness on all girls, including women, to have the right of an education. Not to mention that on top of all of this, she has endured a life threatening situation, and is still receiving death threats to this day. …show more content…

Because of the Malala fund, two-hundred Syrian girls ages fourteen to eighteen were able to finally attend school in Lebanon. The fund also strengthens girls’ academic and life skills in Northern Nigeria, including supporting their decisions on delaying marriage. According to Malala.org, “With the support we receive from the Malala Fund, the social and economic barriers to education are reduced and girls have other options than marrying young. Free, safe quality education is the right of every girl.” In other words, Malala.org is saying that now since their education is payed off for, they won’t have to marry at a young age because now they have an opportunity to a more successful life. Countless girls from different places have been influenced by Malala fighting to receive the rights they deserve by learning from her to amplify their voices.
