Malala The Powerful Summary

The article , “Malala the Powerful”, By Kristin Lewis, describes a girl who got hurt for what she stand up for in the world, so should and went through courage and challenges in the world today till for the taliban. Malala was a girl who was in a big part that affect the world the Taliban. She was a girl that fought for what she believed in she fought for girls who didn't get to go school. So when the taliban went down she still went to school but she hid herself and the other children. As she was getting on a bus one day two men walked up and asked for her and she got up they shot her. She recovered but it was hard for her but after that she became a person that could help children in the world today. Through all that her and others have been

This paragraph is about the historical background in “Malala the powerful.” To begin, that the taliban did not want any Islam that was different. Next, in the text it states “These people-mainly young men from rural Pakistan and neighboring Afghanistan- are members of a group called the Taliban.” (6) Lastly in the text it says“Malala is from Mingora, a city in the swat valley. It's a gorgeous place, know for its majestic green mounts, thick forests and mighty rivers.”(6) This is the historical background about “Malala the powerful.”

This paragraph is about Malala challenges. First , in the text it states “For women and girls, life is particularly brutal: they are not allowed to go to school, have careers, or wear makeup or bright clothing. They are

not allowed to go anywhere without a male relative.Breaking these rules brings severe punishment, which may include public whipping or even execution.”(6) This quote for challenges means that the girls did not get a right or have and girls could get really hurt or worse. Secondly, in the text it says “ Malala and her classmates stopped wearing their uniforms and began hiding their books under their clothing. Staying alive meant going to school had to be top secret. Even with these precautions, many parents felt the risk was to great. Attendance at Malala's school decreased by more than 60 percent.”(7) Another one for challenges is that they were so scared of the Taliban finding out what they were doing that people left the school or they were hiding to stay in school and learn. Lasly, it says “ In 2010, notes began appearing under Malala's door, ordering her to give up her crusade or else. But she refused to back down, and on October 9, 2012 . Taliban gunmen shot her and two others on the school bus. But Malala was in the bad shape. The bullet had destroyed her left ear and sent fragments of her skull into her brain tissues, but miraculously, she clung to her life.”(8) This means She was getting thrent for standing up for what she belvide in and getting herself almost killed because of what she believed in and helping other children. These are just some of the challenges she faced in her life.

Lasly, this paragraph is about her courage. First, is she took manager courage to do what she did in the world that is still going on. Also, in the text it stays” “Malala's fears of retaliation did not subside, though. When asked on a Pakistani talk show about the dangers of speaking out, she eerily described how the Taliban might come for her one day:”I think of it often and imagine the scene cleary.” (8) This means that she that took courage and gut because she could have none that the Taliban could come and get her and hurt badly. Next,in the text it states “Malala was helping to focus attention on what was happening in Swat.” (7) This means She did this so no one else would get hurt during that time. Lastly, in the text it says “Today I am wearing a uniform, she said probably. It is important, because it proves that I am a student. It is the happiest day for me because I am living my life, I am going to school, I am learning.”(9) This quote made Malala feel that whatever that happened to her did not stop her from her dreams. This is some of the courage that she showed for what she believed in and still showing to this day.
