Recommended: Masculinity vs femininity

This book is about a girl who stood up for education and women rights. When Malala was born her father seen something special in her, he put her in the family tree which was only reserved for men in her culture. Ziauddin, her father felt that she would be something great in life. She went after what she wanted even while being scare out of her life at one point. Malala felt as if she needed to say something and not stay quite. She states that if people are silent nothing would change in the world (34). In my opinion she is right many people want to change the world and do something great but just thinking it won’t do much. We have to speak up and take action if we want a real change in our community, life and world. Nothing is done by people staying silent. Going after something we feel strongly is good but if I stay silent nothing will come out from just my thoughts. I think that taking real action will get us closer to our beliefs. Not having an education may cause problems in some cases. In the book Malala and her father are encouraging education on their people. Malala feels like there are three powers in the world one of a sword, pen and the strongest power than both is of women (45). I believe that is true, a sword can accomplish violence, a pen a voice but a women can do more than that. Living in a world when they …show more content…

Malala claims that books and pens are the most powerful weapons anyone can have (78). Yes in a way I agree because when someone is so enclosed with their mind they only see one way. Education does help you grow in many ways. It doesn’t necessarily make everything better but in some cases it might. Especially if you want to be great in life one may not need to know every subject to do great but at least one. One of a speaker for instance English may play a huge part.
