Madame Loisel is a dynamic character that undergoes a dramatic change in, “The Necklace” by Guy de Maupassant. Throughout the story, Madame Loisel’s envy was vividly described and frequently mentioned in her thoughts, as well as actions. On page 28 the narrator states, “She felt that was the kind of life for her. She so much longed to please. Be envied, be fascinating, and sought after.” Madame Loisel idealized the life of the high society and finer things in life.
