Well, you have your AR all dialed in and it runs through ammo without a single hiccup, however, it still needs a little something. How many magazine changes do you think you go through in a day? Wouldn’t it be great if that little something you upgrade would make those mag swaps go better? When you install a Phase 5 magazine release button those mag swaps will improve, so will you. The big three The three things you most often handle on your AR is the charging handle, the trigger, and the mag release button. It only makes sense to address one of these areas for an upgrade that you’ll get the most use out of. Unfortunately, sometimes the standard button seems to not want you to find it, it just blends into your receiver and you are left feeling
around for it. The Phase 5 magazine release button is a direct replacement for the inefficient Mil-spec button that’s costing you time. Its prominent face has deeply textured lines angling across it that are easy to get a hand on and press into service. It’s simple perfection Even when it’s something as basic as a mag release button some companies try and fail to get it even half right. Phase 5 doesn’t even have half right in their vocabulary, the part is either perfect, or it doesn’t leave the building. Your new magazine release button by Phase 5 is CNC machined to microscopic tolerances, and it’s offered in several color options to match the tone of your particular AR. When you choose Phase 5 you choose an all American company and product, your choice does matter.
The amount of ammunition that is allowed by law to be loaded into a firearm criminalize many popular handguns, even those used by the military like the Beretta m9 9mm, which is the standard issue side arm of the United States military that has an ammo capacity of a whopping 15 bullets. 16 bullets if one is locked in the chamber. According to this new law only seven are allowed to be loaded at any given time except when in a competition on a range.
TRANSITION: We now know one factor that may cause a misfire with the magazine clip, what to look for to help prevent one from occurring, and how to resolve any discrepancies with your M9 or any of its components. Now lets take a look at another factor with the magazine that may cause your weapon to perform a stoppage.
Each shot couldn’t be more than inches from the center of the bull’s eye. At the end of these contests, 1,000 winners were enlisted in the 1st United States sharper shooters. The next generation of breechloaders, called magazine rifles, would prove ever more deadly to confederate opponents. “Guns such as Spencer and Henry repeating rifles were designed to carry preloaded magazine of seven to fifteen bullets which could be inserted into the rear of the gun. ”3
(Charles H. Smith, page 2). However, other military branches disdained Thompsons because they were inaccurate. The Standard issue M-1 Garand was the most popular rifle carried during WWII. The M1 Garand is durable, accurate, and has a high firing capacity. General Patton exalted the M1 Garand as being, “The greatest battle implement ever devised.”
First off, “In 1984, the assailant who massacred 21 at a McDonald's in San Ysidro, California, unleashed more than 200 rounds. School and workplace shootings in Stockton, California, and San Francisco in the late '80s and early '90s also involved large magazines, with an estimated 100 shots fired in each case. In 1997, a gunman in Orange, California, fired nearly 150 shots, wielding an AK-47 with a 30-round magazine three years after a federal law banned such assault weapons.” ("A Killing Machine"). This means that after assault rifles were banned, they and high-capacity magazines are being used in mass shootings which is increasing the death and injury rate. The death rate rose because the rifles are rapid-fire weapons that shoot faster with a larger magazine. Also, “Seven states have some restrictions on high-capacity magazines; a new state law passed in New York limits magazines to no more than seven rounds.” ("A Killing Machine"). For this reason some states have banned high-capacity and one has a limitation on bullets. High-capacity magazines are banned unless you have owned one before January 1st, 2000. Mass shootings that have involved high-capacity magazines have made the death rate and injury rate
Christopher McCandless’ long, fascinating, but an ultimately fatal journey into the wilderness of Alaska is depicted in the biography, Into the Wild, written by Jon Krakauer. Late in the of summer of 1990, a very young Christopher McCandless left his ordinary world in Annandale, Virginia to pursue a solitary life in the untamed wilds of Alaska. Many will insinuate that Christopher McCandless’ actions were childish and idiotic, but a stronger argument would be that his unconventional thinking and desire to live life on his own terms allowed him to reach self-actualization.
This was the self contained brass cartridge. It contained an ignition source called a primer, an amount of powder and a bullet. Early cartridge guns were converted percussion rifles. The first repeating rifles were the Henry and Spencer, the Henry had a fifteen shot internal magazine and the Spencer a seven round removable magazine this meant multiple could be carried. Repeaters were not limited to rifles though handguns such as the famous Colt Single Action Army were a common favorite among both civilians and military personnel. The industrial revolution boosted the firearms industry. It allowed gunsmiths who formerly would cut rifling and make parts by hand using saws and files to now use vertical mills and lathes to improve both output and precision. Barrels became easier to rifle and take to size using lathes and mills allowed sights to be manufactured much easier. The next major evolutionary step in the firearms industry was the bolt action rifle. A bolt action provides a tighter seal at the breach than other actions allowing higher pressure cartridges and a farther effective range do to increased velocity The first bolt action used by the U.S. military was the Krag-Jorgensen a Norwegian rifle with a internal side loading magazine. It was thought by many that the Krag was was an exceptional piece of equipment but during the Spanish - American War it was proved otherwise. Spaniards armed with German Mausers a rifle with a
One of the most heavily debated subjects today in the United States is guns. Over the last few years, mass shootings and spree shootings have been covered widely in the media. It leaves many Americans wondering how we can just sit by and let this happen. However, this is no easy task to attempt to solve or something that will just go away overnight. Taking away the guns won 't solve anything or just fix the problem as a whole. The United States constitution not only protects, but guarantees the right to bear arms as an American citizen. Why should we let the acts of a few sick and mentally ill ruin the right for the rest of law abiding citizens. The focus should center more around tougher background checks and mental health. Many Americans,
The United States made a threat to the Kingdom of Hawaii that they would overthrow the kingdom. The overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawaii began with a threat against Queen Liliuokalani on January 17, 1893 on the island of Oahu, by foreign residents residing in Honolulu, mostly United States citizens, and subjects of the Kingdom of Hawaii. The United States planned to overthrow Hawaii to make it the 50th state of America. Thousands of soldiers stood guard in front of Iolani Palace to make a statement to the queen by showing the power of their army. The Overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom was unjustified because Queen Lili’uokalani was treated very unfairly during her reign and the Committee of Public Safety tried to make her reign short and surrender the kingdom to the
Have you ever wondered how some athletes have gotten so good at a certain sport? Have you ever thought about what they did in order for them to get this good? For some the answer is simple; workout and train. But for others the answer is different; the use of performance enhancing drugs such as steroids. There are some people that argue that steroids should be legalized and allowed in professional sports. Other people argue that steroids should not be allowed. Today I am going to state my opinion and justify my reason. Steroids should not be allowed in professional sports because it can be very dangerous to the athlete’s health, it is a way to gain and un-fair advantage and it can be dangerous in both social and physical aspects.
This was wasteful and perilous. By 1863, on the other hand, there was another choice: alleged rehashing rifles, or weapons that could shoot more than one slug before requiring a reload. The most popular of these weapons, the Spencer carbine, could shoot seven shots in 30 seconds. In the same way as other Civil War advances, these weapons were accessible to Northern troops yet not Southern ones: Southern production lines had neither the gear nor the skill to create them. "I think the Johnny's [Confederate soldiers] are getting shaken; they fear our rehashing rifles," one Union trooper composed. "They say we are not reasonable, that we have firearms that we load up on Sunday and shoot all whatever remains of the
I am adventurous. No I don't sky dive, wrestle crocodiles, or swim with sharks, but when asked by a group of friends to go cliff diving last summer, my best response was, “Sounds like fun!” I had never been afraid of heights yet have never experienced the thrill of cliff diving. All I could ask myself was, “What could go wrong?”

Over the past semester, I have found the most challenging part of this course to simply be the transition from high school composition classes to college. Because writing expectations are so different in college than in high school, even with AP and Dual Enrollment “college level” classes, I first found myself being overwhelmed with the pressure to write the perfect first draft. The pressure came from knowing how much a final draft of a paper contributed to my grade. This left me sitting in front of my computer for hours at a time with thoughts of what I wanted to say racing through my head, but unable to deliver these thoughts into organized, structured sentences. I learned, through writing my persuasive essay, that instead of trying to write the paper start to finish and already in its perfect form, it is easier for me to look at the paper through its different components and focus on them individually, then work to best organize my ideas fluently.
I'm not afraid of heights, but I think it would take anyone a lot of courage to jump off a 50 foot cliff. This jump became my ultimate challenge last summer. It was a sunny day on the Amalfi Coast of Southern Italy, which is located about 45 minutes north of the town of Amalfi, and about 45 minutes south of the town of Positano. I was at Furore, a beach in a canyon formed from a fiord.
